  1. Creme lit'l fishie ..... yes , they catch fish !!!!
  2. try the River2Sea bubble popper , here is the link http://www.***.com/River2Sea_Bubble_Popper/descpage-RSBP.html#pImage pic below-
  3. i use stretchy gauze tape on the spool , just a little bit to cover the spool , then tie an arbor knot with the braid and spool it up ( i use a full spool of braid on my reels ) below is the type of guaze tape i use .....
  4. i used 30 lb. power pro on my revo sx for a year and a half and it worked great , no digging issues ..........
  5. i only use "buzz frogs" , the soft plastic ones , not the hollow bodied ones . that said , i use a slow steady retrieve , just enough to get the legs churning . ALWAYS keep your rod tip up !!! that is the key to getting hookups . by having the rod tip up you will create a downward bow in the line (the line will bow towards the water surface ) that will do 2 things for you . 1.- it will keep your line off the water keeping your bait the only thing in the water for the bass to see . 2. - it will give you slack in the line so that when the bass hit your frog , it will not be pulled from the bass's mouth allowing you to set the hook when the strike happens cause of the slack line .
  6. mono does sink , it just sinks slow. anyway use a good co-poly line like Izorline XXX , Gamma co-poly , or P-line CXX . Triple Fish is okay , it has a ton of memory tho , the guys who use it usually replace it after every outing , it is cheap so it ain't a problem . with those small baits , 15 lb. line would be fine , and if you go with braid , 50 lb. power Pro would be plenty .( with baits that size , i have thrown them on 12 lb. CXX ..............
  7. the dicks sporting goods (the only one in Ca. ) doesn't have ANY fishing stuff , NONE !! what a waste ..... >
  8. get the medium heavy ...........
  9. your just looking for an excuse cause she spanked you just teasing you !!! ;D ;D ;D
  10. i like these kind of "scents" for use on swimbaits , i use them more as a "lube" to make the baits appear as tho they have a slime coat and to make them go through grass better , also to enhance the "flavor" when a bass bites them !! only thing is , i have never used Megastrike , i use Pro Cure Super Gel http://www.***.com/Pro_Cure_Super_Gel/descpage-PCSG.html
  11. i picked 76 %-100% ..i usually pay full price for tackle (baits , lures , soft plastics) because the baits are never on sale !!! i don't shop the bargin bins and i don't like the cheap baits (not that i buy expensive stuff either !) i just get what i know i need and want . but when it comes to reels , i prefer to get them off e-bay , from excellent sellers like Lakeside Reels , United Outdoors , etc... , all NIB deals . as for rods , getting custom made rods , there is no such thing as "below retail" ;D
  12. this frog is , in my opinion , the best frog i have ever tried ( i have used ALOT of different frogs , trust me !!) it is a "buzz" frog like horny toads and rage toads , meaning they sink . i rig them with a 5/0 Owner twist lock hook and cast them on 50 lb. braid , these frogs have a bigger profile then most "flat" frogs and they cast ALOT further !! buy a pack and i bet you will love them they are made by Canyon Plastics , get the 4.5" frogs , my favorite color is "grasshopper" ... here is the link and a picture below http://www.***.com/Canyon_Plastics_Frog/descpage-CPF.html
  13. don't be hesitant to go with the bigger baits , they WILL catch you fish
  14. that bait is not made to be "walked" , it is just a "throw it out there and twitch it , deadstick bait" ... btw , baits that have a bill (diving lip ) and are not somewhat smooth on the bottom are not going to be able to be walked . they have to be be able to glide on top of the water .
  15. they are easy to find , here are some from BPS http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_7977_151005006_151000000_151005000_151-5-6 and here are some from cabelas http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20166-cat20295_TGP&id=0002176312428a&navCount=3&podId=0002176&parentId=cat20295&masterpathid=&navAction=push&catalogCode=IA&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat20295&hasJS=true
  16. that is how it is in a lake i fish alot , the rest of the lake has grass everywhere !! it is the only spot i can work a jig nice and slow . shell beds are excellent for working a jig with a crawdad trailer , i like throwing a 3/8 oz. jig with a crawpapi in brown and orange and green pumpkin and orange .
  17. most all baitcasters have that . they don't make them too tight so as that when you crank down the drag , the handle assembly will still turn freely . as for your handle grips/paddles , if nthey are the removable type , see if they are looose and if so , tighten them down . with those reels having only 4 bearings , it is safe to assume that they don't have bearing supported handles so it might be that the bushings are wearing a little . if possible , maybe see about replacing the bushings with bearings , might help out alot and make them a heck of a lot smoother
  18. as for which reel to use , check out the Revo Inshore . this reel holds 175 yards of 12 lb. line , has alll the drag you will need and is smooth and very solid ......
  19. try some nail weights and a bigger treble hook , try a 1/0
  20. the Owners are only $3.49 for a 5 pack !!! http://www.***.com/Owner_Straight_Shank_Wide_Gap_3X_Flippin_Hook/descpage-OSHWG.html
  21. don't meen to disagree with you Matt but mike long is not #1 .. i do hear from alot of people that he does catch alot of big bass on live crawdads though ............. :
  22. here is a suggestion for a good top water rod , Shimano Clarus Spinning Rod 6'6" Med EF Taper ......
  23. a soft , fast tip . preferably an extra-fast tip !! as for the power of the rod , it depends on the weight of the lure . if you are using a super spook jr. , use a medium powered casting rod . if you are throwing a 10" lunker punker , use a heavy or extra-heavy powered swimbait rod !!! so the power of the rod will relate to the lure weight and the action you can get on the lure will relate ONLY to the tip action and taper (meaning a fast or extra-fast tip ) ....... hope that explains things for you
  24. a "proprietary polymer blend" ..........
