  1. anybody here use ''evolution'' by p-line , and is it strong as cxx ??? i like the smoke silver color , the lake i fish at is pretty much crystal clear . i want to try 20 and 25 # tests . i would appreciate it if i can get responses from people who have used both , thanks
  2. with out a doubt , a frog !!
  3. canyon plastics 4.5'' frog , in ''grasshopper'' color . THE best frogs made !!!!!! http://www.***.com/descpageFROGSCP-CPF.html
  4. For real??? No brainer then I've got to try the XPS. If I'm not mistaken, XPS fluorocarbon is manufactured by Toray. There are only a handfull of fluorocarbon manufacturers in Germany and Japan. while i was attending a seminar at a tackle shop , i was told this by a pro who is actually sponsored by Toray , he said Seaguar makes the XPS flouro for BPS .
  5. when i want the weight pegged i use Bullet Weights Screw in weights . they are simple to use and can do it easily from shore or boat and not have to worry about the fuss with little pegs and toothpicks and such .
  6. you can't go wrong with BPS flouro , it is made by Seaguar ....
  7. how much line does that 200gtb hold ?? from just quickly looking at it on tackle warehouse , it seems it only holds roughly about 140-150 yards of 14# . to me that ain't much line when you actually spool it with 20-25 # line , that's why i went ahead and got a REVO TORO ....
  8. that's what i do with my frogs ( CANYON PLASTICS 4.5'' FROGS ) when they get tore up i just save them and take em' home to later repair . thanks btw, the stuff i bought ( Pro's soft bait glue ) is endorsed by none other than Roland Martin ;D ;D ;D
  9. that reel is huge and heavy , i was reading the review on tackle tour . why don't you consider a REVO TORO or a CURADO 300E , i just bought a REVO TORO 51 , should be here tues. , i can't wait !!!! but any how , it's your money , those reels are not cheap . i just couldn't see doing 4-5 hundred casts with that big ol' reel (pluton) , that would wear you down
  10. from my understanding is that the ''gulp'' liquid is the same wether it is used for salt water or fresh water , the only difference is that the baits are different ( sardines, crabs, ect.. for saltwater / worms and such for freshwater ) ...
  11. thanks , i'm gonna return this stuff and get some mend-it . i appreciate it
  12. does Mend-it melt the plastic together or does it ''glue'' it , there for making the bait brittle ???
  13. i recently bought some "PRO'S SOFT BAIT GLUE " and tried it out on some frogs and i was very dissapointed to say the least !!!! this stuff comes in a 1/2 oz. bottle for $8.69 . did i just buy a VERY expensive bottle of super glue , cause it dried the same way ; very brittle !! was wondering if '' MEND-IT " is the same kind of product ( dries like super-glue) and if so is there any other product on the market that will work like the company says it does on the bottle ???? what do you guys use for fixing your soft plastics besides using a lighter and melting them back together ? cause i have tried that but that way only seems to work for 1 or 2 fish then it is torn again :-/ anyhow , if i can get some reccomendations i'd appreciate it , thanks ...
  14. go to wal-mart and get a backpack , when i went , i first grabbed some plano 370's and then headed to the backpacks . i got a good one for $20.0 it fits 3 of the 370's in the main compartment and also holds my stuffed browning jumbo plastics binder in the other compartment and then have 2 5''x9'' terminal tackle trays fit in another pocket AND in front of that pocket i stuff all my misc. stuff like pliers , scale , tape measure , scissors , and other small stuff. THEN there are two pockets on either side that i keep spools of line and the other holds my lead and tungsten weights . anyhow , you will find one at wal-mart for alot less than the backpacks sold for just fishing , just my opinion , i love mine .....
  15. didn't meen to be a @#$% , but the line was fresh , the rod was made the previous week (first time fished) , and the water is very clear , only some grass but no structure or rocks . i think it was a bad line cause i didn't backlash the line and the line didn't break at the knot . anyhow i am gonna either go to 25# or 30# cxx or try out the yo-zuri . was hoping someone had used that # test in yo-zuri . anyone ???
  16. i assume your talking about a spinning reel , so look on your reel rotor and it should give you line reccomendations . your most likely line size would be 4-8 # . use the same ratings for flouro as mono ..
  17. O-P-E-R-A-T-O-R E-R-R-O-R It 's very easy to to put the blame on the product, it makes you feel good and if there 's somene you can blame for your neglect you will do it. If you never check the condition of your line you will continue to experience such problems no matter which line you are fishing with. A couple of my reels have CXX spooled in, the ones I use to fish the really nasty stuff ........ I uproot stumps with 12 lb test. some one please tell me how this could of been my fault , i was fishing open water and just re-spooled that morning ....
  18. wich line is stronger ? i want to use this for swimbaits . i just had 20# cxx snap about 20 yds. up my line while fishing a 8'' hudd . just want some input as to wich line would be better . this will be spooled on a Toro model 50 ( 14/200) so line capacity is not too much of an issue . i am looking at 20 , 25 , and 30 lb. test lines . anybody use these # tests in Yo-zuri hybrid ?? any help would be appreciated
  19. FOR A WAKE JR. , I WOULDN'T USE ANYTHING LESS THAN 25# MONO OR CO-POLYMER LINE . I JUST LOST A 8'' HUD THE OTHER DAY USING 20LB. CXX > . SO FROM NOW ON IT'S 25 OR MAYBE EVEN 30 LB. LINE FOR ME . AND no , it didn't break at the knot , it actually broke about 20 yards up the line . thinking about not using p-line anymore , i don't know :-/
  20. i had Larry make me a swimbait rod , it was supposed to be a 3-8 oz. rod but he ended up making me a 2-6 oz. rod , called him up and told him about it and he said '' you are right '' asked if i wanted to return it and i told him '' no way !!'' , i'll keep it but make me the 3-8 oz. , he gave me a discount on the 3-8 oz. rod so now i have 2 swimbait rods . i fished the 2-6 oz. rod and it is great for hudds and the bbz . just got the 3-8 oz. today so im gonna have to test it out tomorrow any how , Larry is great to deal with and every time i called i got thru to him , he makes sweet rods and has excellent prices , i highly recommend him (Gblanks). 8-)
  21. i have never eaten a bass (fresh water) before and never will , if i want to eat a bass , i'll go to the store and buy some white sea bass. 110 % catch and release ..............
  22. i do that every time i fish , have you tried it ??? mine works perfectly 8-)
  23. gimmick rods ???? , PLEASE , i catch 3-7 lb. fish on my carrot stix all the time . my carrot stix is super light and has a ton of backbone . people need to stop , do you see me complaining about g.loomis rods ( i actually would never buy one cause they are heavy and have funky grips ) but i don't go bashing . do you really expect me or other people to stop liking and fishing our carrot stix cause of this or things that other people say , guess again ........... 8-)
