  1. Bloomington, IL.. Been on this great site for years and missed this post. Look forward to corresponding and hopefully fishing with some of the good people here. All the best, Twitch
  2. Thanks for the replies. I am in 25'-40' of water typically. Usually 1/2, sometimes 3/4 and hardly ever bigger than that. What are you guys putting on those jigs? Big worms? Creatures? Smaller baits on big jigs? And color of the trailers? Always dark because deep and low to no light? Twitch
  3. We are the cool guys throwing on their bigger football jigs in deep summer water? Big? Little? Always dark because so deep? Thanks for the input! Twitch
  4. Is there a good weight for C-rigging the occasional rocky bottom? Was thinking that someone probably has come up with a football weight for this, but haven't found. How hard do you think it would be to drill a lead egg sinker to make it a football weight? Twitch
  5. Rage shad and the rage shellcracker rigged flat on a Chompers brush jig just like the PowerLures Lateral Perch is making money right now. Toss it close and let it soak. Drives 'em nuts. Twitch
  6. I am sold! Thanks boys - Twitch
  7. Anybody tried a HawgTech handle yet? Really thinking would look cool on a Sol and/or a custom Revo i have. Want some feedback before dropping $80per. Twitch
  8. I will check on that.
  9. Came upon about 20 of these baits, still in the box, all in mint condition, even the boxes. An interesting looking bait, just not something I see myself ever throwing. They are somewhat antique I would guess. Anyone believe any value to them? In the boxes? Is there a good resource to use to research the and serif worth putting on a board and selling them. Thanks for the help, Twitch
  10. I have a 5 year old Fuego that I purchased off a member her (or TT, can't remember which) that was supertuned and sold because was just an extra. It performed flawlessly, I did do the amateur maintenance every year and now it is misbehaving. The casting distance is way short and retrieve seems rough. I took it apart as well as I can, cleaned and lubed. No change. I typically spool it with 30# Power Pro. I only use the Diawa oil and Reel Butter grease on the appropriate parts. Is there anything else I can try on an amateur level? It is going away in the winter for a cleaning anyway, just not ready to retire it for the season yet. Thanks, in advance, for all of your valuable insight. Twitch
  11. Never go without a bag of bubble gum trick worms.
  12. Have used the smaller versions for pan fishing. Crappie find them delicious. If I recall, rock bass seem to like too.
  13. Denny Brauer said try fishing your jig in a swimming pool that you are POSITIVE there are no fish in. That is what your bait feels like when nothing is happening to it. When you are fishing, when and if it DOESN'T feel like that anymore, hook set.
  14. The left! Perfect bluegill for swim jigs.
  15. Guys who throw frogs. If I am using a Heavy action rod that is rated for 25pound test line, but heavy vegetation frog fishing suggests I put 50-65pound braid on, how does that affect the rod? Obviously it is at higher risk of breakage? What are the Setups you experts use and why. Thanks Twitch
  16. The ones that catch more fish than everybody else.
  17. H&K MP5 is a great way to ring thru boxes of .22 ammo also. Lots of add ons too. Little more expensive, $450 range, but no problems.
  18. Have had some Illinois luck in the heat of the summer using 8" Jelly worms or 10" Power worms as trailers on 1/2 and 3/4oz grass jigs. Not really sure if they ever get to the bottom before getting mauled.
  19. I have been fishing Hack Attack Jigs in grass, slop and heavy cover. Really like them BUT, the first 4 I bought, all of the weedguards have fallen off. Anyone else had this problem? Is this something they need to know? How easy is it to replace these guards because I do really like them and have had great results with them using a wide variety of trailers. Thanks for all your advice, Twitch
  20. For this presentation, I have been downsizing to a 4" senko usually and sometimes a 3" with more limited success. I have convinced myself, the shorter length has more time to turn and wiggle and is easier to wacky rig for the same reasons. Twitch
  21. The little "keeper" on the weight that makes it the Okeechobee, I think, makes it very hard to peg the weight to the plastic. It always has a gap. And for some reason, that gap grabs more salad going through slop than you or I could with a shovel. That being said, if you find it does work, don't only take my word because I am FAR from an expert, please let me know how you did make it work. I do like using that rig on edges and other cover. Twitch
  22. I was fishing Rage Tail Shads, top water as advised, and due to gusty winds outside the cove I was in, got an occasional professional overrun that had to be dealt with. After THREE times of this shad getting mauled on the drop, the genius in me took over. If that laterally rigged shad gets eaten falling sideways, this Lateral Perch must be a great idea. They should be here in a few days. The genius that is, Twitch
  23. 3" paddle tail swimbaits have been becoming more popular as trailers for me. Got some Keitech Impact 3"ers from Monster that are very active. The new swimming fluke jr has been doing well too. Twitch
  24. The Triumph rods are SERIOUSLY underrated for power. I have both the Claris and the Triumph and am much happier with the Clarus. Twitch
