  1. I'm thinking that they want the Valentine's day and Prez day sales/flyers to be done with first. I bet we'll see the spring classic flyers this week - at least that's what I'm hoping :'( :'( :'(
  2. There's alot of info out there about various tournaments. What I can't seem to find is an article that explains the basics of tournament fishing for bass. Something that acts as a foundation for then understanding a little more about specific tournaments. Anyone out there to help on this?? dee tee :(
  3. FLW offers fantasy fishing; lots of prizes. Anyone ever do this? How hard is it? What's the best way to approach this contest?? Appreciate your advice. dee tee ;D ;D Toledo, OH
  4. There's a short survey in the November BassMaster indicating that only about 2% of bass catchers eat their catch. How come? Does the fish not taste good or is it the strong commitment to catch and release? Wondering............. dee tee :-/
  5. I've yet to see how ANYONE could possibly paddle a pontoon boat! Yea, I've got the paddles but I thought they were used to bop the fish over the head with ;D ;D ;D
  6. So we got a used pontoon boat that is supposed to be the family's only water toy. Can't afford a trolling motor for it right now. Has a 25 HP Mercury 2 cycle. I got a Hummingbird 140 C fishfinder for my b-day and am installing it on the pontoon boat in the spring. Can't wait!! Here's my question - is there any resource or article or easy explanation of how the total power source system should be set up? Do I need multiple batteries? If so, what kind. What would a map of the system look like? I'm looking to keeping the fishfinder on even with the motor not running. I amy also put other electronics on the pontoon. I also may want to have lights on when I'm fishing late evening. So I'm looking for versitility and having enough juice without over doing it. Any directions that can be given will be helpful. dee tee
  7. I got a Hummingbird 141 C fishfinder for my birthday. I am going to install it on my pontoon boat and want to know if it's better to put the transducer on the boat itself or put it on one of those portable rods that can be attached (not permanently) to the pontoon boat. I guess I'm thinking that since the pontoon may not be my last boat purchase, it would be alot easier to remove the fishfinder if the transducer were not a permanent part of the pontoon. Thoughts, anyone?? dee tee :-/
  8. Now that I am getting "more serious" about fishing I'm trying to figure out what to do with my 5 1/2' Medium Shakespeare Ugly Stick. Can I use it successfully for any type of fishing? Or should I just give it to a needy child? All ideas are welcome. Thanks. dee tee
  9. I've had fun this summer trying to catch the elusive bass. Now that fall is here I can catch my breath and ask for some advice. I'm newly retired (seasoned well) and unlike many of you I can't grow a mustache! I live in Toledo but has a small place on a lake near Angola IN. I'm looking forward to learning HOW to catch bass for real either thru a club or a guide or a school. I also plan on scouring the Bass Resource for lots of tips and information. Looking forward to hearing from you! dee tee
