  1. So last year, March I met a dude online that just moved to the area and wanted to get out on a local lake. I usually have a free seat in my boat so I offered to take him. First trip out, he catches nothing and fall into the lake (52 degree water) and drive home in his wet boxers (about 40 mins). next half a dozen trips that year he catches nothing ever, watches me catch a ton but seems no matter where I put him, the fish just did not want to bite for him. In the meantime he probably loses a hundred dollars of crank baits, spinners, chatter baits, and jigs to the lake. So been a few months I hit him up last week to go out friday. reminding him that I still do not allow swimming from the boat in the spring (Hey I am bound by man laws to remind him). He txts back within second a resounding "YEAH!" abd we set out Friday 6:30am. Starts out the same, I catch one early he is getting nothing. I move north where there is some current because of the dam and let the current pull us down the shore along a large shelf for about 3/4 mile. He pulls 3 LMB off the shelf and finally breaks his curse. Now anyone can claim to be die hard when they are catching them. This guy drops everything at the drop of a hat to get out there even when he has not managed to pull a single bass out of the lake in a year. LOL, all that and no swimming.
  2. Thanks...THAT was the stuff I used, definitely good stuff.
  3. One warning on JB Weld. From what I was told by a welder, once you use it you make it impossible for him to weld it. So...if you use it, it had better work. That being said, it is a lot cheaper than a welder. Also, consider some brazing rods. there are some good ones out there. Though if you go that route, get some practice first...
  4. I hear ya. Growing up we made a few family trips to Rich Stadium to watch the Bills and attempt to lose body parts to frostbite. We would get a lot of folks to go along, tailgate in the lot, was a good time and while not cheap by any means, it was still affordable. Nowadays, the prices are ridiculous, especially in my new home in Charlotte. They really do not give a toot about the everyday fan anymore, it is all about the boxes and rich folks.
  5. Agree. I don't really think it is a racial thing or that he was trying to make it one. He is just convinced that because they expect him to work HARD for his millions they are slave drivers. What he needs to do is spend 6 months working for min wage at McD's. I did it for 4 years through high school. He thinks his job is "slavery" he should lay under a hot grill with a toothbrush and a small cup of degreaser scrubbing baseboards (did that plenty of times).
  6. Seriously Adrian Peterson thinks so: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/03/adrian-peterson-players-place-in-nfl-like-modern-day-slavery/1 I am thinking Mr. Peterson would do well to step back from the microphones and crack open a history book or 2. He is doing himself and the players in general no favors by making comments like this.
  7. for me, always in the water. Had one slip on me once, got lucky and did not drop it off the trailer. Since then that puppy has that strap secured before I pull up and finish up the rest of the strappin' down.
  8. Bought a brand new Tracker 14' jon. Customized the crud out of it. Rear and front casting decks. full electronics setup, bilge pump, nav lights, redneck live well. Loved that boat and it saw some serious mileage on the lake. Course I love my PT 175 now even more
  9. Depends, who said it blows chunks? Was it a real critic, cause if so then I got to be seeing it. Ain't nothing a critic hates that i have not liked.
  10. Should get some more fishing in this fall and winter then. Honestly, I have pretty much written the entire league off. Doubly so after I read a pity party news article on MSNBC a while back about how all these poor players live paycheck to paycheck. 350k a year minimum and they live paycheck to paycheck. I make less than a 3rd of that and you would never catch me whining about how little I make. Given the events in Japan, the flooding in the North East US. the high unemployment, foreclosures, etc, I am so done with these whiny athletes and actors who have no idea how the real world runs. Besides I am a Panthers fan and we ain't winning anything this year anyway. lol.
  11. immaturity in teens is normal but that level if disrespect is not, at least where I came from. In the small town I grew up in though everyone knew everyone. If i had done that, if the guy at the store did not smack me, he would have known who I was and would have called my dad, personally, I would have preferred the guy at the store smacking me.
  12. Think of it this way, your friends will always remember you, course not sure you want them to look back on your death as a good thing. lol.
  13. Nice. Take her out and get to know her.
  14. How much difference is there in the from deck on the 190 and the 175? In BPS they do not look that different. I have a 175 and I would not try 2 up front. Course I keep 5-7 rigs on deck with me. Though I could never see enough difference between the 175 and 190 to justify the extra cost. literally you get 1 foot and that's about it. Same electronics, same livewell, pumps, etc. That's a tough call, but if these guys are right about the Xpress ride, then I would lean that way. Though my 175 rides nice for me. and having the middle seat is nice when me and my bud go out and bring one of the youngins with us. The rod locker on the Trackers leave much to be desired but I never use mine. I keep my rods on deck with me.
  15. You may want to rethink that. I mean if those bracelets get to loaded with negative ions, their polarities may push your arms apart (assuming you put one on each arm) and eventually rip them off. You could put them on 1 arm next to each other but then the strength of those little suckers could tear a hole in the space/time continuum resulting in a worm hole. Now that happens on the lake, you are gonna mess up all the fishing. Besides, I have found that getting on my boat, firing her up and throwing some lines in the water is all I need to get rid of any negative ions I may be carrying. Yeah the bracelet may be cheaper than the boat but nowhere near as fun.
