  1. Time to watch a bit of the FA cup!!
  2. I have read that anything over SPF 45 is really not that much better than 45! just remember to apply liberally and often!!
  3. Dean Rojas fighting frog!
  4. Try to find a calcutta on ebay. 150 or 200 model.
  5. You will have plenty of opportunities with the full moon and another wave of spawners. Water came back up to full pool with the rain this week, the fish you did find on beds may be a little more difficult to spot but they are still there and the water didn't get very dirty. Good luck and let us know how you do!!
  6. At this point, why stop!! Now that you have started, and now that you have been subjected to this great sport, there is no turning back! Get used to these two words......... Bait Monkey!
  7. Just not a big Drogba or Lampard fan and Terry just flat out makes me mad!
  8. Mike W, the fish on the res are in full lovin' mode!! you need to look in the creeks and guts and look for the beds. I was out Saturday and must have seen 30 beds in all areas. Some had fish locked on, others were "in the act!" If you find vacant beds or beds with only the male, be assured the girls are lurking nearby. It is a tricky time out there right now, I've never done very well with spawners but you can catch them, they just have to be in the right mode, not mood! You should be able to tell if the bedders will bite within the first few minutes you locate and cast to them. Look for aggressive behavior toward your bait, are they chasing away small blugill, will they nose down and eyeball your offering?? If this is the case, it's just a matter of finding the trigger, bait, retrieve, wait time! It's all a brilliantly devised puzzle laid out by mother nature with an awesome backdrop of springtime!
  9. Thanks Dwight, I'm always eager to gleen knowledge from those that have consistently been successful at a technique. This helps!!
  10. Thanks Mike, let me know about where you found the ethanol approve lines and bulb and I always use clamps!!
  11. Thanks for the things to check. Just had the fuel pump rebuilt last fall, carb pulled apart and checked last fall, tried the primer ball trick while running on Sunday. I will check the other things you mentioned as well as new plugs this week. Fortunately, my fishing partner has a boat for the tx this Sunday!
  12. Was running my jonny around the res and while at wot, started loosing power and had some surge/fade issues. Water pump is pumping, idles and starts first pull, just totally lost top end! Any suggestions on things to look at or try before I call my mechanic? Money is tight and I am somewhat mechanically inclined. I have a buddy with a service manual and can always look at that but you guys have always been helpful so I decided to look here first. Thanks
  13. Few of my fishing buddies have tried them with somewhat good results. Make sure the connections are good and secure. For some reason, if they get loose they drain much faster!
  14. Probably a little under 3lbs. Still nice fish tho!
  15. Wow! Can't believe how much fun every series has been to watch! Great stories in every game, vey entertaining! Has a Presidents trophy team ever been swept in the first round?!
  16. Go to tinboats and look at some of the builds those guys have done! Pressure treated ply from what I have read does not play well with aluminum. If you really want to do it right, make your deck out of aluminum and use 1" aluminum tubing for the bracing
  17. ^^ LOL!! Good luck against the devils tonite!
  18. PANTHERS WON THE DIVISON!!!! The only reason they won the division is because the got more looser points! I hate OT point deal in the regular season, let them play till someone scores. Bruins are going down, my Caps will prevail! Caps in 6
  19. Being a locksmith, I've seen it all! You would be amazed at the things I have seen stuffed down into car doors! First, you absolutely need a spare (make sure you try the duplicate as soon as you can) and if you ever do have to call a locksmith, make sure you DO NOT call an 800 number to do so! In VA you need to be liscensed thru the state in conjunction with the Department of Criminal Justice Services. Fingerprints and background checks. So many scammers that will quote you a price and triple it when they arrive! Not sure what state you live in but open the phone book and see how many you find with 800 numbers! Scammers every one of them! Also, any locksmith that has any sense at all will never work on the driver side door, as well as any newer vehicle that has airbags in the doors, never let them put tools into the door cavity. They should as described earlier, wedge the door from the frame and open the door from inside the passenger compartment. Just a couple things to look for when calling a locksmith. Glad things worked out after all the drama!!
  20. Well that blows, one of the few fishing shows that my wife enjoyed watching with me. Very sad
  21. Visible grass. Look for isolated beds and if you do fish the bigger beds, concentrate on irregularities and te beginning and ends of the beds. Don't be afraid to put your bait a few inches into the grass. Also look for shad and get a blade into them. Flats and channel breaks will hold the shad with the bass close by. If you bring your blade back to the boat and you have shad trying to mate with it, you are in a good spot!
  22. Well, Mike, that place will humble even the best anglers out there! Grass has been the deal so far this spring. Pitch creature baits and the like into and around isolated patches close to the flats and deeper banks. That area around kinchlo is going to be hot shortly. Don't be afraid to get incredibly shallow and hit all the stumps way in the back and have a buzzbait on as well! Second place first tx with 27lbs only weighed in 1 fish for a little over 2.5 so yea, that place will jump up and bite you!!
  23. Here is what I can do, buy the map at the marina and I will be happy to show you places to try and lures and techniques. It's difficult for me to take someone out during the tx season because I really am looking for new things that might work or might not. I'm all about trying to help someone new to the res enjoy the abundance of quality fish, but at the same time, I gotta have some secrets!! The way I learned was time on the water! Not to sound like a douch, but people see you put time in and they are more likely to clue you in on the little subtleties that go on at certain times of the year. Let me know if that works for you and thanks, but after fishing out there for 20+ years, I still at times fail miserably!
  24. I've known these guys for a long time and I know exactly what and where! Good sticks and they did it last year as well! Big fish was chasing shad and they caught it right at the boat on a blade, right at the rod tip! 6+ pounder! Spring on the res is a magical time if you know the bite and are at the right place at the right time!
  25. Sounds like you are going to have a blast!! while you say that you have done this before, I would suggest a life jacket that fits him well and check river levels before you put in!!
