  1. Well it is about 99% done. First mod. Let me know what you guys think.
  2. PRIMER - RUSTOLEUM SELF ETCHING PRIMER PAINT - RUSTOLEUM ENAMEL - SMOKE GREY
  3. Last July I bought a 14' Aerocraft, year is late 50's to mid 60's, can't remember the exact year right this second. I have a 1974 Sears Gamerfisher 15hp motor. Boat is great structural condition, with absolutely no leaks. I fished the boat from Late July through September of last year. My plans are/were to: Paint inside Shine outside Put in Flooring and carpet Deck rear and front Add storage Add main and led interior lights Add bilge pump Add bow mount trolling motor Add depth/fish finer Add Rod Holders Fast forward to spring of 2012. It is finally warm enough here in Upstate New York to finally get rolling. I have picked up a lot of the stuff needed over the winter in anticipation of the mod. Here are the picture of the start through painting. Tonight I will grab some 3/4 oak plywood and get the new transom cut (inside and outside piece) and prep it for the Thompsons Water seal. Any suggestions or pitfalls, please feel free to shoot them at me!
  4. Shhh, don't tell people the color. That and black are my sencos of choice. Great job.
  5. I find with my little ones, patience is just something they don't have. I usually try to give them something that is: 1) weedless as possible 2) something they can chuck and rewind Personally, I give them a keitech swim impact on a darter head or a swarming hornet. They will usually insight anything to hit.
  6. I would have to look it up. My brother lives in Cheektowaga and I visted him about a month ago and we checked it out. Lot of nice steelhead came out of there and it just looked real similar to the backdrop of your pics. Nice fish!
  7. That place looks familiar. Anywhere near Scoby d**n?
  8. LOL, I seen that too. But if you look at Cabelas, they have that model with DSI for like $50 more.
  9. Actually Nice BPS has the units for $199. http://www.basspro.com/Lowrancereg;-Mark-4-Fishfinder/Chartplotter/product/11090805011714/247264?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT#BVQAWidgetID
  10. I refuse to carry a cell phone, especially when fishing. LOL, my wife makes me throw a cheapy track phone in my fishing bag but it always sits there till it dies and she gets it out and recharges it, lol.
  11. Very compelling Nice. I fish waters like: Oneida - 50,894 acres Skaneateles - 8,960 acres Otisco - 2,200 acres But I also spend a lot of time on waters like: Lake Como - 70 acres Deruyter Reservoir - 575 acres Dryden Lake - 106 acres Little York Lake - 102 acres It isn't a case of saving. I can do that. But honestly, I would never pay that much money for a unit. Maybe if it wasn't on a small aluminum boat, or if I was doing a lot of tourneys, or most important, if my wife wouldn't kill me, lol.
  12. Thanx J. I am trying to decide between the Lowrance Elite-4x DSI Color Imaging Fishfinder or the Lowrance® Mark-4 Fishfinder/Chartplotter. Both are about $199 and I have been going back and forth.
  13. Would you choose to have GPS or Down Scan Imaging on the front of your boat. My budget has me looking at a depth finder for the front of the boat with one or the other. I have a pretty simple Hummingbird unit in the back that I use for basic structure etc.. for when I am on the move. I have a 14' aluminum v-hull that has a front deck with trolling motor and I would like to add a sonar up there. But, I am trying to decide which would benefit me more as I can't afford a big unit, with everything I am doing to the boat this spring. So if it was your choice, would you opt for DSI or GPS? Thanks in advance for the opinions.
  14. RW, Do you use it for soft jerkbaits like fluke, or just on hard jerkbaits such as pointers?
  15. Jennifer Nettles, drooooooling. LOL. I guess I am the minority. If I am with my brother or father, never once in 30 years. If I have the wife and kids out, yes, everytime. If I am with buddies, not usually as we are talking crap back and forth. By myself....the mp3 player has the country music rolling, but I use earphones.
  16. Healthy, what is healthy, lol. I can't think of anything other than fillet the fish, cut in chunks, deep fry with Shore Lunch eat it with some hot sauce and cole slaw. Dammit, now I am hungry.
  17. With winter finally settling in, in upstate NY, I find myself getting itchy to restock all the items I went through and picking up new stuff to try. When do you guys find your self going through all the websites and fliers and going crazy? Who has good sales this time of year?
  18. Caffeine shad all the way. I love the fall on them.
  19. I have tried several styles with absolutely no results. On the craw I have actually gotten a few short hits. But the paca craws are less expensive and I have had more luck with them. I just haven't had the results that a lot of you get with the Rage line.
  20. OK, thanx for the information. I had gotten a lot of conflicting info and wanted to make sure to use what was best for my reels. I will give shimano a call this afternoon.
  21. I need to get some oil and grease to do the winter cleaning on some reels. Can you use hot sauce or reel butter products on shimano reels without doing damage? Is one better than the other? Thanks in advance.
  22. I have tried lots of the knock offs, but I still come back to the Senco. Cost doesn't hurt my feelings if I am catching fish. But buying knock off after knock off that don't work and sit around my garage is pointless in my book.
  23. I love smallmouth fishing more than anything. Here is what I will have tied up for tomorrow morning when I go out with my brother: DROPSHOT - ROBOWORMS CRANKBAIT - 1.5 SQUAREBILLS - RED EYE SHAD 1/2 OZ CAFFEINE SHAD - 5" SENCO - 5" KEITECH SWING IMPACTS - 4" ON A DARTER HEAD SCROUNDER HEAD 3/8 OZ - FLUKE 4" OR LAKE FORK SHAD 4.5" TUBE JERKBAIT - LC POINTER, RAPALA XRAP, RIVER 2 SEA SUSPENDER 88 I will usually switch up till I find them and then stick with whatever is working.
