  1. I've had it a fair amount of success of some of their older crankbaits and lipless baits, especially in clearer water. I concur about the baitball baits though, very limited success with them. Although the baitball pop-r style bait they have is really good when fish are schooling on tiny shad.
  2. Palmetto State Armory in Greenville with have them. It's their color. The PSA Fishing Outpost in Columbia is bigger though. I believe you can order the baits on their website though.
  3. My favorite color is Palmetto Blue Back Herring. It's an exclusive color only available at one of my local tackle stores.
  4. My buddy makes these for Bama Rig heads and they are the best thing I've found when wanting one for shallower water or throwing them into schooling fish. They weigh nearly nothing.
  5. Rat-L-Trap / Bill Lewis has 40% apparel on their website. Picked up 8 nice long sleeves / short sleeves/ and a goodie for $72 shipped.
  6. Academy Outdoors has a big clearance sale going on right now. Anything that ends in .97 is an additional 50% off. The cashier also gave me 10% off for a First Responder discount that was nice of him as well. Most everything pictured was between $1.75 and 2.74. I was extremely thrilled to find the War Eagle Spoons on sale; I plan on painting the purple spoons into more of a shad color.
  7. Perhaps use a trailer hook on your frogs. Lake Fork Tackle makes one for frog fishing and they work out well for an older gentleman that I fish with that can't generate a hard hookset anymore due to some health issues. Most of the time, the fish hook themselves.
  8. Fantastic bait around floating docks and Bream beds. I agree about it not being a fan of wood. I catch a good many on it reeling it in like a wobblehead jig or a crankbait.
  9. If anyone is looking for a good swimbait rod, Jenko Fishing has a nice deal going on.
  10. I was going to order it this morning for one of my small lake boats. Shame it's no longer available. Let us know if your order comes through.
  11. Who makes the triple underspin? I've used a double underspin with great success around here
  12. These weren't marked or placed in the clearance section. I just happened to scan one of the rods and saw that it was part of the sale. Then I started searching the racks for any other unlabeled clearance item.
  13. I have the green rod from the year model before it and it's my favorite jig rod. I figured these would be pretty good too.
  14. If anyone has a local Academy Outdoors, their clearance items are now an additional 75% off. I found a bunch of older model rods for cheap. Really happy about the St. Croix rod for $14.99 and the various All Stars for $7.99. Several versions of the purple All Star rods rang up anywhere from $7.99 - 79.99. Majority of the models were $14.99. I should make the ol' lady happy since she is getting a few of the purple rods as part of her arsenal.
  15. They are gone already. Sold those 3 and funded my Curado DC purchase.
  16. I bought the 3 they had. They woman at the reel counter encouraged me too. I wish the right hand one had been on sale though. I believe Tacklewarehouse does some type of Tax Stimulus sale around the month of March or so to match when income taxes come in for most people.
  17. Academy is having a nice sale. Everything on clearance is an additional 50% off. Bought 3 Shimano Citicas for $32 13 Fishing Inception for $30 Lews Mach IISpinning Reel for $29 H20 Xpress Camo Swimbait/A-rog rod for $16 H20 Xpress Camo crankbait rod for $12 And a few other boat items and lures for crazy cheap
  18. Guy doesn't do social media. Old school guy. I always stop by his shop and place an order. He builds them one at a time.
  19. I added this custom Ike Live Abu Garcia Revo Premier to my arsenal on Monday. I received it from a contest on the Ike Live podcast show. It got a pretty good work out today throwing a Red Eye Shad around.
  20. These are two of my favorite made locally by a guy here in South Carolina. The bluegill is my #1 prop bait, but that shiner one has caught some monsters down in Florida on Lake Okeechobee for some buddies.
  21. Check with CarolinaFishingTackle. They had the Respect series color last I checked
  22. Palmetto State Armory will have Skeet Reese combos for $30. May ride by after work and pick up a few as gifts.
  23. Me and a buddy bought 4 Dobyns Sierra rods for $38 each and 4 Mitchell spinning reels for $10 each. My local academy had a 75% off clearance sell on any price that ended with a *7cent. I was thrilled to find them.
  24. Stopped back by Academy this morning and found one last hidden gem. I bought a Chronarch last week for $99 here and I thought it was a steal then. Found the display model and asked them about it and guess what? $49. Also found some $50 Camo Onyx Life Jackets for $4.98.
  25. Stopped by Academy today and they had another gigantic clearance event. 50% off anything with a Clearance tag. Picked up a beautiful Dobyns Sierra 683C rod for $49 and an Abu Garcia Revo for $25. Only problem is the Revo is LH and I use RH reels. I may trade the reel for another RH reel or keep it and use it to flip with. Picked up a few other crazy deals there as well other than the fishing items.
