  1. I can get a new in box curado 201b for $80. I know this reel is several years old and was wondering if this is a good deal. Thanks.
  2. Blade baits, i.e. silver buddies and heddon sonars. Considered a winter lure for vertical jigging but works great as a cast and reel bait as well. One of the best baits i've used for extra heavy current like nears lock systems. Plus they catch anything that swims. Hopkins type spoons work similarly.
  3. I might be needing one also next year for the federation buddy trail. My current partner is having a young'un and may not fish next year. I'll be fishing the southern division. I also fish a few club events.
  4. Nope, I'm not in your club. I ended up finishing 5th with 7.61lbs. Thanks to everybody who responded.
  5. If it were a little less swift I would definitely lock up, but the spot I would like to fish will practically be rapids. I still may lock up and fish the lower to middle section on the chelyan pool. As rough as the kanawha has been lately it probably wont matter so much where I go, I might just need to maximize my time.
  6. I've gotten scoffed at pulling up to some of the larger tournaments in my little tin boat, and I love that look of suprize on the guys faces who drive $50,000 rigs when they see a nice bag weighed out of a little ol' tracker
  7. Im getting ready to fish our final regular season tournament to hopefully qualify for an invitational tourney later in the year. We're fishing a medium sized river (Kanawha river in WV). The water is probably going to be up, fast moving, and muddy. Most tourneys are won with smallies on this river. How would you fellas approach it. I'll get to practice on Saturday and the event is Sunday. Thanks in advance.
  8. KVD, in my opinion is the best of all time. I also find myself pulling for Bill Lowen. He comes off as a very down to earth guy, and is a terrific river fisherman. I've seen him interviewed on a couple shows telling how he got started in the big league, almost brought me to tears.
  9. Was it offered at a discounted price at the expo? I know sometimes you can get better deals at events like that. I have a hunting and fishing show coming up near here in a week and was wondering if I should wait to order one. I'd hate to give 150 for it and see it for 115 in a few days.
  10. At least one money finish in a major local circuit (WVBF or Trail of Dreams). Finish the season in the top 20 in my local division. Become more confident in deep structure fishing. Become more confident in lipless cranks. Catch better quality fish during the dog days of summer, seems like 2lbs was about the best I could do this July/August.
