  1. Almost every Rapala Bait produced has the term "Rap" associated with it Rattlin Rap Shad Rap Minnow Rap X Rap Risto Rap Get what I'm saying Is this just a take on the inventors name RAPala or is there something else behind it?
  2. Really though...shouldve shown results of fishing in the shadow vs outside the shadow...wonder if it would have been different results...those fish may have been stacked in that area...
  3. Found a close up
  4. In most instances, a "sleeper" is an object that people turn their nose up at and don't give it much a chance of performing well because of construction, appearance and reputation...however if given the chance the item will perform surprisingly better than expected. Anyone have a bait or lure or brand like this, that the general consensus has written off but really does an awesome job for you on the water? I'd like to hear about those "Sleeper"baits and the stories behind them...
  5. Wondering what size weight is on the Moaner Rage Rig hook. Is the Rage rig primarily a shallow water presentation? At what depth does it lose its effectiveness...?
  6. I have been told that the best material to use as far as line goes, when fishing topwater is Braid...no stretch, it floats and will help muscle the fish out of matted vegetation, should the need arise. It also helps cut through that same vegetation.Of course depending on the line diameter you choose, can affect casting distance. So I was watching a video of a guy throwing a River2sea Bubble Popper. He claimed he had a secret...his secret was Fluorocarbon line...his reasoning...FC sinks and so the nose of his bait will be down a bit too, which would give it much more noise and splash when twitched. Anyone care to chime in with thoughts on this? I figure if I want the nose of my bait to sit down, ill add a snap or a split ring...
  7. Them Bullfrogs LOVE a hollow body frog. Threw one last week and you could see em crawlin through the mats to take a look...even watched the water wake as they swam in. They jumped all over my Frog time and time again...
  8. That's what it is...I shouldve went to that website...I figured if anyone would have info on it, TW would...guess that's a model they don't carry...however they carry every other model known to man...hmmm...anyway thanks for figuring that out for me...
  9. I know its a scum frog brand. And I know its a popping version.I've looked on TW.com but only see the style that has skirt material coming straight out the back. This one has separate legs. Its smaller than a Bronzeye65.Anyone ID this?
  10. Guess the idea behind this bait is to just target slop and mats, the reasoning for it not having traditional skirted legs.I've read it doesn't walk the dog very well...which is ok for me...anyone have any success with it??
  11. I've learned so much from the folks here and hope someday ill have been able to put into it as much as I've recieved...this place is GREAT...Thanks to everyone
  12. Guy I know wraps the tail of a Pop R with a Storm Suspenstrip...he does VERY well on this bait...no cadence on the retrieve...rips it back to the boat...
  13. Guess I'm just anticipating that bite...
  14. Its only when I throw a c rig...I get all amped up for some reason...
  15. Made a video...watch for the Cichlid...
  16. I've noticed recently that I get all twitchy fingered when I fish the Carolina rig.I cast it out and let it hit bottom.I run my left index finger under the line to feel contact and bites...my hands shake like crazy...I can't figure it out. Doesn't happen any other time...like when in throwing a Dropshot or T rig. I've gotten bites on the C-rig, mostly on the sinker...but since I changed to MOJO sinkers I get nuthin...no pecks, no sniffers...could this shakiness be over anxiousness, over preparedness or what...anyone else get this?
  17. Messin with my Tackle like I always do and came across some Owner Yuki Bugs. Never seen em in action so I paired one to a 4/0 Mustad Power Lock Plus adjustable weighted swimbait hook.Put it in my aquarium to see what was up... With the weight up by the eye of the hook, this thing floated its appendages way high, never fell over at all. Any slight movement caused the appendages to quiver. The bait was sitting in the flow from the filter and that even caused the bait to spin slowly, with no tension on the line, the weight on the hook acting as a pivot point. Super realism...looked totally alive...if I can snap a video of it ill post it up...
  18. Threw a Yellow with white belly Booyah Poppin Pad Crasher and a Spro Green Tree Poppin frog yesterday...the only thing that showed any interest were the Bullfrogs...they came from far away to check out my offering...gonna have to try one of my Black Frogs next time...I'm really drawn to the Toad Color from Spro for some reason...
  19. Wondering about everyone's most productive brand, and color of frog and the most productive condition to throw them in...
  20. Crazy thing about it is, some bodies of water are so remote that there's really nowhere to go in the event of lightning. You could huddle under a tree on the bank bu t trees get hit by lightning too...and as Chris at Tech said, trying to outrun a storm with only a TM just won't get you very far, very fast. I've tried to go in as a storm approached and clouds rolled in, things got very dark, its hard to avoid floating vegetation that can foul up the prop on your TM.That just puts a whole other isdue on the situation.
  21. Is there an absolute distinct difference between the Walker and the Popper. I've seen both.I think the shape of the body might be a little different and the sizes a little different. Both the walker and the popper feature the same mouth and slits to create bubbles Could the weight and positioning of the weight internally make any difference? Because the WALKER has the same mouth features as the POPPER, couldn't the WALKER be used as a straight POPPER without imparting the walking action?
  22. Even if it only catches dinks, it will be a valuable asset on really getting the timing and the feel of a frog hookset down pat...think it will be a great learning tool...
  23. I don't doubt ill still catch bass with it, I was just surprised at how little it was...
  24. Been on a hollow body frog kick lately and have been picking up ones I thought were reasonably priced. Came across one made by a company called ***.The frog I got was part of thier Edukit series of baits. Basically its a particular bait with a fold out brochure on how to fish the bait, recommended setup, techniques and such. I paid $5 with shipping for this frog, which I thought was alright.I was a little disappointed when the frog artived.I was expecting a standard frog...ended up being a mini.what can you expect for $5? There maybe a silver lining to this though.Perhaps I could use this frog to target Monster Panfish like Green Sunfish, Redear and Bluegill on light tackle...or maybe I could match the hatch for those little frogs running around... Here's the frog I picked up next to a Spro Bronzeye Frog...
  25. I had no idea about the pics being stored like that. I did as Glenn suggested and WOW there were some old ones in there. I've deleted a lot of them. Now that I'm aware of this feature...it will be a great help in the future.
