I saw the bolded section a little bit differently than this. To me, It looks like Foles is pretty clearly pursuing the play, and only lets up once the runner is down. Even after letting up, he is still jogging toward the play, not walking. Foles sees the runner going down because he is pursuing the play and attempting to make the tackle, so he has his eyes on the runner. Baker, on the other hand, has his head turned toward Foles the entire time, lining up his block.He therefore may not have even been aware that the runner was already down when he hit Foles. The only thing that makes the hit questionable in my opinion is the timing. If it happens half a second earlier, the vast majority of non Eagles fans would be talking about what a great, hard block it was. A half second later, and it's clearly unnecessary roughness due to being a late hit. As it is, it's a play where I'm not upset it wasn't called, but wouldn't have been upset if it was called either because the timing was so close.

I'm on my second 7' MHF Mojo. I got my first when they first came out, and had it until this past May when I knocked it out of my kayak, never to be seen again. The next day I went out and replaced it, and also bought a set of rod floats. I really like it as a jig and t-rig rod. I have noticed that it can feel tip heavy with certain reels, but in my hand it balances nicely with a reel in the 8oz range or higher.

I would argue that if its not yours and you don't know it's public, you should assume it's private. Don't see what's screwed up about that at all.

I was thinking about this during my recent vacation on the Vermont side of Lake Champlain. With the bass I caught that week, I have caught bass in three states.My list is New York, South Carolina, and Vermont. Of those, Vermont is the only one I have not lived in the first time I caught a bass there. How Many states have you caught a bass in, and what's your list?

I did a little bit of it last summer and had a good time. Now that my school year is finished up I'll probably start back up with it.

Chaco makes good, supportive sandals. I haven't tried their flip flops, but I have a pair of their Yampa sandals which are basically a sandal with a boot sole, and they are very comfortable for being on your feet all day. I usually wear those or my vibram fivefingers fishing. I personally love the fivefingers as well, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend them if you're looking for something with lots of support, as they're a minimalist, barefoot-style shoe.

Has anyone here ever cartopped their rods? In a few weeks I'm going on a trip during which I plan to do lots of fishing, but with the amount of stuff I'll be bringing and the fact that I'll be travelling with my wife and two dogs, I won't be able to fit my one piece rods in the car. I have a Plano airliner rod tube and was planning on putting the rods in there and having them ride on the roof rack next to the kayaks. Was just wondering if anyone had ever done this before and how it worked out, or if there's a reason this is a terrible idea that I'm overlooking. thanks, Shane

If you're doing well on the practice exams you've been taking you'll likely be fine. When I took my School Psychology Praxis, I found the practice tests more difficult by far than the actual test. When my wife took her Praxis (the PLT Early Childhood) she didn't do much preparation and was worried about how she did afterward because she's been out of school for a while and there was a lot of theory and history of education things on there she hadn't seen in a while, but she still did fine. Yes, but wouldn't the thicker spool be cancelled out by the shorter length of line between the bail and the spool?? When I was in high school and asked my calculus teacher when I was going to use this stuff in the real world, if his response was "discussing the IPT of spinning reels on fishing forums," I probably would've paid more attention.

I understand that; I was merely disagreeing with the assertion that IPT was more precise than gear ratio. In statistical terms, its a question of reliability vs. validity. The reliability of gear ratio as a measure of spool turns per turns of the main gear is at, or as close to, 100% as you can get, because it does not change. That doesn't mean it has good validity for measuring reel speed. Advertised IPT on the other hand, is not as inherently reliable as gear ratio for the reasons I mentioned in my previous post (although i would guess that it still has a reasonably high reliability coefficient), but it's a valid indicator of reel speed, meaning that it is measuring what it's supposed to. As far as which matters more when making an informed reel purchase, that is up to the individual consumer to decide which they value more for a given application, speed or torque. If I want to be at a certain speed, I'll look more closely at IPT. If I want more torque for high-resistance baits, looking at gear ratio will be more useful to me.

I get what you're saying about IPT being more informative than gear ratio when discussing how fast a reel picks up line, but I disagree about gear ratio being relative while IPT is precise. If anything, I would argue the opposite. a 5:1 ratio reel means that the spool will always rotate five times for every one rotation of the main gear. IPT, on the other hand, is dependent on the diameter of the line on the spool and therefore could vary significantly from the beginning of the retrieve of a long cast to the end, with IPT increasing throughout the retrieve as more line is added back onto the spool. A reel with a spool that is not filled to capacity will also have a lower IPT than the same reel when it is full of line. Note that this does not apply to spinning reels, because in that case the diameter of the bail is constant, and that is what is moving to pick up the line.

I just got a Lowrance Mark 4x DSI for my kayak and I plan on installing the transducer with the shoot thru hull method. I was wondering what adhesives others have used for this application. Specifically, has anyone used silicone with good results? most of the videos and advice I've seen recommends either epoxy or marine goop. I was thinking about trying the silicone in case I ever decide I want to remove the transducer, but I don't want to if it will be more likely to have a negative impact on the unit's performance than other adhesives.

Good Idea about using it as a mud anchor, I hadn't thought of that. One reason I did decide to go with paracord though was for its strength, just in case I ever got in a situation where I was stranded and needing a short length of good strong rope. For this reason I also kept the tags on my knots long even though the leash would look neater and more finished with them trimmed close, so it would be easier to untie if needed. I thought of weaving it survival bracelet style, but that would've used a lot more paracord, and I wasn't sure if it would make the leash too stiff.
