  1. I have absolutely murdered on the floater. Shallow, weedy, and windy has been the ticket. Waking it against the wind. There isnt a thing wrong with the bait believe me......just like any bait it has its time and place. I would never throw it at a visible fish though.....it is a reaction/search bait for me.
  2. Do you own any shirts?
  3. from just what you said there i would be tempted to throw a 10 inch powerworm or a big jig if i was going after a big fish.
  4. ^that. Good job.
  5. trick worms arent meant to float. There are high floater worms available.....trick worms arent one of them. Trick vs finesse: The finesse is just a smaller version. Generally, you would go smaller when the water is clearer, colder, or the fish just arent very aggresive. That being said the trick worm is one of the most simplistic, fish catching baits out there.
  6. ^ you see i didnt even understand how they did it. Thanks for that. I liked the format but even after watching the three hours i had no idea how they tallied the points. They didnt clarify any of that.
  7. Depends on your price point. If you are looking for like a bare bones fishfinder than no. But if you want a color fishfinder with a decent amount of power than it seems totally worth it to get one that has gps included for a couple hundred more.
  8. Same principle. The advantage being that the trajectory is horizontal and slightly up, rather than down as it is with a traditional cast. With a good roll cast the bait flies low to the water and enters quietly.
  9. Stay away from bladed baits to avoid the pike. try a weightless worm, fluke, senko, etc.
  10. I am trying to visualize this. Yeah flipping you could do but pitching would be hard IMO. When i pitch i use about a rod lengths worth of line......so i would think you would hit the boat or the water, or both, if you were sitting. Flipping i guess you could manage because you keep the rod up and away from the boat and you just use your hand to feed or take up line. I would still want at least a 7'6" rod though. Especially sitting down i would think the extra length would be even more important. Try learning to roll cast instead of pitch maybe.
  11. yeah i think this was supposed to be a joke.......but it went wrong.
  12. I am going to try and get out this afternoon. It is overcast now and will be until my boat touches the water.......then the sun will come out in full force.
  13. for me: flipping: 7'6" MH. Braid. pitching 7' MH. fluoro.
  14. I dont think this will have any effect on them down here. This was barely a cool front. It faded and just sort of rolled down on us. We will get our first real front some time in October usually.....i will be fishing somewhere on that rainy, windy day it comes in. It was nice to drive to work with the sunroof open for the first time in 3 months though.
  15. I was reading your report and before seeing the pics i KNEW you werent talking about Osbourne. haha Secret lakes ef tee double you
  16. All you guys using mono for spinnerbaits.....have you tried FC? It is far superior for spinnerbaits IMO.
  17. Where was the tourn?
  18. I am out fellows. Sorry. I am down for a get together with a couple weeks notice. Good luck.
  19. Nice fish. What is with the photochopping of your shirt?
  20. Why in the world would a bass be attracted to coffee? I mean use your head, and be smarter than the lure marketers. Strike king is the master of marketing lures that catch fishermen. Hook, line and sinker. They have always had brilliant marketing campaigns. I commend them for that. But if you catch fish on rage tail baits its not because a bass smells a grande latte in the hydrilla. sorry.
  21. Yeah blue gill smuggling is serious. :
  22. Mondays are a bit tough for me to get out of the office. I will know more as this week wraps up. What time are people meeting up? It is getting dark a lot earlier now, like 7:45 ish. Also is this confirmed for the 441 ramp. The middle ramp on the east side of the refuge right?
  23. Has you interest shifted to something else? Personally the only way my interest in one of my favortie activities slips is when i find another.
