  1. Get the Wal-Mart Maxx batteries. I run 3 of them .They are great and the price is right. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A>~
  2. I don't know how anybody can afford to buy a new vehicle. However, if I could afford one, it would be Toyota. My current truck is a 1987 Chevy S-10 Blazer. I've NEVER been a Chevy man. Had 4 before this, and that would have been 4 too many if one hadn't been a Corvair. That was a great car. I've put a LOT into this Blazer, but it has proven itself to me. I just went from Phoenix Arizona to Worland Wyoming for a family funeral just after having the tranny rebuilt. It ran flawlessly and didn't use a drop of oil or trans fluid in the round trip, 2,263 miles. Total gas expenses, $250. I'll run this truck as long as parts are available. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  3. If you want to catch BIG cats, live bluegill is the best option ;D. For smaller ones I used to use cut bait or shrimp, but recently discovered a better bait. I now use a ribbed soft plastic worm for bass fishing, threaded onto a 4/0 circle hook and Secret 7 catfish dip bait . This is the way to go 8-). Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  4. I.ve paid big $ for carb and fuel pump repair on my 1967 Evinrude Starflite 80 hp. :'( I was using regular Sta-bil at the time. > I'm now using Star-Tron enzyme fuel stabilizer. I'm now in wait and see mode. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  5. I have 1 paddle and 1 old oar from my old aluminum boat in my boat. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  6. In Arizona basic license is $23.50. 2 pole stamp is $6.00. Admission to lakes I normally fish is $5, and $2 per watercraft. No launch fees. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  7. Nice one. Definately a channel. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  8. It was my pleasure to be of help. I'll be happy to help again anytime. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  9. When I did extensive work on my boat, I replaced the old open cell waterlogged foam in my boat. You must use closed cell foam.Your old foam was open cell or it would not have waterlogged. Foam from home improvement centers will also be open cell. Do not use it. I got sheets of closed cell foam from McMaster-Carr company. The sheets are 2" thick , 24"x54". Cost is $52.23 per sheet. I bought 4 sheets for my project, 16' fiberglass boat. McMaster-Carr phone number is 562-692-5911. This foam catalog number is 9334K27, polyethylene sheet, blue, 2" thick,24"x54". It is easily cut into pieces that fit your spaces using a serrated kitchen knife. This product is also available in other thicknesses. Call the company. They are very helpful and friendly, and will make sure you get what will work best for you. This product will work perfectly for your project. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  10. I use Pennzoil all synthetic in my 1967 Evinrude Starflite 80hp motor. It works great and very little smoke, except when on full choke. Then it smokes, but under normal running condition with choke off it produces suprisingly little smoke. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A>~
  11. I use 3 Maxx's on my boat. 1 for starting only, 1 for trolling, 1 for fishfinder, Sirius satellite radio, VHF radio, lights, etc. No problems using them for these purposes. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  12. This has been my opinion since his first season. His fans are rabid and they hate Kyle Busch for the fact that he has all the talent of Dale Sr., but his last name isn't Earnhardt. My favorite driver based on driving skill is Kyle Busch. Based on just being an affable, likeable guy, it's Michael Waltrip. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  13. When I was a teenager living in Florida I caught them a lot. Good fighters and a lot of fun. The best gar bait is as follows. Whip tie a 4" piece of white nylon rope, 1/4" diameter, to a hook. Fray the rope. all the way to the tie thread. Seal tie with superglue or varnish. The frayed rope tangles in the gar's teeth 8-). They are very hard to hook because of their hard bony mouth . You don't really need the hook on this lure, but you may get a strike from a bass or other gamefish, and then you'll want that hook ;D. Happy gar fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~boatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.'
  14. 1977 16' Glastron Sportster, 1967 Evinrude Starflite 80 hp. An oldie but a goodie. Extensively modified and customized for fishing. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  15. My response was largemouth because smallmouth oppertunities are very limited here compared to largemouth. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  16. My fishing trips are usually 24 hours in the boat on the lake. I fish for largemouth, smallmouth, striped, and white bass, channel and flathead catfish, crappie, and sunfish (for bait for flathead cats). Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  17. I've never been to BPS, it is @ an hour's drive from my house. Cabela's is only @ 12 minutes. I like the huge selection and prices at Cabela's, but I try to do the majority of my purchases at Fisherman's Choice Pro Shop, about 3 minutes away. VERY knowledgable staff and locally owned. They also sponser a Wednesday night tournement all summer at Lake Pleasant, the closest lake to my house at @ 45 minutes drive.
  18. 1977 Glastron Sportster, 16' 1967 Evinrude Starflite 80hp Min-Kota 50# thrust Eagle 320c
  19. I have 3 of these on my boat. 1 for starting, 1 for trolling, 1 for all accessories. They're great. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  20. I've always liked Prine, and the late Steve Goodman has been one of my favorites since the 70's. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  21. I have had no problems, remember, the thinned resin doesn't build up much, and I only put one coat of full strength resin on. Also remember that Thompson's must be reapplied at least yearly. Hard to do with carpet over it. It is just not the right application for boating. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  22. Try Zetts fish hatchery in Drifting PA. They have just about every kind of North American fresh water game fish you can think of . Ask them to send you their catalog. Phone; 814-345-5357, between 7:00-2:00 PM. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  23. The Sierra 10 micron filter is the one that I am interested in. West Marine sells it. I've had a water in the fuel issue once before (expensive repair bill) so I'd like to install one of these filters as long as it won't create a problem with my 2 stroke oil. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  24. Thompson's water seal is totally worthless on a boat. Seal your wood this way. Mix fiberglass resin, then cut it with acetone to a watery consistancy. Paint all surfaces and edges with at least 2 coats, then mix full strength resin and apply one coat. The diluted resin will soak into wood, acetone will evaporate, leaving resin impregnated in wood. Final resin coat will waterproof surface. Carpet glue will adhear to fiberglass resin after you rough it up first with sandpaper. Treat your wood this way and it will last indefinately. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  25. I use the same filter on my 1967 Evinrude Starflite 80 hp. I do not currently have a water seperator filter on my fuel line, but would like to. I have heard conflicting reports that these filters will filter out the two stroke oil from the fuel. Some advice from users of these filters would be greatly appreciated . Thanks. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
