  1. Here it's either black crappie or striped bass/white bass. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  2. I could not agree more cart! I'm always emotionally drained by that movie. The "Nightmare on Elm Street" films, though well done, bother me very much . The "hero worship" of some people for the character of Freddy Kruger disturbes me most. My very young daughter was kidnapped, raped, and murdered so this type of thing I find offensive and repugnant.
  3. I'm never without one. I keep a .45 in my boat bag as my designated boat gun. I have a ccw permit and normally carry either a S&W model 59 ,9mm or a S&W model 629, 4" 44mag. Happier fishing in the future to you. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  4. It's a bowfin. Lots of fun to catch. Fight like the Dickens. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  5. Before I bought my current boat and truck I had a 14' aluminum boat on a small trailer with a 7.7 hp outboard motor. My tow vehicle was a 1988 Subaru wagon, 1.8 liter motor with 5 speed manual transmission. That car towed that rig like it wasn't even there. Anything heavier than that and you'll need a truck. My current rig is a 16' fiberglass boat with 80hp motor and fully equipped for bass fishing. My tow vehicle is a 1987 Chevy S-10 Blazer with 2.8 liter V-6 and automatic transmission. A local transmission technician/shop owner who is also a tournement bass fisherman inspected my transmission and said my truck would be fine for my needs and I have had no problems since. I had him service the transmission and make a few adjustments to it. I usually tow @ 30 miles to my closest lake, occasionally up to 60 miles to others. It's not fast or powerful, but adequite. Hope this helps you .Oh yes. Keeping the fluid cool is a must. I installed a cooler rated at twice the gross weight of my rig and I recommend you do the same. Also, tow in "drive", DO NOT tow in "overdrive". Happy fishing. ~B.A>S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  6. I think the solution to your problem is to just put your boat in the warm water lakes in the Phoenix area, lol. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  7. WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. I have NEVER killed anything just for the sake of killing . I would eliminate invasive species that have no place in the ecosystem, but not native fish with a definate place there. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  9. When I had an aluminum boat (16'), I towed it with my 1.8 liter 1988 Subaru wagon with no trouble at all. 60 mph down the highway like it wasn't even there. You'll have no problems. Happy fishing. Phoenix Arizona ~N.A.F.C.~B.A.S.S.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  10. I have Sirius satellite radio on board. I alternate between listening and silence. Doesn't seem to affect fishing, as long as the volume is low. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R A..~
  11. I don't dock or beach at night, I anchor while fishing overnight. I used to trim down, but after having fishing line tangle arount the prop, I now trim up to keep fishing line out of it. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  12. Diamondbacks. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~boatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  13. For flatheads nothing beats a live bluegill. For channels I've always used shrimp, aged in the sun for several hours, with good results, but recently found another great method. Secret 7 catfish paste bait. I rig a deeply ribbed soft plastic bass worm by threading it on the hook till only the curly tail is free to wiggle in the current, then dip it into the bait. I like this better than using tubes for this bait. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  14. Grateful Dead Johnny Winter Bela Fleck & the Flecktones Rolling Stones David Grisman Quintet
  15. The nylon rope lure won't work on Alligator Gar. Long nose or spotted gar have much finer and closer spaced teeth that tangle in the rope lure, Alligator's teeth are too widely spaced for the rope gar lure to work on them. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~
  16. If you've read the Reutimann threads, you'll see what the Jr. fans think of Kyle. The reason is obvious. Kyle drives like Sr. and they can't stand that Jr, can't. If Kyle Busch was the exact same person that he is with the name Dale Earnhart Jr., they would love him and hate Jr., who would hypothetically be Kyle Busch in this scenario. When Hendrick dropped Kyle to pick up Jr., I thought it was the stupidest business move I'd ever seen in NASCAR. Dropping a rising star to pick up a never was! ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  17. Bill Dance and Shaw Grigsby. Don't have a least favorite. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A>~A.M.A>~
  18. 35" ,25# flathead catfish caught at Lake Pleasant north of Phoenix Arizona. Caught on a Quantum Mantra reel and Quantum mediun weight rod with 12# test line. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  19. I think what opposition there is to Kyle Busch comes from disgruntled Dale Earnhart Jr. fans who wish Jr. coul drive like his father, and Kyle deffinately does that. 90% of Jr. fans are only his fans because of his name and they wish he could drive like his dad. I think Jr. is a slightly better than average driver and will stay that way. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  20. I know how you feel about Kyle Busch. He has got to be the biggest jerk in any sport. Whatever your personal opinions of the man, he's definately one of a handful of the best drivers in NASCAR.
  21. I used to catch plenty of gar when I lived in Florida. Want to catch them? Take a 1/0 hook and whip tie a 4" piece of white nylon rope to the hook eye area, like fly tying. Varnish or superglue the thread after tying. Then fray and unravel the rope. The gar's teeth get tangled in the rope 8-). Their bony mouth is almost impossible to set a hook in. You really don't need the hook on this lure for gar, but you may get a strike from a bass or crappie, and then you'll want that hook ;D. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  22. Hey Chump, I'm still waiting for ya. Since our boats are the same size I take it you have a single axel trailer like I do. The tires on my trailer are ST175/80R13 rated for 1100 pounds. I don't have the bottoming out problem you do, but the roads into the lakes here, even though you'll be driving at slow speed, will definately be causing you to bottom out a lot. The 12" tires shoul be alright, but they will obivously be turning more revolutions per minute than 13" ones, so I'd keep my road speed down a bit, maybe max speed 60-65? As long as the tires are rated within your max load I don't see a problem there. If you want to keep the 13" tires, longer spring shackles may help depending on how much wheel travel you are experiencing. Another alternative would be having a spring shop add a leaf to your springs or rearching them. May be a little pricy though. Get the heck down here and let's go fishing. Later. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  23. My Grandparents lived on a golf course in Ft.Lauderdale when I was a teenager. The second largest bass I ever caught was from a pond on that course about 60 yards from their house. The country club didn't want people fishing on the course during the day due to the possibility of being hit by a golf ball. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  24. For most likable personality, Michael Waltrip. Sheer driving talent, Kyle Bush and Tony Stewart. IRL drivers; Tony Kanaan and Danika Patrick. Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
  25. Besides fishing I'm also a lifetime pro/semi pro musician. I play electric and upright bass, harmonica, and vocals, hence my posting name of bass or bass? 8-) Happy fishing. ~B.A.S.S.~N.A.F.C.~BoatU.S.~N.R.A.~A.M.A.~
