  1. Yes you have to reel up the excess slack slowly but not so fast that you take all the slack out of the line.
  2. Trim 3/4 of an inch off both legs and cut on an angle with the points to the outside. You have to twitch the rod tip pretty fast leaving slack in the line. Takes a little practice but fairly easy.
  3. Weightless I use a Superline EWG Trokar 4/0 over shallow grass. If fishing deeper points I like a keel weighted 1/8 oz Mustad Ultra Point screw lock.
  4. Spro
  5. Cant help but think Warmouth..
  6. Blue gill colored swim jig without question.
  7. Swim Jig has taking over for the most part but I still throw a spinnerbait if its windy or if the water is pretty stained.
  8. Just a guess but the fish dont know if your using matching brand trailers so I would say no.
  9. It's become my favorite bait to punch mats and trash. It holds a heavy flipping hook better than any other bait I have ever used.
  10. You will increase your odds of hooking the fish in the roof of the mouth using a straight shank hook and a snell knot.
  11. Swimming fluke yes. A standard fluke would be pretty useless on a swim jig.
  12. That yum bargain bin is filled with weird off the wall baits. Brush hog knock offs, coffe scented tubes, coffee scented lizards, swimbaits, crawz. I'm not sure what the deal is but they are all cheap as heck.
  13. Over the last two years a swim jig has climed up there as one of my go to techniques. I have always struggled mentally fishing a standard flipping jig. The areas I fish are mostly shallow vegetation so I usually opt for a tx rigged plastic for these areas. I am fishing some new areas where fish feed heavily on crawfish on a delta system with a lot of shoreline wood cover. I plan on spending much more time pitching a jig in these areas vs a standard soft plastic creature to help gain confidence in the bait. I feel like my confidence in swim jigs may finally give me the confidence to stick with the jig longer. Did anyone else use swim jig success to shake the demons of fishing a regular jig?
  14. I dont know the exact numbers but a very high percentage of every fish I have caught over 4 lbs has been on a frog or buzzbait.
  15. Switch to a heavy flipping hook or superline EWG or go woit flouro on a MH set up. Easy fix
  16. Northstar -New Gill for perch color with zoom green pumpkin fat albert trailer. Northstar - common shad with zoom disco shad fat albert trailer
  17. Swimming a fluke or any small soft body swimbait through vegetation is a deadly technique when the shad bite is hot as well as swimming a jig. I use a Musted powerlock 1/16 oz weighted swimbait hook.
  18. Don't think it was designed to have action. I have caught some pigs on this bait that did not seem to mind the amputated legs!
  19. If you want to try something a little different then a lizard try an eastern newt (Bed Bandit). I'm not going off the deep and saying you will never buy another zoom lizard but they are prety productive.
  20. Once you get to that level they are all good. I do not think one series has better anglers over the other.
  21. Yeah I would always fast forward through Marty Stones rambling about the same stuff every show. Other than that I like it alot. I paused and zoomed in on KVD fishing the jerkbait and it was a megabass vision 110 not a strike king jerkbait..
  22. I wear one for a couple reasons. To promote my sponsor but aside from that they are super lightweight and comfortable and I can wear a long sleeve for sun protection without getting too hot. I've worn a lot of fishing shirts in the past but none as comfortable as a quality wicking jersey from gemini, rayjus etc. If I did not have a sponsor to promote I would probably have a plain colored one just for the comfort.
  23. What???????? You cant be serious..Zoom lizards catch as many or more than RAGE?? No way.. Just kidding of course. My zoom lizards catch them just fine.
