  1. Or the Gheenoe! Still have yet to put my eyes on the Big 'O" Yeah, got one of those too! So when do you want to head out, maybe we can have Dale share his honey hole coordinates around J&S and see if we can try those custom frog baits, want to try my Kopper's frog too! LMK. i put a WP down right before i left. It wasnt far from the ramp. btw the lock is still operating it isnt on full open.
  2. fished out of J&S on friday. caught a few fish here and there then came across an area with hard bottom slightly stained w hydrilla. It was on like gangbusters. Caught 15 in about 30 minutes on horny toads. there were big clusters of beds. females seemed to be around them but werent on them. fun day. btw you have to idle through 12 inches of water to get out of J&S.
  3. Had a 92 back in the day with a 40 johnson. Had it for almost ten years and ran the heck out of it. No problems. good boat.
  4. haha.....i assumed it wasnt pretty. Not many hotties hanging out on the banks of S FL canals.
  5. ME!! Throwing a fish over your shoulder like it doesn't matter is flat out wrong. The ones you saw gently placing the fish in the water and taking time to revive it after what must have been an exausting fight to the fish is the one that cares about preserving the species for the next generation, setting examples for the kids watching, and also setting examples for those who otherwise are AGAINST the sport of bass fishing and those who participate in it. It doesnt have to be one or the other. I toss back plenty of fish from standing height on the deck and i have yet to have one die from the impact. Unhook, extend arm, drop. no problem.
  6. There isnt an inch of that lake that those guys havent run all over. I am with him and staying away until it settles down.
  7. yeah if you are going to make the trip you might as well go all the way where your chances are better. Head to Dade county. C-100, Snapper creek canal.
  8. I have a 7'3" MH. I use it as a pitching rod with a shimano castaic on it. 15 # FC. Its been good so far. It is light. The guides are fine. The reel seal is a bit funky. I would prefer regular fuji seat but no big deal. For the price it is a good rod.
  9. I used to have an 18ft Xpress with a 150hp Yamaha that would do 77 on gps with 2 people and all of their gear. I imagine with a light load and 1 person it would get very close to 82, and that was with a stock motor. That being said I got rid of it because it scared me to death. Here we go.......
  10. One is all you need, Mike. The bow can swing in the wind but it is not an issue. One will stop a boat on a dime. It is a must have for O or Lox. Go the cheap route and buy a sportsman model with % off coupon. I got mine from TW with a 20% coupon. Install it yourself. Done.
  11. Drift Osbourne with some live bait for some fun fishing. Hybrids, specs etc. The bass were biting but dont ask me where. Winning weight was almost 19 pounds Saturday. I sure as hell didnt catch them.
  12. at the pre-tournament briefing for the marshalls/anglers the Wednesday before day one.
  13. besides the big names: kvd, skeet, clunn etc. I would love to ride with a FL boy. Like one of the Lane brothers or Scroggins.
  14. As a marshall! Got chosen for the Harris Chain Tourn in March. Just got my paperwork this weekend. Hoping i get matched with somebody i know of. Regardless i am sure it will be quite the learning experince.
  15. Roland is looking fit and trim these days.
  16. i doubt it. Toho doesnt fish like clear lake. too tempermental. Plus a front coming in. Weights are going to be much lighter Saturday.
  17. I have FC on all my casting reels except my flipping and topwater. Braid for flipping, mono for topwaters. I use berkley 100% FC. No problems.
  18. Are you talking about the monthly, Doug? I plan on fishing the next monthly. Feb 5th it should be.
  19. Decided to try to get a half day in before the rain came. Good call. Caught around 15 with a 6, 5, and several 3's. Fish were Ef AY Tee....FAT. Water was still cool at 56-58 degrees. A few boats out but most were crappie fishing.
  20. sorry, bruce. didnt see this until tonight. I was too busy fishing. Hope you caught them.
  21. I have purchased two seperate items from them. One was a 700 series. The other was a transducer. Both transactions went smoothly. Prompt email and tracking info etc. The item descriptions can be a bit confusing though. I remember some confusion and mis-information in regards to whether a unit had the navionics bundle or not. Confirm model numbers before purchase to make sure you get what you are looking for.
  22. Fished the big fish tourn on Sat. Tough day. 4.2 won it with a 3.3 second. Water was 58 in the AM rising to 59-60 in the afternoon. I flipped start to finish. had 9 bites, caught seven fish, biggest being a 2.2. missed one good one that gave me a very large head shake after hook set. That one hurt.
  23. water was 58 degrees this morning.
  24. are you fishing the monthly on saturday?
