I still have some bps gift cards i haven't tapped yet.I have been waiting for the spring fishing classic or whatever they call it to start at bps to stretch them out. I saw those boxing craws with the tiny fluke attached on another site, they look tempting for sure.
I have two pond prowlers. I have a beat up one i bought used that i keep cabled out at a club i belong to and another one i keep in my garage for local forest preserve pond fishing. The boats are stable enough to stand up in and fish ,the wind can be a problem so i made a rudder for the back out of an old trolling motor pipe and clamp and attached a piece of plexiglas to the pipe with some conduit clamps. The rudder made a huge difference.I also reversed the handle on my trolling motor so i could mount it on the front of the boat and sit near the front and steer. This helped a lot also.If you go back a ways in this section of the forum you will find other ideas from some pond prowler owners.
Nope....To much dedication, diet, and drugs for me.I'm afraid that all the time ,energy, and money i would have to spend to look that good would leave me with very little time, energy and money to go fishing.I just turned 50 on Sunday and at this stage of my life i would rather look like Glenn Campbell than that.
Grab all the tins of left over holiday cookies and pile them up on both arms of your recliner.Make a pot of coffee and put on some sweat pants.Turn on TV.Enjoy!
I fish mainly clear lakes so most of my soft plastics are either watermelon or green pumpkin.I seem to catch more fish on green pumpkin so i decided i am going to buy most of my new soft plastics in this color.I can see the need for a darker color for cloudy days or muddier water so i decided to add black& blue to the new binder mix.
While lying awake in the middle of the night last night i admitted to myself that i have a soft plastic addiction. In an effort to work out a compromise with my inner self and also to make my bps gift cards goes as far as possible i have worked out a plan in that any new soft plastics that i purchase this new year will be in the all purpose color green pumpkin. Please wish me luck!
I mainly finesse fish with light spinning outfits and the only jigs i buy are the bitsy bug jigs in various weights, they are cheap and they catch a lot of fish.
