  1. Lol at the jean comments. I know they are his sponsor but his jean 'segments' are ridiculous.
  2. Muddy's butt cheeks. ;D haha.....that was good.
  3. As we prepare for our coldest weather in almost five years......what do you guys think about our beloved peacocks? They have been moving further and further north with these warm winters. Water temp yesterday was 64-66 degrees where i was fishing(Central PBC). I wouldnt be surprised to see it be 57-59 degrees if not lower this week. Hopefully not too much lower. Lets prey they have some deep water to head too. *fingers crossed*
  4. Confidence supercedes color. Sexy shad could be any color.......you guys that have confidence in it would still catch fish with it. Its you guys......not the color. Give yourselves some credit.
  5. you got it!!!!
  6. Stick Farm....Farm Marsh......potatoe, potautoe
  7. Really? I havent seen any spawning pairs yet. Only bucks poking around. Females have been moving up but not on beds yet. This cold weather might delay things a bit too.
  8. I think Perry's fish was an old, mossed back, hawg that ate ospreys and small children. I love the story behind that record so much i hope it is never broken.
  9. haha that made me laugh. poor dad.
  10. and shad.
  11. did you try some solder wire around the front hook? I am not sure if it would work with these baits.....it might throw off the wobble. Just a thought.
  12. hahaha.....so true. And updating your status constantly is completely unecessary. Nobody cares that you are going to take a nap, or eating some pretzels. Get over yourself. *end facebook rant*
  13. Call me crazy......but why dont you give the store a call?
  14. awesome. Garcia is a great place to go when the wind keeps you off Farm. Did you guys throw live bait or artificials?
  15. For those of you that have used the 125 series bait, just how slow does this bait fall? I'm interested in the possibilities this early spring during the normal shad die off/jerkbait season and am wondering about the potential for this bait. These baits obviously have some natural bouyancy that is overridden by the weight causing them to sink and I'm wondering if putting lighter weight trebles would slow the fall slower or if anyone has played around with getting these baits to fall slower than they're designed to. the technique he mentions above is pretty much a jerkbait technique. Twitching on a slack line and such. A common technique for suspending jerk baits (rogue's etc) What is good about the Sebile is that it does those half circles and 180's he mentions. Plus the sink rate is fast enough that you can fish it deeper with longer pauses. It is a very versatile bait.
  16. The spro is my personal favorite. They do have some duds though. Some take on water right out of the box. Some of them arent quite as weedless. Some are perfect. I think i have 10-12 of them in the box right now. There are a couple that are money that i treasure. Also the spros often get ripped down by the hook when fishing on braid. I guess it is to be expected.
  17. Great post but I just don't undestand how your having issues with bad hook ups on the spro. The number one reason why I went to the spro and continue to use it is GREAT hook ups. As long as I give the fish the proper time I'd say 90-95% of the time I've got the fish. Most of the time I'm also setting the hook at a extreme distance as well (thanks braid!). 1. superglue/epoxy at the nose eliminates the water problem from any hollow bodied toad. 2. when you have hooks on your frog that are more easily exposed, you will not be able to fish it in the heavy heavy cover. get a 7'2 - 7'6 stout rod w/ 40-65# braid and if the spro were made out of tire rubber you would still hookup. HIT EM!* *disclaimer, i have broken 7 rods in 2 years on the frog 7 rods in 2 years? haha.....are you clumsy or just doing slack line sets with braid?
  18. it was 62 out when i walked the dog this AM......goes right to your bones.
  19. That tournament is out of Rolands isnt it? That place is going to be jammed. Look at the bright side......you get to see a good tournament and the weigh in's. I would try the lake and if it is too much then i would head south. You could hit Holey Lands WMA straight south on 27.
  20. yeah its a chain pike.
  21. I used to love that chain. Such a cool place to fish with the canals and surrounding houses. Had some great days in those lakes. Glad to hear they are still in there.
  22. hahaha.....imagine when you are creeping along.....flipping.. and you sneak up on one sunning only to have it explode into a panic trying to get into the water.......spraying you and ur boat with hyacinth and water. That is always fun.
  23. agreed. As stated in another thread the c-51 is about the furthest north you will find a decent population of them.
  24. His show has gotten better in the last few years. I remember like 10 years ago i stopped watching because the creative editing was so horrible and so blatantly obvious. I mean he would be throwing a worm and land a fish with a crankbait in its mouth, Or they would use the same hook set footage for multiple fish. They still do that occasionally, but it is not as bad as it used to be.
