  2. GOTCHA!! i have some of these already and have fished these off and on. now i know the terminology for what i have
  3. since i have the hula grubs already, and soon to have the hooks, would someone mind posting a picture on how the weightless t-rigged hula grub will look once set up?
  4. i see the term jig and pig thrown around quite a bit. i tried to do a search on BPS's website but found nothing. could someone explain to me what this is and where can i find it at BPS?
  5. thanks roadwarrior, i have a baitcaster that has a lure weight range of 3/8oz - 1oz. should i use a 3/8 weight compared to the 1/8 oz? these can be fished with a baitcaster right? i always use YO-ZURI Hybrid line, so ive got that part covered!! 8-)
  6. has anyone fished with a hula grub? what is the best way to fish these? i had one on a standup jig but since the bottom was very rocky i kept getting snags in between the rocks. what other ways can this be fished so that it catches fish? :-[
  7. WRB - its called a family boat and everyone else is going for the ride. not specifically a fishing trip. it will be for me if it can work out
  8. thanks tom bass. i have crankbaits that range in depths of 0-15ft. but will fish really come that close to a moving boat? i am using a baitcaster, are there any specifics i need to know when fishing this way? or do i cast as if i was on the shore?
  9. in the month of july i am planning to take a trip to a deep creek lake in Maryland. location does not matter i guess BUT i have heard that people fish off the boat while moving. i think they call it trolling??? anyways, how does this work? do you cast off the back of the boat and hang on to the rod and wait for a bite? i am going to throw crankbaits but are there specific cranks for this application? do you need to do anything special? im not talking speed boat but rather a pontoon boat. any help would be appreciated.
  10. i just wanted to thank everyone for the informative advice and all the reading i have done on this forum for the past 6 months. it has finally paid off!!!! i was out at the Little Miami River in Cincinnati, Ohio this past weekend and landed my 1st and 2nd fish. the first one was a crappie and the second was a Small Mouth. I was using a square Bomber Fat A lure. before i caught the crappie i was getting a lot of hits by them on this lure. i could see in the water and crappie were coming from every direction. it was crazy. but only one bass though. it definitley changes the attitude!!!!!! bring on number 3!!!! ;D
  11. after all the threads i have read about wacky worms and how to fish them i got to thinking. has anyone ever wacky wormed a live night crawler? would this work? just curious :
  12. To all, not sure if anyone has heard of this site or not but........check out www.overstockbait.com. these guys have awesome prices on fishing tackle.
  13. ah ha, i think i found the oil that is used!! http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1968&CATID=112
  14. when these type of baits are purchased, do you know what type of oil they are placing in the bags?
  15. i know this question has been posted in the past but could someone either point me in the direction of how to keep your plastics from drying out? when purchased they have a little oil of some sort on them. what can you use so they do not lose the oil coating?
  16. when using stand up jigs for grubs, is it better to use a 3/8oz, 1/2oz or 3/4oz head mounted on 3/0 and/or 4/0 hooks? is there a reason to use one weight over the other? to me it would seem that you would change the weight per your rod specs and for further casting. is there anything else to keep in mind?
  17. oh yeah, if anyone is interested in the "50 pack" of senkos that i was referring to, heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com/50-WATERMELONSEED-5-SENKO-WORMS-SENKOS-BAIT-5S171_W0QQitemZ270390763468QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ef48b9fcc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A0%7C293%3A2%7C294%3A50
  18. like i said, i will definitley geive tehm a try. as for my buying them on ebay. i typed in senko and there are "worms that represent senkos" they look the same to me!! why pay more for a name brand when you can have the same thing as a knock off. why not save the money!
  19. ok. i have just gotten into bass fishing during the winter months and in that time frame, i spoke with a bass fisher that was speaking in a seminar. him as well as everyone on this forum rant and rave about the "senko". i am not knocking it at all but i am curious to know whats the big deal? to me its a rubber worm. am i missing something? i have recently purchased a 50 pack of watermelon seed 5" senkos on ebay. thinking i might as well give them a shot to test the waters. i saw that you can wacky rig these things. thats another option that i dont quite understand the logic about. how does a worm with a hook in the middle of its body tempt bass? looks fake if you ask me. last but not least. i am also seeing on ebay, a tool that you can buy with "o" rings that should be used with these senkos. how many people use these o-rings and how the heck do they work? i thought you just put the hook through the body and whola, your done i have read a number of sites online in reference to these senkos but still dont see the big deal please anyone, fill me in on the unknown!!!
  20. Has anyone ever fished the Little Miami River off of Salem Rd/Canoe Ct? Canoe Ct actually drops you off in a parking lot which has trails down to the river. i stopped there tonight just to check it out and there were tons of branches and trees in the water. i am going to try this spot this weekend. anyone have any luck there?
  21. right now, i have in mind of using these grubs with a Buckeye Lure, the spot remover. i was going to use the 3/8 oz. any advice on why this would or would not work? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_89935_100010006_100000000_100010000_100-10-6
  22. can twin tail grubs be used with a baitcaster? or should they be left to a spinner reel? http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_15650____SearchResults
  23. then if thats the case, why do they have walleye specific baits? same for bass?
  24. i recently purchased some Reef Runner® Deep Diver Hardbaits - 800 Series for my trip to Lake Erie this past weekend. can these baits be used for bass or is this a walleye specialty?
  25. hello all. I am heading north to Cleveland (Lake Erie) this weekend and was wondering if anyone has fished at any of the following parks: Edgewater Park 55th Street Marina Gordon Park Euclid Beach Villa Angela Wildwood Park which is teh better lake? looking to catch walleye and LM Bass
