  1. they are the top ones , look just like duo-locks .
  2. nothing can beat frog fishing !!! specially when you have paused it and your eyes wander off the frog cause your checking the next possible location to cast to , then WHAM , you see and feel the explosion and force you self to hesitate for a second then set the hook and feel the monster pulling back ..... dang , i want to go throw some frogs !!!!
  3. was wondering if these hold up , i just picked up a pack of size 3 at BPS tues. night for $1.99 . i usaully use BPS offshore angler dou-lock snaps . has anyone had opening problems with these . would like to hear it if you have experience with them . btw , i have been recently been using Norman magnum speed clips , been using them for swimbaits and they hold up great !!!
  4. 10'' powerworm(black , green pumpkin , or black grape ) rigged with an OWNER oversized worm hook in 7/0 using BULLETWEIGHTS screw-in sinkers 1/16-3/8 oz. either in black or green ...
  5. you might want to think about a longer rod , i used to think a 7' rod would be plenty long but ever since i got my swimbait rods , wich are both 7' 11'' , i now want to get a 7' 6'' MH and a 7' 6'' MED. . btw , i use my 2-6 oz. swimbait rod for throwing frogs and the long length really helps with getting super long , accurate casts . just my opinion.....
  6. when i use shiners or bluegill as bait , i use a treble hook , size 2 for shiners and either a 1/0 or 2/0 for bluegill depending on the size of the blue gill . you will pretty much never have the bass swallow the hook , most times you will hook them in the top of the mouth or on the gill bone structure . where i fish i have shown everybody there and they have all converted to trebles and love them .....
  7. i find that yo-zuri (6 #) sinks way to much as i was using it for fishing for bluegills and i was making long casts . when i go to retrieve the line (with bobber) it drags the bobber down and a ton of slop with it . btw , i was using the ulta-soft . so i might try the stuff in 10# or 12# on my baitcaster . but there are alot of other lines that i think i would go to before the yo-zuri .... as far as CXX goes , i was using it for swim baits but recently went to a line that is much more managable , IZORLINE XXX !!!! this line is very strong also and you don't have the nightmare slinkyness of CXX . i only like CXX in 10# and under , anything else , no thanks ...........
  8. x2 on using trout colored baits where there is no trout , i have been killing them on spro 8'' wake baits in a lake/pond that has never seen a trout . but imitating a shad in shad waters will get you plenty of bass !!!!
  9. definely get a high speed version , i use a REVO SX 7.1:1 and it works excelllant to get the fish from digging into the grass and muck . plus you can skim the fish over the grass with such a fast retrieve , i am a true believer in getting the fish ton the boat/shore/dock as soon as you can .
  10. i forgot to call today , but i think i just got to buy the handle along with the grips . i am pretty sure they will fit , i currently have a BPS power handle on my REVO SX , but i put the revo sx grips on the power handle , yes , including the ball bearings that came with the sx handle/grips . so im figuring that they will go right on .
  11. i guess i should of asked if any one has bought these eva grips seperately and how much they cost , i'll just call ABU GARCIA tomorrow , thanks
  12. anyone know if abu garcia is selling them seperatly , they would look sweet on my sx !!!
  13. let me know when you find out please !!!! is it gonna be in southern ca. ????? :-?
  14. love your new bait , BUUUUUTTTTTT , are you gonna make a super realistic 8-12'' jointed trout bait , aahhh , i'm dying tryin' to be patient !!!!! i guess i'll have to talk to you at the bass-a-thon
  15. i had posted the same question awhile back cause i wanted an all black rod set-up , i finally figured it wouldn't work out like i wanted it too so i had rods made for me with EVA split grips , good luck tho , try it and post how it comes out .
  16. try a spro 8'' floater , and if you like to run them a few feet down , try the spro slow sink . as soon as i get some tackle money i'm gonna get another (slow sink) , lost mine to a backlash , but anyhow , the spro's are good baits (8'' swimbait) never tried the tiny ones . btw , talk to Larry (G-BLANKS) about making you a REAL swimbait rod !!! i use both of mine ALL the time ...
  17. actually i wanted it on there , so i didn't inquire about it not being there .
  18. they are both built with RAINSHADOW blanks they were each(from G-BLANKS, wrapped ) about $185.00 shipped to my door !!! these rods are VERY nice , i'm gonna get a 4-10 oz. built probably in sept. , maybe sooner if the $$$ is right !!!!! How would that blank compare to a shikari blank? Better, Worse, Same never fished a shikari blank/rod but they are VERY much like a Loomis .
  19. you asked about other frogs to try , try CANYON PLASTICS 4.5'' frog , they cast VERY far , can fish them slow or fast , they slowly sink and cause they have a pointy nose , you can jerk them like a fluke and they dart around then glide . i've been killing them lately on these , i used to use them a few years ago but couldn't find any more locally ( didn't have the computer yet ) but now a semi-local tackle shop stocks them so every time i go to the seminars they have each month ( this month Randy McAbee form team Dobyns is speaking about crankbaits ) at this shop , i buy 4-5 bags !!! the link -http://www.***.com/descpageFROGSCP-CPF.html
  20. they are both built with RAINSHADOW blanks they were each(from G-BLANKS, wrapped ) about $185.00 shipped to my door !!! these rods are VERY nice , i'm gonna get a 4-10 oz. built probably in sept. , maybe sooner if the $$$ is right !!!!!
  21. i am having trouble making the pictures big enough to see , any help would be appreciated !!!
  22. just wanted to share my new swimbait rods with you guys . there has been alot of discussion about traditional rods but not much said about swimbait rods , both of my rods are built on rainshadow blanks , 7' 10'' , american tackle ringlock guides , fuji tcs reel seats , eva split-grips , all wrapping is done in black . the first rod is rated for 2-6 oz. swimbaits and the second one is rated for 3-8 oz. swimbaits . in the pictures , the 2-6 has the Revo SX on it , the 3-8 has the Revo Toro on it . the 2-6 rod is a med heavy ( they are rated the same as G.loomis swimbait rods ) and loads up nice thru it's rating while the 3-8 is a heavy action and lets me really throw bigger baits a LONG ways !!! i know most people want more ''bling'' on there rods , but i like the all black stealthy look ! anyhow , here they are ...
  23. x2 , i only use OWNER OVERSIZED WORM HOOKS in 7/0 , i get so much better hookups with these hooks . i use ole monsters , ss magnums , and of course the best 10'' worm , the Berkeley powerbait powerworm !!!!!
  24. i don't see how you guys fish those 200 size reels , if your lucky you might get 60-70 yards of 20-25 # line on those reels !! i had 20# p-line cxx spooled on my REVO SX ( holds alot more line than a Calcutta 200 series reel ) and i was spooling out on medium long casts . now that i have my REVO TORO , spooled with 25# cxx , i got plenty of line !! just was wondering ....
