This spring I rigged up a 36 lb thrust trolling motor ( Newport vessel )with a 24 inch shaft on my ride 115 kayak.I opted go with Bps Tl160 (60 amp hour) lithium battery instead of a much heavier wet cell option. I took the new set up out today for a trial run ( little over3 hrs) with the new motor on the lowest setting most of the time and maybe the last 20 minutes or so on the highest setting to get back to my truck because a storm front was moving in. The battery seemed to work flawlessly on this initial run but when I got back home and placed it on my new lithium charger it showed one bar. I was wondering if that is what’s to be expected out of a lithium this size or should I take it back and grab another while I still have my 30 day exchange still available ?

Last year I popped in the Bps near me and inquired about the Patriot rods . I was told that Temple fork outfitters made that particular rod for Bps.

Take it back and get an Avid.

Back a few weeks go St croix kept promising a video offering proof that the new legend extreme rod was the most sensitive rod they’ve ever built. Did they ever come out with that video?

One of my friends was a roadie for them for a couple of years when they were touring around here and overseas.His cousin was the drummer at the time (Vic fox)

I went to the one by me to load up on bitsy bug jigs $1.79 but they weren’t on sale. You can clearly see them on sale on page 10 on the link above sandwiched between the rage craws and the TRD’s. The guy at the store didn’t have a clue.

I’m not seeing anything but rod & reel trade in and fishing seminars.In the past I could find links to the whole sale paper. Anybody have a link ?

I’ve been looking at the St. Croix legend elite casting rod ( 7’ 6” moderate fast tip,medium heavy power) for throwing jigs and soft plastics (1/4 oz most of the time but an occasional 5/16,3/8 jig) The lure weight on the rod is listed at 3/8-1 1/4 oz .I thought going with a moderate fast taper might make it easier for throwing the smaller size jigs.Does this sound right ? ( I have no experience with a moderate fast tip) what are the advantages and disadvantages of a moderate fast tip ? What would be a good baitcaster to go with to pair up with this rod ( same price range)
