  1. I use the blue Stabil, have used Seafoam. But after talking to friends who are avid pleasure boaters, the recommendation is for the product listed below. That will be going in my next tank http://www.jamestowndistributors.com/userportal/show_product.do?pid=6174&familyName=StarTron+Gasoline+Engine+Fuel+Treatment
  2. you guys using this on spinning or bc tackle?
  3. I do not think you would be dissapointed. I have both and am happy with each one for what I use it for
  4. I was were you are not to long ago. Here are my impressions for what they are worth.... I wanted aluminum because that would suit me better given the areas I would be fishing. Aluminum is more forgiving. Hit a rock... less of a deal with aluminum than it is with glass. Aluminum is easier to take care of. I want to be fishing not worrying about the finish on my boat. Make absolutely sure you ask the overall length of the "package" an outboard is going to add about 2 feet to the length of the package. Has big implications of how long it is given the finite length of storage space. Also the trailer length. Example: I have a Bass Tarcker 170 boat is 16 feet 4 inches in length. Add 2 feet for the motor plus trailer and I was well over 19 feet. I need to walk behind it in the garage. I got the swingaway trailer and cut it down to 17 feet and a couple of inches. Also remember that you will store the boat with the motor raised which can a even more length. Insurance for mine is 171 per year. That also includes a rider for 3000 in equipment. good hunting and the above is JMHO
  5. I am like you and will only do minor things. There are some things that are just to much of a pain and it is nice, if something goes wrong or does not work, to be able to say "fix it" I am taking in my Tracker Monday for an auxillary cigarette lighter and a depth finder to be mounted on the bow. they gave me an estimate of around 200. Sure beats running the wires myself. The labor at the marine place is $100 per hour. I have done some work on my motorcycle and let me tell you there are some things that are worth every penny to have others do
  6. so this product is not for a "tin" boat
  7. I think taht is a good deal. I just bought a new Tracker after years of fishing wth a buddy that has one. We fished it hard for years and he took care of it. Long story the boat was 6 years old and was like new
  8. Just got my BPS Spring fishing Classic flyer. "Shimano has decided not to support the youth reel trade-in program" :) I understand the economy and the need to make certain business decisions but... May not matter to many here but my next reel purchases probably won't be a Shimano. As much as I love the brand, I will look at other manufacturers products
  9. I have one of each and each one has its uses for me. I would buy one of each
  10. I have been told no problem. Also your motor will find the place it will always go to when trailering.
  11. thanks for the picture. that is a nice setup
  12. do you have a picture per chance?
  13. I use 5 plus I carry an Ultralight
  14. I am going to put a sonar on the front of my tracker and I was undecided where. Then I started thinking how I fish. I like to fish with the right side of my body facing the bow of the boat. So I prefer to cast of the Port side What is everyones preference and where do you have your sonar mounted
  15. I do mine seperately with Battery Tenders
  16. Excuse my ignorance I have never used a spinnerbait trailer but want to broaden my horizons. I bought the trailers and hooks but I cannot figure out what the rubber tubing is for.
  17. another vote for the BPS Extreme
  18. Wayne, Thanks for the reply. This will be my first "bass" boat. I have a 14 foot alumacraft "rowboat" with only a electric, and it certainly is fishable but when in Canada last year I fished out of a boat of similar design as the tracker and like the flat deck. My biggest issue is the storage limitations I have. The 170 will fit in the available area. Also I am hoping that my wife will come out and lay in the sun as I fish. (hence the flat top, and size) She is not comfortable in the Alumacraft. Our seventeen year old is heading out and I am hoping to finally get some quiet / enjoyable time with the wife I will be upgrading to the 40 horse 4 stroke, I think I like that engine better than dealing with the 50 2 stroke. I live very near the Susquehanna river and I need the engine for that application. I have been wondering about the electric motor as all the lakes near me are electric only, but even in Canada we got by all day on one battery. I wonder if there is any way to make some of the compartments water resistant. For the lakes that are electric only... how difficult is it to get the boat back on the trailer at the end of the day? Do you think the downsides that you list will prevent you from still enjoying the boat 6 years from now? thanks a lot for your input / advice I appreciate it storm
  19. I have been loking at this boat and it really is a nice boat. I am going to end up with the 170 just becaus ethe layout and storage better meets my needs. I think it is a great boat for the money. I have been shopping around for a while and have looked at used, personally even though there are some killer deals I like the peace of mind going new, warrenty etc.
  20. have you used your boat yet? I am about to pull the trigger on the same one. I would really like to hear your initial imressions. it can be offline if you prefer
  21. have to totally agree. BPS is 20 min from me and Cabelas an hour. I much prefer Cabelas. I ordered a St. Croix to be shipped to the store (BPS) on Dec. 30th nad still no sign of it. Went to Cabelas on Jan 2nd and they shipped areel to my house, no shipping charge, because it was not in stock and I received it on the 8th. BPS would not ship directly to my house Makes me >
  22. I am interested in the answer to this also as I am going to purchase a tracker this spring
  23. I have four BPS spiral Graphite rods that are 22 years old and still work like a charm. although I am starting to upgrade
  24. funny you started this thread. I just bought St. Croix Avid instead of a crucila because I saw made in China on the Crucial.
