  1. I hope it is ok to post this in this area. If you had a Megabass XJ 100, and could paint it with any pattern or color scheme, what would it be? If you had a Megabass Popmax and could paint it with any pattern or color shceme, what would it be? I decided to break the winter depression, I would break out the old airbrush and paint some lures. But I am infamous for painting everything shad variants. What would you do?
  2. JIGS CAROLINA RIG TOPWATER WORMS - RIBBON AND PADDLE TAIL STYLE CREATURE BAITS All I have used a tiny, little bit, with good success, but I always go to my "go-to" baits right away and sometimes, just don't use other things.
  3. In reality, there are few things I guess I wouldn't throw. More so things I wouldn't do. I don't throw big swimbaits, kind of overkill in my neck of the woods (Upstate NY). I don't want to throw a-rigs. Dont want to buy another setup just for them and seems like my shoulder would hate me after a while. I am not a deep cranker. I have brands I like. I have brands I don't care for. But what is good to some, is not for others. I more so look at what techniques I need to learn or get better at. I have caught fish on jigs, but need more confidence and practice with them. I am learning the carolina rig. You guys can be senko snobs all you want, I will use them, catch fish and be happy buying more. I have used Rage Tail baits without a lot of success, but I will try them from time to time and I love the new twin tail menace, cant wait to try it. I have a little of this and that, I have no brand loyaltly. If I like it, I will use it. Whatever catches fish. Those are the lures I like! NO MATTER WHAT LURE YOU USE, WHATEVER THE PERCEPTION BY OTHER IS, IT IS STILL CALLED FISHING AND NOT CATCHING.
  4. Ya, something is definetely awry. I could kick myself for not stocking up.
  5. I felt the pressure too, I bought one to try on my new wright and mcgill rick clunn s-glass reaction rod. I also broke down and bought xps fluoro, 12# to try it with. we shall see!
  6. Bass Pro in Auburn had like 3 boxes of pest rounds, that was it! I have half a brick left and I am scrambling now. This just sucks. Something is fishy, seems a little too much like the government is regulating the release of them. hmmmmmmmmmmm
  7. I figured I was putting way too much braid on, lol. Is the KVD line conditioner different that much from say line butter?
  8. I have been using braid pretty religiously on my spinning and casting reels. Which I am happy with. I have gotten pretty efficient tying the uniknot, at least for the leaders. But with all the sales going on, I figured I would pickup some fluoro and try it out on one of my casting reels. I started thinking, how much line do I really need to put on the spool? Now I always use backing with braid, but how many yards of braid do you guys throw on after the backing? For cranking and stick baits how much fluoro do you guys use? I fish for bass, walleye etc in upstate NY.
  9. I wonder what is the deal with the Bionic casting combo. Price online says it is normal $129.98. But on the flyer it says normal price is $109.99, on sale for $69.97. I bet they are pulling the old black friday get people in the door trick (like they do with the tv's making you think it is a great deal until you get there and realize it is a special for black friday and doesnt have the normal options but is a stripped down model).
  10. Ya but I always have to give him a hard time about it. Boy does he hate it.
  11. Not yet, I looked. Someone should have it scanned in by now, cmon guys.
  12. I love it when my brother calls them strike indicators. His way of feeling better about using a bobber, lol.
  13. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE. Looks like I will be making the trip. I heard they have a ruberized net for like $10. I hate my nylon net. I spend more time getting trebles out of it that I care to admit.
  14. I haven't gotten mine yet, this sucks, lol. Do they have the PQ on sale this year?
  15. Thanks, I am using them as internal weighting in lures I am making and that width saves me tons of time.
  16. 2500 Sahara, I own like 3 of them and love them to death. going on 4 seasons now!
  17. Can anyone tell me if they have a drop shot weight, 1/4 oz, that is about 6mm or 1/4" in width. What brand is it is? Thanks in advance.
  18. I use them a lot for smallies. Those and the regular swing impacts. I put them on a 1/4 or 3/8oz darter head and swim them. Deadly!
  19. Which of the two rods would it match better with?
  20. Ok, I need a little help deciding on a new reel. I have three casting outfits that I use, everything else is done on spinning equipment. The first one is my finesse setup and is all set, been using it for a couple of years. Happy with it. Now, I have a Wright & McGill Clunn Reaction Rod 7' MH Clear Sq Bill that I recently picked up on discount. The other rod I have is a KVD Signature Series 7’ M Fast. Those two rods pretty much cover everything I need. For reels I have (1) Carbonlite, 6:4:1. Here are my questions: 1) What rod would you put the Carbonlite on? 2) What reel would you go with for the other rod: A) Revo SX BPS Pro Qualifier C) Curado D) Other 3) What gear ratio? What would you guys suggest? I think that those two set-ups will handle just about anything I would do. How important would “looks” or matching colors be to you? Would it only come into play if the reels were comparable? I am still a newbie when it comes to casting equipment. Not totally green as I can usually go out and fish all day without a birds nest, but not an expert by any means, so ease of use should be taken into account. Thanks in advance everyone. Sometimes I so overthink things and need outside perspective to help, lol.
  21. I absolutely hate my net. It is great on size and the fact it is collapsible. I so hate wasting time trying to get the treble hooks out of it. Plus it can lead to an injury to me or extended time out of the water for the fish. What type/brand of nets do you guys use? Is rubber an option?
  22. How often do they email. I sent them an email yesterday and still don't have a response?
  23. There are certain plastics I use. After running out and buying all the fads in all the colors, then thinning the stuff out cause it was just too much. I found there are certain things I use regularly. Soft stickbait Fluke style bait Floating finesse worm Paddle tail I usually have each kind in natural color such as shad or a white with black top. Now the brands I use, Gary Yamamoto Roboworm Keitech I try to keep it simple.
  24. Stanley Ribbits with a spring lock all the way for me.
  25. I agree 100%
