  1. are the 3rd and 4th baits 30acre ?
  2. the orra winch will be great for swimbaits as you'll be able to put a good amout of 15-20 lb. line on it . for square bill crankbats i perfer a 6.4:1 gear ratio as i like to fish them a tad faster than deep diving crankbaits which a 5.4:1 gear ratio is more perfered/
  3. to me , Gamma Torque is very , very similar to Samuari , but more stronger . i don't care for really soft braid as i like to have a tad more body to it . the thing i hear a lot with smackdown is that it's thin but no as strong as most braids lb. rating, you have to up size your line so you can't take advantage of the small diameter or you will be breaking off ...
  4. even though i don't care for dobyns rods , i know there is quite a few that do , you put together a good review
  5. meant to say 8' H/F, that's a new blank
  6. scored on (3) 10'' MattLures Dead Twitch swimbaits for $30 each !! at the tackle expo in Long Beach ,Ca today i stopped by the American Tackle booth and was given some stuff to try out , (2) sets of MicroWave casting guide sets , one is the standard casting guides and the other is a Micro guide set plus a spool of Bushido flourocarbon , 16lb. line feels pretty good , very smooth , not much stretch , pretty supple for that lb. test , i'll see how it works out !!
  7. are you talking about the 25 size which is equal to a 1000 size i use a Patriarch 9525 , i use 6-10 lb. braid with a long leader of flouro , i love the reel as it weighs only 5.6 oz. and works flawlessly . i don't see my self ever needing a bigger spinning reel ...
  8. went to a fishing expo in Long Beach,Ca today and checked out the NFC 8' HM blanks and was sadly dissapointed , no power in the blanks whatsoever ( MB 806 - 809 hm ) , did check out the Bushido blanks , very impressed !!!!
  9. i just had a 707ML built , the rod is sweet !!! i throw wacky rigged stickbaits , jerkbaits , heavy shakey heads , and small shallow crankbaits . i will be getting the 707H soon to get built . i love the Ultra MBX line , also waiting for the Recon Elite blanks to come out , want to look in to the 8' MH & maybe the 7'9'' H ...
  10. i would always be leery of a bait that the factory making them can make 1,000,000 a month ...
  11. appreciate the honest review of the tatsu , good write up
  12. what did you go with ???
  13. research and read reviews
  14. yep , that's it in a nutshell . they do have a nice print ! fish it , you might like it . actually they didn't do any thing to it , that's how they come , this is staight off the Alibaba site
  15. reason i pointed it out that it was a cheap chinese bait is that most every swimbait fisher wants a bait designed and made by a swimbait fisherman so that you know it's been tested , tuned , and has quality control and also very important is that the bait is backed up by the company as far as warranty and repair , basically great customer service !!! i just couldn't trust a company that slaps their name on a chinese mass produced bait . why do you think most glide baits cost a lot of money ? because most are hand made and hand tuned though there are some glide baits that are more reasonably priced , people might chime in with some good options like J.Francho did .
  16. that's that chinese bait that was talked about for a second in another post , think they cost $ 6 on alibaba ... by the way , not trying to sound harsh but that is not very realistic , there are a LOT more baits out there that are way more realistic ... EDIT : they are $1.85 -$2.50 , check the pic below --
  17. for Hudds you want a slower grear ratio , around a 5.1:1 - 5.4:1 most perferable
  18. i have been switching all my braided lines to hi-vis yellow , braid or line color is not an issue at all relating to fish seeing it , i use the hi-vis yellow for my own visibility
  19. that 7'ML takes a 4.5 tip top.
  20. for 6 inch straight tails , i put them in snack size ziplocks ..
  21. not that familar with the Magtrax braking system but i just went out side in the rain after i spooled up the reel with 30lb. 832 i had lying around and set the brakes low and casted a few times and pitched a 3/8 weight , i must say this reel is pretty good casting !! you get effortless casts and the braking system is pretty pitching friendly , and long casts are easy with it . hope to get on the water soon to really get a better feel of it but for now i'm thinking it was a good investment i put it on my 7'10 Rainshadow H/F , it matches the titanium chrome blank finish pretty good .
  22. yes they both share the same frame , wasn't working today so i went to the tackle shop and picked up the ALX ( 8.0:1 left handed ) and while i was there i took some comparison photos of it next to a few reels . the first one is next to a Pixy Type R , the next one is an Alderbaran 50 , and the last is a Tatula CT. yes the frame on the ALX and MGX2 is smaller than the original MGX .
  23. the ALX has the smallest frame on the market , the frame size will be shared with the MGX2 . it has the same width as the Alderbaran but is shorter by about 3/4''
