  1. Thanks for the great suggestions guys. What size offset worm hooks are you using for say a 4" tube, 3" tube etc...
  2. My kids are both ends, my 15 year old son wants nothing to do with fishing. He is out for 15-20 minutes on the boat and the the pole get set down and he is eating or texting or trying to sleep. My 10 year old daughter on the other hand. I get her set up with something she wants to use. She has things she likes to use, sometimes frogs, sometimes jerkbaits etc..... and she will literally fish for 8 hours. Bring her a little food and drink and she is set. My 4 year old loves to fish, as long as it is blue gills and he is reeling them in one after another. Once they slow down, he is looking for rocks to throw, food to eat, lol. I just try to let them do their own thing. If I try to force, they go the opposite direction. They don't have to fish, just spending time with them is more than most get. Bring them along and compromise, let them bring their cell or little handheld games or books whatever.
  3. What brands do you use Roadwarrior? Do you guys always use the weighted hooks or inserted weights? What about bullet weights? Tubes are going to be the technique I try to learn this year so I am trying to figure out what direction to go as far as tackle.
  4. What type/brand and weight of jig heads do you guys use for your 4"-5" tubes? Do you use rattles? Weedguards?
  5. I had a carbonlite in both casting and spinning. I really liked the rods, really did. But both were returned because of the hook holders rusting. If I pay that much for a rod, it shouldn't rust with less than 1 season on them.
  6. Excellent, I really look forward to this. Whoever is behind me will see a lot of Rage Tail products I never got to use this year.
  7. Any spots left, last year was fun. Let me know.
  8. Our local tiny fishing store just got a make-over and now they actually carry more than trout equipment and senco's. They had a bunch of different items in the Trigger X line. I read it over and grabbed a few items. Anyone have any insight? THanks in advance.
  9. I know you are supposed to keep it from touching other plastics, but what about scents like Mega-Strike?
  10. Does anyone have any insight on these? I am thinking about trying them and wondered if anyone has some experience with the pro'/con's?
  11. I have just started trying these types of baits. Nothing caught yet. I usually fish them weightless working them like a senco. Am I doing something wrong? Also, what is the difference between the Ika and Kinami Palm tree?
  12. I do blast the 8lb mono with line butter when I am spooling it up.
  13. I use Sufix on almost all of my setups. With the exception of my Yo-zuri casting setup. I use the Sufix Seige, 8lb on a spinning setup, Sufix performance braid in 50 lb on casting (punching, frogs) and 20lb on my drop shot setup and worm setup. I have no problems with any of it.
  14. I just use a superglue gel with a brush applicator. Works awesome, inexpensive and easy for my to get my hands on when needed.
  15. I use suffix 6lb diameter equivalent for my dropshot rod and I really like it. And the only time I found that I need a leader is in gin clear water. The rest of the time I believe it is a preference or confidence thing.
  16. I like to have at least one ear bud in. For some reason it helps me to stay slow when I am fishing. I tend to fish fast and the music helps to calm me.
  17. I ordered right from Spro themselves. Supposed to ship today. And yes, Tackle warehouse says they will have them the 7/28 or 7/30. Although it looks like a couple of the colors have sold out even before they have shipped.
  18. Thanks, just placed my order!
  19. Thanks for the suggestions.
  20. If you were in a pinch, and needed to run to Wally world or something to grab reel grease, what would you grab? What works better to clean metal parts, lighter fluid or wd-40?
  21. I throw them on braid, gamakatsu weighted spring lock hooks. Usually more of a stop and go to steady retrieve. Since they are weedless I throw them on weed edges, above the weeds etc.... I just get sick and tired of gluing them back together after the pike and pickerel have a go at them.
  22. You guys are right in my stomping ground. I fish Oneida occasionally, but usually fish Otisco, Skaneateles and Owasco. Never caught much on Owasco though.
  23. With kids I usually don't say anything and just pack up my stuff and leave. Unless they are getting close to my tackle. If it is an adult, well, I am not the most patient or tactful person. They usually get told to move. But I hate jet skis. The people never have any respect.
  24. Personally I use the BPS ugly yellow boat bag. it is big enough and water resistant as well.
