  1. Sorry for the tardy response. Can't speak to to LSC, but Burt has some bruisers, some would say frumious. Indian River between Burt and Mullett can be good fishing too, particularly is there's been a tournament recently because a lot of tourneys weigh in by the river; hence, the fish are released there and some stick around.
  2. RoLo, I was just off of Georgian Bay in August for the 1st time and it was awesome! Fishing deep rock piles for smallies, weed beds for smallies and pike, and lily pad filled coves for largemouth.
  3. "Somones closer" Happy Gilmore "Now this is something the other tour guides won't tell you. In this particular cell-block, Machine Gun Kelly had what we call in the prison system, a "b***h". And one night in a jealous rage Kelly took a make-shift knife or "shiv", and cut out the b***h's eyes. And as if this wasn't enough retribution for Kelly, the next day he and four other inmates took turns p**ing into the b***h's ocular cavities. (short pause) This way to the cafeteria!"
  4. Bass are smarter than me. I'm tricked all the time into buying lures that look like live bait. Unfortunately, the bass often times are not tricked into biting these lures.
  5. I recently used Fluro for the first time (Spiderwire Ultracast and P-Line) and will not be using the Spiderwire again. I didn't have any problems with the P-Line, but the Spiderwire gave me fits. I was tying a Eugene Knot that Shaw Grigsby highlighted in Bassmaster and said he uses exclusively for fluoro. I lost two decent smallies due to knot failure with the Spiderwire and one smallie when the line snapped. I lost a large mouth that hit a topwater (I know fluoro is not ideal for topwater). I thought it was knot failure but my lure was floating on the surface and when I retrieved it, I saw the line had snapped. I managed to catch that LM on a weightless Senko and he was about 1lb. Definitely not big enough to be snapping 8lb line.
  6. I noticed you did post on Tripadvisor looking for some information and I hope some people respond. I stayed at Dreams last year, which is located on the Corridor. I cannot recall if it is the Westin that has swimmable beachor maybe the Sheraton, but most areas in Cabo and Los Cabos are not swimmable due to extremely strong undertows/rip currents. I mention this because surf fishing may prove difficuly due to the force of the waves. It seems like every week there is a story of somone drowning around Cabo. Many of these people were not swimming, but merely walking the beach or ankle deep in water when a large wave knocked them down and dragged them out. I don't want to spoil your fun but mention it only so you're cognizant. Have fun, and if you have anymore questions about Cabo, let me know.
  7. check out the trip advisor website in the Los Cabos forums. You can generally search fishing for threads re: fishing that contain recommendations for guides.
  8. Congratulations! I caught my first this summer as well and am officially hooked. I can't wait to get out this weekend.
