  1. You can find these all day on the forums and eBay for around $70-$80. As was mentioned, these are sought after by people in the know. And like I said, they are very well made reels. Solid ass reels. I will never get rid of mine. I just cleaned and re-lubed all of mine a few months ago and they are better then new. This is the reel that came right after the one above it. I have never used it before but I have the same generation Catalyst PT and Tour Edition PT and they are great reels as well. Smaller, lighter, and very smooth. Another solid reel. I wouldnt hesitate to purchase one. They can be had on eBay right now for under $100 new. This is the latest Energy Pt. I have never used one or even held one, but its light at 6.9oz and if its anything like a Smoke or EXO, then its pretty much a great reel. These can be had on eBay for $120 new. Personally, I like a little weight to a reel. I'm not into the latest fad of having the lightest reel out.
  2. This one? If so, I have 5 of them and have fished them for the last 6 yrs. Great reels. Very well built. Heavy, but quality.
  3. The Lews Mg is 7.9oz and the Energy is 6.9oz. I'm a Quantum guy so I'd personally go for the new Energy Pt.
  4. You know what got me ticked? They had everything that everyone was saying was on clearance but they only discounted them $.50. Thats not clearance or anywhere near the prices people are claiming to receive. Heres an example. They both had Mustand KVD treble hook. The 6 pack. DSG had them for regual price of $5.69 discounted to $4.97. Walmart had them for for $5.99 regular price and the clearance price was $5. I was so ticked because I was expecting a much cheaper price. I think I heard on here that they were going for $2 at some of their Walmarts.
  5. Seaguar now manufactures the XPS fluoro.
  6. DSG used to be my go to spot for great prices. I'm disappointed that my spot didnt have any Xcalibur baits on sale. They make some of my favorite baits.
  7. I would wait for a discount from TW and buy all *** rods and reels.
  8. What a shame. I was at my local DSG and to say I was disappointed would be an understatement. They had nothing on sale. Everyone has been talking for weeks now how good the deals are there and at Walmart and they both failed me. BIG TIME!
  9. I use 20lb Seaguar Invizx
  10. DSG used to be good. I was there yesterday hoping to buy some stuff and I was disappointed.
  11. Thanks guys!
  12. I have several jigs that have their rubber band melted from heat or just being too old. I'm gonna have to buy new skirts for some too. Instead of buying new rubber bands, what is the best wire to hand tie them with?
  13. It depends on a lot of things, but more times then not, I always have these 4 tied on from the beginning: -jerkbait -spinnerbait -lipless crankbait -weightless 5" Zoom fluke w/ 3/0 EWG hook.
  14. weightless 5" Zoom fluke. 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook. Killer
  15. I just want to get better at understanding what I'm looking at on my graph. Fishing deeper structure. Learning where to fish deep crankbaits.
  16. I use both, but predominately use Invizx. Invizx is a fluorocarbon line. YoZuri Hybrid is a co-polymer line like P-line CXX, but more supple and manageable. I like fluoro(Invizx) because its more sensitive, very easy and smooth casting, invisible in the water, less memory too. YoZuri Hybrid is very strong line. Compared to P-Line CXX, its way more supple and easy casting. It does have a lot of memory, but that can be taken care of with KVD line conditioner(a must with fluoros and co-polymers)
  17. I cleaned everything and then re-lubed everything with Hot Sauce grease and oil.
  18. grease on gears, oil on bearings and spool shaft.
  19. I like a shorter rod for jerkbaits and a slightly longer rod for square bills and lipless cranks. If I had to get one rod to cover both, I'd go with a 7' MH-moderate rod.
  20. My stuff stays in my room. My reels are in a dresser draw.
  21. I just disassembled, cleaned and re-lubed one of my spinning reels and it is not running as smooth as before. There is a little noise when spinning it. I know I did everything correctly, too. I just did the same thing with 10 bait casters and they run better then new. BTW, I havent used that spinning reel in years. I just used it as a platform for learning how to service it. Its practically a new reel.
