  1. they way i palm my reel makes me love these reel seats . all the rods i have made for me will have this reel seat ( except spinning rods !!) it is all about how you hold the reel is what determines if you will like this reel seat . the way i palm my reel is i only have my ring finger and pinkie on the reel seat and even tho i have thick fingers , they fit perfectly
  2. that is the reason that i want to get last years model SX . i am putting a handle from a Skeet Reese model on my SX , i also hate the short handles ( on all baitcasters , that is why i bought an Inshore also)
  3. when i throw them on a carolina rig , i'm fishing deep . i fish them in 20-50 ft. of water . i use them in place of dropshotting deep water . i find i get more bites with the larger profile of the lizard then with a worm ...
  4. that's how you learn new things , we all can learn new things , i know i want to
  5. carolina rigged , the only time i throw them ...
  6. if i were you and i wanted a rod out of the legend tourn. series for flipping and pitching , i would get the 7'3" heavy fast action (LTBC73XHF) , i like a heavy powered rod with a fast tip to get good hook sets when i flip and punch mats . those rods are light and plenty strong , you could pitch all day with out a sore shoulder the next day !!! even if you go to another rod brand , in my opinion , you would be better off with a heavy powered , fast action blank ........
  7. i'm pretty sure it is the japanese term for shakey head fishing
  8. i just may have to go up there then !!!
  9. post a review when you do fish with it , i haven't seen any user reviews on it , i'm kinda curious about this line ...
  10. i highly doubt a rod made with a NFC blank is gonna come anywhere near under $150.00 !!! just the blank alone is gonna be around $250-$300 ....
  11. it telescopes between the reel seat and the first guide up from the reel seat ...
  12. buddy , you just made a true upgrade , you will know it when you hold it in your hands . when you fish it , it will make you wish you bought the legend tourn. in the first place step up to ultra sensistivity , light weight and strength ...........
  13. the episode i saw , he caught a 10+ lber. on a rayburn red dancin' eel i fish at Lake Dixon , i know a little bit about pressured lakes !!! ;D ;D ;D
  14. here is some more on it http://tackletog.com/news/2010/02/04/invisaswivel-a-fluorocarbon-swivel/
  15. craw papi and chigger craw
  16. 10 lbs. 9 ozs.
  17. They have warranties. Why should a warranty cover consumer mistakes? Was just saying. then you wonder why these companies don't honor warranties or even worse , don't offer warranties : you know doing the things you mentioned is a form of fraud and all of us has to get hit with the repercussions >
  18. also might try this shop - http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/index.php
  19. thats how most companies are . you are talking about the handle grips , i assume . i wanted to buy some from abu garcia a while ago but they said they only sell the handle and grips as one whole piece , same story from quantum ... for $26.00 , seems like the best bet or post in the flea market that you are WTB (want to buy )
  20. any reel that you use in salt water you should have cleaned and lubed a few times a year , more then what you would do for a freshwater reel !! just rinsing it isn't enough .....
  21. glad to see your turning it up a notch !! as far as reccomendations for gear , give people a price range you are looking at (budget) that way people can better hekp you . and welcome to the forum
  22. that is true of the SX , it is money , i can cast the SX farther than any reel i have ever casted , and now that i'm gonna have it "super tuned" , it is gonna FLY !!!!
  23. all that is different is the handle like you said , the SX did not get the dual cast control .
  24. i use the Revo Inshore , holds 175 yards of 12 lb. line , built like a tank , 24 lbs. of drag , size 10 frame (same size as the stx , sx , s , etc...) love this reel , i use it primarily for bass , but also fish with it for bay bass and calicos . a great all around reel . here is a review - http://www.tackletour.com/reviewabugarciarevoinshore.html
