  1. it's a hard long road of living i wouldn't want to be sendin' the wrong idea that i'm gettin' soft i just keep on getting lost i don't care too much if i ever find my way back home yea... the railways are too rusty the roads are just too dusty i sit and watch the day die all alone it's just me and the sun pretty soon he gone when he goes i away i go get stoned
  2. if you have a regular canoe (not like the one in the pic) i would suggest you make or buy some outriggers to make it more stable. unless you have a very good sense of balance, putting in spinning seats in a canoe sounds like a sure way of getting wet, at least i would.
  3. i agree, we need more green energy like wind, solar, natural gas, etc.
  4. here's an easy way to find out, and you'll know exactly what the weight is. if you have a bathroom scale (the kind you stand on to see what your weight is) place it on a cement block or some wood, needs to be around the same height as your hitch. place the trailer end on the scale and raise up the jack until it's off the ground. then you can see what it weighs.
  5. something easier & cheaper would be to try putting on some bump stops, go to a junkyard that lets you pick your own parts and find a couple off a truck, those would be the thickest. mount them on your frame right above the axle. only down side would be if you hit a hard bump the whole trailer & boat would take a hard hit if the stop hits the axle.
  6. is this the band that did a remake of Behind Blue Eyes?
  7. if it was me i would get another spring like the one you bought so it would be the same on both sides, just in case the new spring has a different flex to it then the old ones. i am sure drilling the holes to 9/16 would not hurt anything but be sure you use a grade 8 bolts and not just any type of bolt, you need some that have a high shear rating otherwise they'll break on you. not sure what to tell you about the fiberglass damage, but if it's not leaking or cracking use it but keep an eye on it.
  8. thanks for catching that, i was going by my memory and as usual that was off ;D ;D our canoe's beam is just over 3', the c-channel is 6', and that puts each foam block is around 1' away from the canoe.
  9. ;D ;D ;D ;D i guess with grizzly's it's the same as with people eating corn. ;D ;D ;D
  10. my wife & i picked up a used canoe for $100, i am sure you could find a used one & a motor for under $200, try checking out craigslist around your area or even e-bay or the local classifieds, i bet you can find something. and with fall just around the corner somebody might have one cheap trying to get rid of it before winter. as far as a motor, with a canoe we can paddle faster then what one of those could move us, and we don't have a battery to mess with, and when it comes to weeds, we just glide right through em. ;D
  11. might work as long as you go forward, go backward and your going down ;D i bet someone thinks this is a great idea and buys it.
  12. here's what i did, we have a 12' aluminum canoe, when my wife and i took it out it was always a fight to keep it from tipping over, not anymore! we can stand up, lay back and just relax while fishing and this has made our canoe very stable. keep in mind i threw this together in less then a hour and it's not professional looking by any means, when i get some time i am going to redo it and make it look better. i took 2 styrofoam blocks around 12" tall & 20" long, shaved the front for a v-type shape for easy sliding through the water, carved out a place for the wood to sit in, used clothes line to strap it to the foam, took a piece of c-channel 4' long and screwed that to the wood. i put 2 bolts on the center of the canoe sides and use wing bolts to hold the outriggers to the canoe, very easy to attach & remove without any tools. the foam just barley sits in the water with me and my wife in the canoe and doesn't seem to make any differance in paddleing it.
  13. here's some before & after pics of a couple vinyl seats, there really wasn't much of a differance as far as the way they look but they feel slicker. before pic after pic
  14. First off i would like to thank Rob Faddis for sending me a sample to try & review. this is the first time i have ever used this product and i have to say i am sold on it, very easy to use and the results are very impressive. i will be adding to this post as i try BTS on different surfaces and showing the results. here is the first one. i thought i would try this on a topper i have for a truck, it has some plastic bubble windows that are badly weathered and very dull. after i simply washed it like the directions said to do i applyed some BTS with the sponge applicator and let it dry to a haze then buffed it with a clean towel. here are the results. before pic right after i washed it and it's ready to be treated. after pic of window treated with BTS like i said, i will be adding to this post with results of other surfaces i will be trying BTS on. mike.
  15. oh yea, good ol family fun with those movies.
  16. easy to find, get yourself a piece of hose like a radiator hose or vacum hose, around 2-3 feet long. then open the door so it sounds off. then hold one end to your ear and move the other end around until you isolate where the sound is coming from. if you can get a mechanics stethescope (i think thats how it's spelled) that works the best, they are like the things doctors use to hear your heart, i have one and i have been able find any type noises coming from my vehicles.
  17. my stepmother could pass as one, i need to take a pic of her and get my 15 min. of fame. ;D ;D ;D

  19. oh wow, i didn't know there is musky in this lake, i'll be posting pics of any i catch, well any fish that are big for that matter.
  20. i have been fishing at this lake for as long as i can remember but only from shore, i recently bought a boat and now my wife and i can go all over, but i don't know any good spots other then along the dam area. anyone have a map of this lake showing the hot spots or any other info? i do know one cove that we were at last weekend where i hooked onto a huge bullhead catfish , the hook snapped at the curve just as i was trying to bring it's head up to grab it by the gills >, looks like i need to throw out the old rusty hooks and buy some new ones. we'll be back there again hoping to hook onto another big one every chance we get.
