  1. KVD of course, Casey Ashley, Bill Lowen
  2. Same boat here gremlin, played competitive for a major part of my life in the DC metro area, all-met my sr. year in HS, won a national championship for U19 at club level. 3 ACL reconstructions later and I would much rather be able to walk!!
  3. Huntsman today! Nitro, these RC STX baits might be the real deal!!
  4. Over the past 8 or so years I've put a lot of time fishing jb's in cold water here in Va. Sometimes they just don't want it! Time spent with them is absolutely the best way to learn it! I could tell you what works for me, but that is only hearsay basically, ha ha lol! Proper set up is a big part of it. The bait is just a bait if you don't have the correct equipment, I mean you don't flip 1/2oz jig on an ultra light rod and reel with 6 lb line!!
  5. I have a similar set up in 14' jon with a couple of things done differently that what you have done. In my opinion, you don't want to bring in "new" or fresh water into your well after the initial fill. I think you have to do double the work, meaning you have to rechill and retreat the water more frequently. Once I get the water treated and at the temp I want it's just a matter of adding ice thru the day. Keep in mind you don't want to freeze the fish, what I've read thru the years is you only need to keep the water about 5 or so degrees cooler that the water you are fishing to keep your catch alive and happy! Sprayer bar, good, air stones, good, recirc pump, not such a good idea in my opinion.
  6. I just picked up some of the RC STX baits. Of the 4 I purchased, out of the package, 2 suspend perfectly, 1 very slight rise, 1 quicker rise so not 100% sold on absolute quality of the bait. That being said, I can find uses for all of them. I have been pummeling fish with them! They are dink magnets. The past two days, 80+ fish, only 4 keepers. Might be a condition of the place I'm fishing, but I'm convinced if I get to a body of water that has a better quality of fish, they should eat it as well. Still won't take the place of my pointers, but it should have a place in the rotation!!
  7. Been over seas to play and watch! Fun to actually be at a match. Raider, I'm a City fan!!
  8. Wow, those things are bad arse!. I read an article about the migration. The article said it happens very cyclicly (?sp) and like you said, relating to the lemming population. Because the diet consists of something like 90% lemmings and they were so abundant, the clutch size of adult snowy owls was sometimes 4 or more chicks!! After the lemmings do what they do and the hunting grounds are void of lemmings, a migration occurs that bring them further south than normal. They always remind me of the Rush album cover for "Fly By Night" Jeeeez, I just really dated myself!!
  9. Great news, will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
  10. Truly enjoyed the play-by-play. Hopeful I can have a similar outing this weekend! Excellent fish considering the wind!!
  11. Just not into it. Played soccer and to me, much more exciting. Others think the same thing about soccer, boring. It was a big part of my life for 20+ years and because of injury was forced to choose walking over playing, so now I fish. At this point in my life, wish I had put as much effort into fishing that I had in soccer!!
  12. Classic!
  13. Awful problem to have!!
  14. Zoff, did you have some good water to fish?? Water temps??
  15. How much rain did you all get down there this past week? If that lake looks like anything we have up here in NOVA, I would look for the cleanest water possible and fish very slowly, I've been catching fish on small finesse jigs. Senko type baits will also work. Let us know if you hang any studs!
  16. I think everyone has touched on it, making good decisions on the water! You have an idea of how you WANT to catch them, but once you get out there, things have a tendency to change. How you adapt to those changes is how your success is going to be determined.
  17. I'm not sure if they will be the end all be all jb, the pointer has been such a good bait for me the past 8 years it's going to take a little more unseed them. Design and fishability are nice, just need some more time with them!
  18. It's gonna be another option. Makes me want to seriously look at the 110's tho!! 1 hour caught 4. The others were only about 11" nubs! They do cast nicely as well and looks to be a nice bait. I picked up 4 baits in assorted flavors. 2 suspend perfectly, 1 rises very slowly and the last one floats up a little quicker. Split rings on all 4 are solid, hooks are very sharp. All in all for eight bucks, compared to the LC's and megabass jb's, solid bait, I'm pleased.
  19. Kingstown. Bank fishing!
  20. Oy, I wouldn't wish an ACL tear and recon on my worst enemy. I've done both knees. Left knee even tore the rebuild! I'm probably a candidate for knee replacement shortly, pisser is I'm only 47 and they don't have a replacement on the market that will last as long as I'll be alive!! You will be fine. Sucks for about two weeks or so then after you get past the dull throbbing pain of the knee healing, it's all good! The surgery has come a long way since I did my first one in '83. Plaster cast from hip to ankle, in the hospital for 8 days, in the cast for 6 weeks. Last one in '94, outpatient, awesome meds!, knee imobilizer, crutches for about 2.5 weeks Before you get the brace. Fish will still be there when you are ready to get back at it! Good luck, let's us know how it progresses.
  21. Caught this little butter bean while testing a couple RC STX baits I just got!!
  22. I think nitro's idea of a little orange mix is good!
  23. Oh, I've got a good one! While paying for something at let's say, 7-11, and you utterly baffle them by giving them $3 .06 on a purchase of $2.31! After they have already totaled out the purchase! Talk about a thousand yard stare!
  24. Football jigs out on the points at anna, 1/2 oz compact in natural colors
  25. Best: when fishing shallow water "it's always a little deeper than you think."
