As soon as a mist ache is maid It nose bee fore two long And eye can put the error rite Its rare lea ever wrong. Eye have run this poem threw it I am shore your pleased two no Its letter perfect awl the weigh My chequer tolled me sew.
  2. Theoretically, if a rod is perfectly balanced at the center of the reel seat it will still be perfectly balanced with any reel you put on it, no matter how much the reel weighs. Imagine a lever balanced on a fulcrum. adding weight to either side will tip the lever to that side, but if you add the weight directly on top of the fulcrum the lever will stay balanced because the weight distribution is still equal on both sides of the fulcrum. In the real world of fishing this doesn't work out perfectly because not all reels have an equal weight distribution from front to back across the center of the reel foot; however, the closer the rod is to being balanced to begin with, the better it will usually feel with a reel.
  3. Nice work. I made one for my Subaru Outback by drilling holes for the butts in a piece of wood and mounting it to some threaded holes that are in the roof in the back with a couple 8" lengths of all thread rod, but I just have a shoestring that goes across the backseat handles supporting the middle of the rods. I think I'll be replacing that with your bungee cord and egg crate foam contraption. Also, I'm not sure how the Tribute compares in interior length to my Outback, but mine will take 7'rods fine. I don't think I could go any longer though.
  4. I'm sure there's more than one turtle in the lake.
  5. It sucks that that happened, but if I were you I wouldn't cut my losses with the bait just yet. If it still has the same swimming action as before, you can probably continue to use it and catch fish with it. Have you used it at all since the accident to see if it still swims correctly?
  6. one of my favorites is the 3" senko.
  7. Its just like a texas rig, but instead of leaving the hook point buried in the plastic, you push it through so the hook point is exposed, but flush with the bait.
  8. Normal, average kids can drive before high school? It might not be the norm, but its not unheard of. Some states you can get your learners permit at 14. My dad taught me how to drive a stick shift at 12, and I would consider myself pretty average. He never let me drive on the road until it was legal and I knew better than to try, but still, I knew how and could have. Anyway, I was referring more to the lyrics of the actual song than the fact that they put a convertible full of kids in the music video because it looks cooler than a school bus.
  9. If they catch fish I wouldn't worry about if the ones you already have are real or not. If you have any doubts, just buy from somewhere else next time
  10. I actually kind of like the song. The lyrics are pretty bad and her voice isn't the best (although there's singers much more successful than her with worse voices IMO). Still I think its sorta catchy, and to me there's something refreshing about a normal average kid singing about normal average kid stuff when most other songs out there are about sex and drugs.
  11. Of course a fishing line company is going to tell you you need to buy more fishing line. : Anything can be taken out of context, did you read the second part of that sentence? Not only was in reference to the fact that "Hey look the line company telling me I need to buy line" would be a standard answer; it's the second part that's more important. Three other sources, indicating sources other than line companies. Feel free to pull out of context anything you'd like... Thanks for the reading comprehension lesson. I'm not sure why you're getting all defensive over a joking remark about fishing line though.
  12. I simply judge against myself. If you have the same amount of hair as I do, its a receeding hairline. If less, you're bald. Therefore, I will never be bald
  13. Of course a fishing line company is going to tell you you need to buy more fishing line. :
  14. That's very generous of you. I'll PM you may address.
  15. My first and only boat (technically its my dad's boat, but I'm the only who ever uses it) is a 16' Grumman square stern canoe. I'm hoping to get something a little more suitable for some of the larger lakes around here this summer.
  16. I understand why the added braking power of a full size truck is desired, but is there any reason why someone couldn't just upgrade the brakes on their current truck instead of getting a new one?
  17. Hmm... The fact that they're selling them for so cheap and that they're backordered makes me think they may not be carrying these reels anymore. If that's the case, I wonder if they'd order more to fill the backorders or just refund your card?
  18. maybe you could find a trolling rod that's meant for a casting reel but doesn't have a trigger handle and replace the guides with spinning rod guides?
  19. I'd be very cautious about the motorcycle deal, as others have stated. The part of you post I quoted got me to thinking though, this car sounds like a perfect demolition derby candidate. You can destroy it while having some fun in the process, then sell it for scrap.
  20. I use one of the high mileage blends in my car. I'm not sure how much of a difference it actually makes , but it gives me extra peace of mind and the way I look at it, over the lifetime of the oil the difference in cost between a premium oil and the cheap stuff is negligible.
  21. I would start by putting both reels on the rod you already have and fishing with them a bit or at least casting in the yard to see which reel you like better with that rod and the baits you'll be throwing with it. For your other rod, I would go 7' MHF since the one you already have is shorter and lighter, and this is a good all around casting rod length, power and action IMO. As far as line, I prefer mono over braid for the applications you mentioned, and I've not used fluorocarbon so I can't recommend for or against it.
  22. I've certainly been there and know what it's like to have nothing to do on your break. I usually try to find something to keep busy but it seems like there's only so many times you can do the same old thing, even if its something enjoyable. That said, I wish I had this problem right now.
  23. Did she like them? You should ask her if you can borrow them.
  24. I have a 4600 c4 that I use for bass fishing. It was my second baitcast reel and I've used it for pretty much every technique I use at one point or another. I currently have it spooled with 15 lb mono and use it mostly for lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, and small to medium size swimbaits. It excels at throwing lipless cranks and swimbaits long distances, and my hands are large enough that it's comfortable for me to palm a round reel. I like all my low profile BC's too, but the round Abu's are great reels, especially at their price point, and there's no reason not to use them for bass fishing, other than personal preference.
  25. Pflueger spinning reels in general are a great value IMO. I've never owned a President, but I have a Trion spinning reel that's close to 10 years old now and its still my go to spinning reel. My next spinning reel will most likely either be a President, or one of the gold Supremes that are on clearance at Gander, depending on if I have enough money to make the purchase while they're still available.
