Are you guys catching catfish with bait or lures? My report: I went shoreline fishing the potomac last weekend with no success. There are a lot of leaves that interfere with my casting. Also, the water level has dropped dramatically. The lowest I've seen in a long time.

Thanks for the report. Thought about going that direction this morning, but was not sure where the marine corp marathon was going to mess up traffic. There was a map in the paper a couple of days ago, but my wife threw away the paper. Oh well. next time.

Shore fishing. No complaints there. Thanks for the tips on being stealthy. Would those apply in choppy water on a heavily navigated river? I've thought about buying a kayak, but my issues with that are 1) where would I store it (small townhome) 2) loading/unstrapping it to the top of the car may be a hassle.

Great stuff! I caught one about the size of the one on the first pix. I was shoreline fishing off gravelly point. How's the fishing in the potomac in the fall/winter? And, the DC area in general. I'm just getting back into it after a long time away. I live and work in Arlington. Love being able to drive down and be fishing in 5-10 mins. Thanks!
