  1. i came across a store by the name of Sportsman's Warehouse. I have never heard of them before. Turns out they have a store about 30 minutes from me. They had a rod case that has a rectangular tube for rods with 3" line guides. ordered it, and picked it up today. I took my rod with me so i could try it in the case BEFORE i left the store with it, fit like a glove. https://www.sportsmans.com/fishing-gear-supplies/fishing-rods/rod-cases/b-w-sports-2pc-7ft-spinning-rod-and-reel-combo-case-grayolive-45in/p/1102356
  2. I'll definitely take a look at them again. I am after a 42-45" long case. thanks for the help
  3. @MickD - thanks for recommendation. The only ones i see there are 8, 9, and 10 ft in length. I measured from rhe back of the rod to the tip of the largest eye, and I'm at 3". It sounds like I have an irregular rod. Certainly doesn't effect fishing, but the storage case becomes the issue
  4. it might be the same one i was looking at as well. can you confirm the diameter tube that has? i see a 45" green one on sale for $43.99
  5. i just bought a rod case from BPS. The case is really nice and definitely fits the bill for features and length. But I found that it is more suited for baitcasting rods. I have a 2 piece, 6'-6" St Croix Premier spinning rod. When I tried to insert the rod into the case, the largest eye of the spinning rod, would not fit into the tube of the case. I tried both the pouch end, as well as the tube end, thinking it was operator error. But no luck. the inner diameter of the tube is about 1/2" too small. I wasn't about to jamb the rod in, so I gave up and now i'm looking once again for a case. I am looking for a case that is in the 42" range. can be slightly larger, not smaller. I would like one that I can keep the reel in tact, and not have to disassemble each time. The case will reside in my truck for those random wading / bank fishing trips when I see a body of water I wanna stop at. It's not for shipping, just recreational use. Do any of you have a rod case that you use that fits spinning rods nicely? Here is the BPS one I bought: https://www.cabelas.com/shop/en/bass-pro-shops-travel-rod-case?ds_e=GOOGLE&ds_c=Cabelas|Shopping|PMax|Proprietary|General|NAud|NVol|NMT&&&gclid=Cj0KCQjwrfymBhCTARIsADXTabm9S4V412hL71AqLSOK5MD7jGx-HLerR0XHAX3QPvTUOvanother sitecpqrQAaAkx2EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  6. I wasn't sure where the heck to place this thread, but it is fishing related, and it does hold tackle anyways, i recently bought the Ghosthorn fishing bag - regular size. i have looked online, you tube, and images of this bag and how some people choose to wear it. I cannot figure out how this is secured into place if you chose to wear it on your chest. I have been messing with the straps and angles of the straps trying to get it to rest comfortably, and so that it does not move around when fishing/moving. I am obviously not smart enough for this bag. now, if i wear the bag like a traditional back pack, it's comfortable and all is well. but i really like the idea of it being on my chest for easy access as needed. anyone else own this bag? have you figured out how to carry it on your chest? Here is the bag I am referring to: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07V235VZC?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
  7. THAT is it! thank you. I so don't remember buying that brand of crankbait. Certainly never have before. But that is definitely what I have in my hand. thank you
  8. I bought this crankbait over the last 2 years, I'm guessing. It's 3.75" Ling, 1 ounce in weight, and the only marking I have, is a #5 on the underside. I was searching bps and tw, but I can't find it. No clue where I bought it. It hasn't seen much water, but I'm trying to figure out where I got it. Any ideas?
  9. i considered changing rods completely, but i couldn't pass up the free replacement of this $200 rod.
  10. a few years ago, I purchased one of the red Johnny Morris Platinum Signature Series cranking rods. it has seen a lot of time on the water. in this short amount of time, the "rubber" handle of it has started to wear thin and come apart, fiber strands were fuzzy. It's mainly where the palm of my hand rubs against it. as time went on and the more it got used, it became very smooth / dull, and not offering any grip at all. it was happening on both sides of the handle, but the side you see below is the worst of it. i took it back to bps today and showed them the issue, and they honored the 10 year warranty and replaced it free of charge. that made me happy has anyone else had this same issue? Is there a mild grip tape that you can cover it to avoid this from happening again?
