  1. I use 10-12lb Seaguar Invizx
  2. I have used it. It is pretty good. Decently manageable and strong. Too much memory without line conditioner. Apparently, they have changed manufactors and its now being made by Seaguar. My favorite fluoro hands down is Seaguar Invizx.
  3. Same here. I love spinnerbaits and look to use them any chance I get. The lipless crankbait can be used in the same manner and locations, just slightly deeper. Both are go-to baits for me along with a weightless fluke. I can use those 3 baits and catch 99% of my fish.
  4. I have 2 search baits that I have tied on all the time and use first. A spinnerbait and a lipless crankbait.
  5. I believe in using one company for all my rods and reels. You get familiar with certain characteristics that each company has. For example, all my rods and reels are Quantum. I will be getting new rods in the near future and they will all be from one manufacture. I dont like having to re-learn new things and tendencies while fishing or anything for that matter.
  6. Yes. Thats a great rod for those applications.
  7. I spray the line while its still on its spool, then I spool the reel and spray the line again 2-3 times while spooling.
  8. 7' MH/moderate Quantum KVD Tour cranking rod.
  9. They only difference for me is the structure. I look for steep drop offs and rock/gravel for smallies. The equipment and lures stay the same.
  10. Its a momentary thing. When the spinnerbait comes in contact with something, say, a log, you just make it stop for a split second, then resume reeling. You dont have to always do that though. You can come into contact with something and continue to reel it in. Both work.
  11. Thats crazy. I gotta check out Cabelas
  12. Its definitely good to go. I have been using the same 20lb Invizx on my reel for 3 seasons in a row and I have zero issues with breaking, fraying, or memory. KVD line conditioner makes a difference.
  13. How in the world did you get that for only $209?
  14. I'm very surprised to see so many dont have confidence in spinnerbaits. Its one of my go to baits since forever.
  15. deep crankbaits
  16. I use Quantum exclusively and my go to spinning reel at the moment is the last Quantum Tour Edition PTi30. I use 8lb fluoro on a 6'10" M/F rod and the reel is amazing. The smoothness and the drag is fantastic. Last April I caught a 7.5lb brown trout off my boat in a local reservoir and the reel NEVER let me down. It handled the furious rushes under the boat and the 3ft jumps out of the water for the 10 minute fight. It was one of the most thrilling fishing experiences of my life. You had to be there to appreciate it. The Quantum reels, especially the high end stuff, is top notch.
  17. Not a shimano fan buy d**n!
  18. I would use a jerkbait, a grub, and a weightless fluke.
  19. I use fluoro on all my setups. I'm gonna give braid a try this season on my spinning reel, but I'll stick to fluoro on my baitcasters. I keep an extra spool of mono in my bag for when I throw a topwater bait, which isnt too often.
  20. I've always been hesitant to take a reel apart and really clean and re-lube it because of all the parts, but i just finished 10 of my reels in the last 10 or so days. I thoroughly cleaned everything and applied Hot Sauce grease and oil and Abu Garcia silicone grease as well. They are now better then new. So smooth and effortless. I actually enjoyed doing it. I wish I had more to do. lol. Some advice I can offer is take pics of the different stages of disassembling of the reel. Also, lay them down in the order that you removed them and take pics of that too. Use the reel schematic that comes in the box. Use Just enough grease and oil. I use the Hot Sauce grease for metal gears and Abu Garcia grease for the plastic gears. Hot Sauce oil for the bearings, spool shaft, and handle knobs. Its really simple. BTW, my reels are all Quantum PT Energy, Tour Edition, Smoke, EXO, Catalyst.
  21. Funny thing is, its probably the exact same line.
  22. Its impossible. Dont fight it
  23. great reels. either one will be good. The 150 hold more line
