  1. Well little Sarah caught a bluegill about 1 pound and now she's really wanting to go fishing again.
  2. Physics is going to favor the spinning as the line is coiling off the reel by itself. With baitcasting, no matter how smooth the bearings are, there is still friction with the spinning spool on those bearings, and that creates drag.
  3. X 2. I have a 101 and a 102 and they're smooth as butter.
  4. Obviously a whale shark. Plankton eater, harmless unless you get hit by the tale as it swims.
  5. Arbogast Hula-Popper, leopard frog pattern, 5/8 ounce.
  6. I'm happy with my Penn 209 on a medium heavy Rhino Kevlar rod. This is fishing for reservoir stripers here in Arizona.
  7. I think 24 has been going down hill for the last 3 seasons. I also think Liam Neeson in "Taken" , leaving a steady stream of bodies in his wake, makes the recent Jack Bauer look like a first year cub scout.
  8. I have VHF radio in my boat and I'd never be without it. My buddy has one on his boat too, and we can communicate with each other anywhere on the lake. Also, I've broken down a couple times on the water and hailed Vessel Assist on emergency channel 16. They were there within 15 minutes each time to tow me back to the ramp. I also have BoatU.S. unlimited towing so the tow was free. I have a basic radio and 4 foot antenna, cost total for each was @ $100. A cell phone is all but worthless on our canyon lakes here in Arizona.
  9. You want stainless steel piano hinge. Lowe's or Home Depot should have it. If not, call a metal supply company.
  10. Wow! I love mine! I have the aviators because they fit over my prescription glasses. I also have prescription polarized sunglasses with gray lenses and use them for everyday use but far prefer the Cocoons for fishing.
  11. Bass Pros Bill Dance In-Fisherman
  12. Go to their website. They also sell frames in tortoise shell and you can order copper color lenses directly from them This is the combination I have. Copper lenses cut water surface glare best followed by amber then gray. The tortoise frames and copper lenses are available only directly from Cocoons, not through outside vendors.
  13. Wow, are you ever lucky to still have all your digits. Those softshells are vicious suckers and their neck is long enough to reach all the way to the end of their tails. Their jaws are like razors!!!
  14. I think this is true of all species. I'll shoreline fish in the rain, but don't like being on my boat in the rain.
  15. Cocoons make clip-ons. I use Cocoons Aviators that fit over my glasses and wrap around the sides giving me total UV protection.
  16. Caught a seagull in mid air casting a Mirro Lure. Fought it down from the sky. That was one PO"D bird, a real bear to unhook!!!
  17. I've had a similar tool made by Snap On for 25 years that I used when I was tying rebar on construction sites. Never thought about keeping them in the boat until now. Thanks.
  18. Year round fishing here.It was 80 degrees today. The lakes are full and starting to heat up. Putting the boat in the water in 2 weeks. Taking my 10 year old granddaughter shoreline fishing next Saturday.
  19. I've been using Cocoons for two years and love them.
  20. I've had great results with Everstart Maxx Marine from Wal-Mart. I have two on my boat; one dedicated to starting, the other for trolling motor, radio, submersible lights, etc. My batteries are connected to a selectable battery switch . Battery 1/ both/ off. I start and run the boat on both to charge them, then switch to battery 1 for trolling and fishing. That way battery 2 is always fully charged for starting the motor.
  21. I've been considering these baits also but haven't seen any favorable (or unfavorable for that mater) reviews yet, so at least for now I'm sticking with Zera Spooks.
  22. Simply to get out more frequently.
  23. You can find it in the automotive section at Wall-Mart.
