  1. I don't think they are custom bends, they are the same hook that Stanley and Dirty jigs use, I think booyah uses them in a model of jig also, I am going to grab one and melt the head down to see what hook is in there, something tells me its not custom bent.
  2. It is a suspending jerk bait, you will have to reel it down to depth, usually 4-5 slow cranks of the reel, then you can fish it anyway you want, steady retrieve, retrieve with jerks, stopping on the retrieve letting it suspend and hang in the fishes face, there really is no wrong way to fish it, my only advice is usually faster retrieves work bwtter in the summer, but as the water cools, slowing down can be key.
  3. 5/16 original swim jig, in Bull Gill with a Paca Craw Alabama Craw trailer, and a 1/2oz triple willow spinnerbait in ChartWhite.
  4. it doesn't matter which angle you hold that fish, there is no way it has a 22" girth. It is a big fish no doubt, but not anywhere near 22" girth, I think it might still barely break the 6 lb 7oz record, but not near 8lb 9oz it is claimed to be
  5. Paca Chunk Keitech fat swng impact, Just tried the Kalins sizmic grub yesterday and it is a winner also Havoc subwoofer and actions plsatics 5" mag grub
  6. One of my 1100's is right in the closet about 5 feet from my side of the bed, smooth bore shorty slug barrel and #6 bird shot, still have the sound of racking a shell in, but can also unload 6 shells in under 5 seconds all on target
  7. Here is a video we did about our swim jigs, we will be doing more videos here in the near future. This video goes over the design of our swim jig, what situations to use it in, and what trailers I use with them.
  8. Craw and the chunk both work, it just depends on what profile you want, more good trailers are the Havoc subwoofer, havoc grass pig, paca chunks, and single and double tail grubs.
  9. He bought the original chatterbait design, he did not rip it off, there is a huge difference in the business world. I am not saying I like the patent, in fact I think most of the patents handed out in the fishing world are bs, terminator patented titanium when they were no where close to the first to be using titanium wire, on top of that is a an element and I don't understand a patent on an element. We won't even get into the patented designs of soft plastics or swim baits, but the whole idea of a patent has to be upheld, otherwise we turn into China
  10. Some of the bigger companies will give royalties to zman to sell baits with the blade attached directly to the bait, imho this is the only way to go with these baits. Like it or not it is intellectual property of Zman and deserves to be protected, regardless of who originally designed it. It is just to bad someone didn't patent the original eaker shaker since this is where the bait originated from in the late 70's
  11. ZMAN is redoing his patents right now, I would guess you will see alot of them disappearing from the market because the do not want to get slapped with a cease and desist.
  12. I have one and really like it for the price point, but about a week after I got it a guide fell apart, not really abig deal, just took it into a local rod shop and had them replace the guide on it.
  13. TCbass, try out the flip and swim jig on my website, I have alot of customers that fish the east metro, and it is a very popular jig all over Minnesota. The reason it is popular is because it does it all, fishes weeds great, swims great, can be drug on the bottom with its wider roller style bottom. The only place its not really going to do that good is wood and chunk rock but being a MN boy you are not going to run into either much. We also have a new flipping jig coming out on Memorial day weekend that is custom designed for the water we fish in the north, natural weedy lakes. Check out the link in my signature to see what we have to offer, everything is next day shipping also!
  14. Check out the Missile Baits D-Bomb, it is imho, the best of the beaver style baits.
  15. PIG!!! And we are still iced up here
