  1. Who owns the water? ( is it state or county operated?) on the fairfax county water authority water supply reservoir we fish, a 10 hp restricted watershed, I know bass boats are allowed to fish, just not run the outboard at all. I would say check with whomever has jurisdiction and if you are able to idle. Makes sense you should be able to but it doesn't hurt to find out from the bosses of the lake!!
  2. Sounds like the problem I recently had. A carb jet had some debris deminishing fuel flow. External or internal fuel tank?? Check fuel filter or pick-up?
  3. Super nice, need me some of those!!
  4. What would you like to know?
  5. Wow, you think that's a heavy rod?? I have the same rod with the 2010 revo SX and think it's a dream to throw. I also have a veritas 7'6" and with a revo stx and am not sure it is any lighter. As someone said above, maybe it's just me.
  6. Disco violet on a scrounger.............. Dead sexy!!
  7. Make one out of a cooler! I think they sell ariator pumps and tubing and bars for coolers. If not, get a bilge pump, flex tube and PVC tube and make one. I'm sure you can find info on line if not here on how to do it. It's a requirement in our small club to have a functional livewell to insure that all fish come to the scales alive.
  8. Me..............?????????? I would have muddied my drawers for sure!!
  9. Practice on the ramp you will be using on a day that it's not very busy, probably sometime in the middle of the week. Don't let anyone rush you to get your boat in the water any faster than you are comfortable with. Take your time and think thru every step outlined above. Practice makes perfect!
  10. It takes a pair to chuck something up for all to see and know full well the repercussions. A bit too public!
  11. I was gonna say you must be 9' tall and weigh about 4 bills!! Nice fish tho, I'll take those anytime I can get 'um!!
  12. Last spot at the end of a tx, last cast in order to make it back to the weigh in on time, to cull a fish or make your limit on the last cast............ Priceless!!!! Happened twice last year, once for me and once for my partner in buddy tx's. Pretty good feeling!!
  13. Sometimes you can cruse the weedlines and look for movement and toss a jig to them. This time of year with the heat, I shakey them on points and drops near points. C-rig and jigs do the trick as well. At the end of the evening, try the dam with jigs in the weeds.
  14. Fat fingers, small keyboard!!
  15. Try keeping your rod a little lower(10 o'clock) and you should be able to reel set comfortably. A dedicated dropshot rod helps as well and keep consistent pressure on the fish and let the drag do the work!
  16. Very broad question with very little background info. A very good fisherman once told me most fish will be in one of two moods, feeding up or feeding down! Take what you know about the body of water you are fishing - water clarity, depth, season and by process of elimination, tailor your abilities to the area you are fishing. Two hours is just the tip of the iceberg. Fish hard and move on. Sometimes they just won't bite. Eliminate water but don't miss opportunities to find that honeyhole due to frustration that you cannot get bites where you think they should be!!
  17. Like Bassn blvd said. No fertin in the yurt!
  18. Imprefer the brutally hot nasty days tomthe truly butt cold days!!
  19. Stitching a live nightcrawler on a splitshot rig will catch some nice walleye at night out there!!
  20. Thai and I caught a couple of nice fish the day before as well and I just went back up on a whim and caught that one!!
  21. Common now. I'm very proud of that fish!! Especially since it came from Mercer!!
  22. Certain times of the year you can do some serious damage! When I first started fishing Mercer you could catch some really big pickerel, havn't see any come out of there in a long time.
  23. Caught this one in March on a jerkbait from the dam.
