  1. i would avoid any coffee or cigarettes or alcohol close to bed time also avoid eating any big meals before you go to sleep.try getting on a regular work -sleep routine and take up walking for exercise i would avoid watching an fast paced stressful type TV shows to close to bed time also. maybe you could try turning off everything in the house close to bedtime and just read with a lamp on usually reading will make you drowsy.
  2. my wife and i started coking on cast iron skillets a couple years ago after seeing some report on 60 minutes that something like 90 some percent of us have Teflon residue in our systems from cooking in the Teflon coated pans.
  3. i have been hearing this for the past two years because a fishing friend of mine an older guy always has some kind of rhyme or quote when ever we don't catch any fish ,personally i think they are excuses and the real reason we don't catch fish sometimes is because were still learning how to become good fisherman that and the fact he never changes his lures hopefully some of the other better fisherman will pipe in here for you.
  4. having not fished for a long time i wondered if stress or fatigue would effect sensitivity because alot of times i will go fishing right from work and after a long day my focus isint there and like Catt said about fishing at night i have tried closing my eyes as I'm reeling in a rubber worm or jig as i reel in slowly . I'm improving .most of the time i fish local forest preserve lakes that are packed with people and you re stuck in you re little casting area i didn't want to look to goofy looking like I'm sleeping standing up but I'm trying alot of what you guys said thanks for the responses , this place is the best!
  5. i had a question on hand sensitivity and was wondering is this something one is born with or is it picked up or learned i mean does one get better at feeling the fish with time being put in on the water or basically you got sensitive hands or not. case in point right know i have a st croix legend elite 7 ft medium action with power pro braided line and i don't really notice any super sensitivity for the price, is this because i haven't fished a long time ( 2 yrs) i have had this rod for a couple months my first high end rod or its because I'm not blessed with sensitive hands .
  6. you could also go to a library and look at back issues of consumer reports or car and driver and other magazines for free.
  7. some tips over the years Ive heard from customers that have had things stolen from them .if you have one of those mega stereos in your car and you drive round with your windows down your advertising to everybody to come follow you home to see where you live so they can come back later and steal it from you. another tip i heard is when you buy the latest plasma TV or computer don't put out the empty box out front of your house to early before the garbage man comes because somebody may spot the box and come break in it happened to a customer. i had another customer had his car broke into because even though put his GPS in the glove box out of sight he left the suction cup bracket stuck on hie windshield that somebody spotted and figured the GPS must be in the car somewhere
  8. why spend all our money on such nonsense when in reality there are no lakes up there for any of us to fish anyhow.
  9. i fish allot of strip mine pits the water is deep and clear i use lighter line 4# and have had the most luck using 4 inch senko worms watermelon colored wacky rigged and also watermelon colored grub type jigs on a jig head . I'm not a night person but allot of guys around here catch some big fish fishing late at night when the fish aren't so spooky because of the clear water.
  10. I'm a newbie so this may be a dumb question. a lot of days after work i will hit some fishing holes on the way home so i carry a couple spinning rod set ups with me at work in my car with the windows rolled up ,will the hot temps inside the car damage my rods i have them inside a couple heavy cardboard tubes so the wont get damaged by everything else in the car but what about the high temps? thanks.
