  1. I use XL on all my spinning rigs ( 6. 10, 12 pound test) and on most of my bait cast rigs ( 12 pound test). I use XT ( 17 pound test) on my channel cat bait cast rig. On my flathead cat rig I use 80 pound test braided Dacron with 50 pound test Big Game mono leaders.
  2. Cocoons! I paid @ $45 for mine and I love 'em! I got the tortoise shell frames and copper color lenses. BPS sells Cocoons, but you can only get the copper lenses directly from Cocoons. Amber, green, or gray are available from retailers like BPS. The frames come in tortoise, black, and sand colors, and in 4 or 5 sizes from small ovals to the Aviator frames which will fit over prescription glasses. These are the ones I have.
  3. Whatever The Searchers album was that had Love Potion #9 on it.
  4. The Bass Pros.
  5. $23 for basic license. Another $10 for a 2 pole stamp. Another $18 for a trout stamp.
  6. I use bait cast, fly cast, and spinning. Started out using spinning gear and used it exclusively for most of my life. Got into bait casting and loved it once I got the hang of it. Then I got into fly casting. Now fly casting is my prefered method followed by bait casting then spinning. I take 2 fly cast, 3 bait cast, and 3 spinning rigs on my boat.
  7. Having lost my daughter to violence I understand the family's grief. My prayer was sent when I read this sad story. Lord, grant them your strength.
  8. I also have State Farm at present, but plan to switch to BoatU.S. policy as they insure any age boat and it's equipment for what it would cost to replace it, not the industry standard replacement value.
  9. I've never seen this magazine.
  10. They send me mine with regularity. Bassin' is published 6 times per year, every 2 months. Best bass magazine out there. The most recent edition is the January 2011 copy. I got mine middle of December.
  11. www.flyfisherman.com
  12. Another good one; One Eyed Jacks with Marlon Brando.
  13. Open Range with Robert Duvall and Keven Costner. Tom Horn with Steve McQueen.
  14. You are requesting a lot of information here. May I suggest the ultimate fly fishing book for bass? The L.L.Bean Fly Fishing for Bass Handbook, second edition, by Dave Whitlock. Everything you will ever need to know about bass fly fishing is in here. You can find a copy for @ $10 on Craig's List. Happy fly fishing!
  15. Yeah, I do a few Johnny Winter tunes, but I just classified them as blues tunes. We had a web site, but recently had a membership change. The drummer had the web site and as it was a nasty split, he took it down the night of the split. We're a better band now. Originally a 3 piece (guitar/vocals, electric & upright bass/vocals, drums/vocals). Now a 5 piece. Added 2 guys I played with for 10 years (1.guitar/electric bass, and 2.soprano-alto-tenor sax/ flute) and a drummer I've known for @ 10 years. Adding the second guitarist who doubles on bass gives me the oppertunity to double on harmonica which I couldn't do in the trio. A veritable pant load of talent here. I'll let you know as soon as we get a new site up and running.
  16. If it weren't for bad luck you'd have no luck at all.
  17. I use copper color lenses in my Cocoons.
  18. My current band is a "blues / rock" band. We play traditional blues and swing as well as originals, some jazz, rock-a-billy, Derek & the Dominoes, Cream, Jimmy Vaughan, Animals, Doors blues tunes, Hendrix, etc.
  19. JoePhish, thank you . As a life long musician I was trying to figure out how to classify the Peas. You hit the nail on the head....an act! Priceless!!
  20. Our lakes here in Arizona are gin clear. Often it is possible to see down 40 feet or more. I only use clear line anymore. Can't speak for the rest of the country.
  21. I have a Cabela's near by, but I buy my gear from BPS online. BPS has a much better stock of items and I have yet to be told anything I've ordered would be a back order.
  22. I use a frozen squid head that I cut off from the squid body. The tentacles have better action than anything I've ever seen, and it leaves a scent trail! The squid bodies make great channel cat bait.
  23. I always carry a gun ( concealed carry permit) and a cell phone. I consider both basic safety tools. Sad story about the Michigan gentleman.
