  1. caught this fish on 4/9/09 on orange lake near gainesville. It weighed 9.4lbs on my digital it was also my personal best.
  2. Well im not fishing the tourney but i live on hatchineha and probably will be fishing a few days on the K throughout this week. Have you done any pre-fishing recently to locate bass? I have found quality tourney bass where the kissimmee river empties into the K. When the water is moving from rains there is a flat on either side of the channel that produces bass early in the AM. Rattle traps and spinnerbaits are dangerous.
  3. Yes i sure do. I live almost a stones throw away from port hatch. I actually just got back from my first slow day on kissimmee in a little bit. I've been fishing the canal that opens into lake kissimmee from the hatch and cypress. When there are good rain storms and this canal has moving water fishing can be deadly from what ive found in the past few weeks. Bass are waiting early in the AM and late in the PM on the flats on both sides of the canal for schooling shad. From the looks of it most of these fish are fatties and are stuffed with shad. Spinnerbaits and rattle traps in these areas make for some fast action if fished at the right time.
  4. Im just giving this thread a little bump and sharing some of my success that i've had on kissimmee lately. I live on lake hatchineha so getting there is a short ride. We've been having alot of success in the mornings with rattle traps in blue & sliver and white terminator spinnerbaits.
  5. As a little update i went fishing again today and i lost count of how many we caught. We kept a few that we a couple pounds. We fished McCormick island and gator hole extensively. Both of these places produced the best amount of bass. We used a watermelon red speed worm with a split shot a foot above the hook. Pitching this combo in lily pads i landed this mama. We weighed her and it came to 9lbs on a cheap scale.
  6. Well I have been to orange lake a few times now. I have yet to get the big mama but we have been productive regardless. Alot of smaller fish 1-2lbs and just a few in the 3lb range. The most productive bait has been a chartuse terminator spinnerbait and a close second was a watermelon seed zoom speed worm with a split shot one foot above the hook. Hopefully going back on thursday....more pictures and hopefully larger fish!
  7. As a slight update we went for a short fish this saturday and caught seven total fish in 1-1/2 hr and within sight of the boat ramp because of engine trouble. The Terminator spinnerbait was the most productive lure with a culprit worm a close second. Again I went fishing on sunday for about two hours and landed 12 bass. Nothing of too large size yet but most were about 2lbs. I will be going back again this weekend hopefully for a much longer time. Updates will come along with some pictures of the big one....I hope.
  8. Ok awesome, thanks for the heads up. Our public ramp is on orange so we will just stick to that area then. Its funny you mention the flukes because i just stocked up on them and a few spinnerbaits for this trip. Hopefully i will find the fish.
  9. I will be fishing orange lake and possibly lake lochloosa this weekend and was curious what type of success people have had on these waters. I know of a few spots near the public boat ramp on 441 where I have heard of nice fish as well as on the NE side of the lake between what locals call the twenty brothers and seven sister palms. Thanks for any help.