  11. i agree with the metal hook issue. I always use the fish grips clamp
  12. I do the same, when it comes to the zip lock baggie. you'd think they would be 100% waterproof with it being a FISHING scale.
  13. Over the years, I have bought different brands of digital scales (Berkley, Rapala, BassPro, Generics, etc). nothing ever over $50. I cannot find one that lasts and that is accurate. I have never tried tried mechanical scales, maybe that's the next option. I am not a tourney fisher, so it's only for recreational weighing to keep track of my own progress. I certainly don't wanna break the bank. Read a lot of reviews about a number of them, but so many negatives, mixed in with some positives. Obviously, the negatives stand out. Anyone here use a good scale that they can recommend?
  14. but adding a really thick pad to the seat isn't helping either. i'll keep adjusting though
  15. The bottom seat support is fixed to the frame. the fabric is wrapped around the frame, so no room for adjustment. the back is the only part that has adjustable straps
  16. the discomfort is definitely in the upper left part of the leg, and into the buttox area. i'll definitely make some adjustments this year. I never have anything in my pockets. knees are always bent. gotta be a small adjustment that i need to make.
  17. I have adjusted it, but slightly. It's almost in a 90 degree position. I have slightly reclined the back but the little movement made me feel like i was too far back. I'll definitely play with the back rest position, I didn't think of that possibly effecting anything. but it certainly makes sense
  18. I have a Pescador Pro 100 kayak. When I purchased it, it came with a stadium type seat that is very comfortable, at least for the first hour or two. For some reason, for any longer periods than that, My upper left leg starts cramping up. Making it very uncomfortable. Once I get out of the kayak, and stand up, the pain goes away. SO I have narrowed down the issue to the seat being the problem. I have bought one of those really thick seat cushions that are memory foam. That does nothing. After an hour or two, I'm back to cramping. I have lowered the seat, as well as sitting in it while in the highest position. Nothing is working. I have even gone as far as making a pvc frame / rack that would raise the seat up a few inches higher than the highest position. Again, no relief. I am at a loss on what else I can do. I don;t know if another stadium seat would help. I did have an Ascend kayak before this one. I never had an issue sitting in that stadium seat.....so it's definitely this kayak. Anyone else have these type of issues with their kayak stadium seat?
  19. lack of being able to move around due to brush, trees, obstacles, etc. I feel stuck. That makes me hate bank fishing more than anything.
  20. normal ground shipping says it all. not high priority
  21. funny you mention this. I just placed an order through tackle warehouse earlier today. everything that was bought was in stock. SHortly after getting confirmation, I received an email saying that everything will be shipped out on May 3rd. whyyyyyyyy. 2 weeks? really?
  22. ya, I get it. That could have been the $85 software that I saw.
  23. that is certainly easy to use. I'm finding a lot of the movies I have are locked to where I can't copy them over. you run into this problem before?
  24. Not sure why I haven't thought of this before, but I have a lot of DVD's that I no longer watch due to not having a dvd player anymore. SUre, I could go buy one, but With me streaming all tv content, I'd like to do it for my movies as well. I have attempted to use the Windows software VLC to do this, but I was denied ripping abilities more than not. I think one movie ripped out of 10. So I stopped, thinking maybe there was a lock or something that denied access to do this. Anyways, I can't be the only one that has wanted to do this. Can anyone recommend a dvd burning software to do this easily? I have seen some software pushing $85, but I'd certainly like to do this without the pretty penny attached, if possible.
  25. I will be attending this spring sale mainly due to the reel trade in. For those of you that buy Shimano, or know about any type of rebates during this sale...............Has anyone ever seen Shimano offer any rebates/offers if a reel or rod is purchased? I have never looked for Shimano specifically, but I don't ever recall seeing any. It's always been other brands. I'm looking to get the NASCI 3000. (Rebate/offer or not). I'll be trading a reel in to make this purchase.
