  1. Amen, to that traveler. I was injured in 91, kept working til 2002. I was forced into retirement. Couldn't go back to my old job, the doctors would not release me. Nobody would hire me, so I collect my military retirement, fish when I can, sit at home and rot when I can't. IT SUCKS!!! I am willing to work just not able, and I'm only 43.

  10. I see this is still being debated, lol Anyway did some researching Shoal bass are green to olive green not brown, they always have the red eye and a spot near the tail and three lateral bars on the cheek. "The most distinguishing feature of the shoal bass is the dark vertical bars running the length of the body. The red eye is another obvious feature, as well as the round, dark spot that appears toward the base of the tail. Scale color varies from pale olive green, to dark olive green, to even black at times. Three lateral dark bars can be seen on the side of the head across the cheek. " this from this site http://www.sherpagui...eature_feature/ this is a quote from Les Ager, GA Wildlife Resources Division Regional Fisheries Supervisor Again from the same site "Anatomically, the shoal bass is most like the spotted bass. Differences include the typical absence of a tongue patch, a small spot of teeth that occur in the middle of the tongue, in the shoal bass. (Variances do occur in this one characteristic, as we found during our fishing trip on the Flint. One of the shoals we caught had a tongue patch along with all of the other characteristics indicative of a shoal bass.) Additionally, spotted bass are missing the characteristic dark, vertical bars found on the shoal bass. " Also read that the fins of a shoal are transparent as you get closer to the edge of the fin. From all that I can find read and see this is a smallmouth. We shouldn't be suprised with all the differing opinions most of the reading I did on the subject said that even biologist have troulbe. the Shoal although first reported in 1940 was recognized as a separate specie till the 1990's hope this helps
  11. With proper pain management the patient should never be high, the idea that pain patients go around high is wrong. According the pharmicist the patient should not have any sideeffects like constipation. You can not get out of pain you treat it until its manageable. The hardest thing I've ever done is learning how to do nothing without going crazy, and that is debatable, lol
  12. Calling BS, on this, the receptor in your brain that processes pain is unaffected by cannabis, therefore no reduction in pain felt. Basically you just don't care you're hurting.
  13. I can't say for sure but I would bet my next pay check that the purpose of that banner was to download a tracking cookie to your computer, all u would have had to do is touch it with your cursor. If u use Google you have a bunch of them. Ever notice how your junk email is related to what your internet searches are. Google, Yahoo and the rest make allot of money by tracking your internet activity and selling that info to marketing firms. They've been doing it for years nothing illegal about it. Same is true with your bank, every purchase made with a debit card is recorded along with what you bought, that info is then sold.
  14. Academy has in store sales that aren't advertised on the internet.
  15. The advertisement you're referring to has been on everything from the weather website to this one.
  16. Slone, I'm a chronic pain patient been on pain killers longer than I want to say. What I've found is that you should not take any pain medicine before going to bed, they keep you awake. I know this goes against all label warnings of causing drowsiness,.but from my experience drowsiness does not equal sleep. Try taking the meds 2 hours before going to bed, they will be at peak effectiveness and will not interfere with sleep as much. I personally try not to take any after 7.
  17. Glad that was the one u were looking for. Gilmore, I have a buzzbait that the hook is hinged, the idea is that the fish has a harder time throwing the hook. Don't know how true that is because I've never really had that problem, maybe because I use a crankbait rod with my spinners and buzzbaits
  18. Megastrike makes one, called the strike back. Can be found at megastrike.com
  19. . One event I'll never forget in regards to investing was learned in the most unusual way. Was at a friend's house, needed to hit the head. There on the wall instead of wallpaper was literally hundreds of bonds and stocks, I had to ask. Those are the ones that turned out to be worthless. My buddy said that they weren't even worth wiping your butt with, and that using them that way reminded him daily to be more careful with investments. My biggest was buying a house. I knew a couple of things wasn't built right, so I made a ridiculous low offer which was accepted. Bought the place, fixed the problems and thought everything was good. I was sitting on 100 grand of equity. Within 7 years the foundation failed, many floor joists had busted, the steps were leaning. Lost $253,000.00! Turns out the ppl I purchased from knew about the issues, sued the builder and won. None of this was disclosed to me, I had no legal recourse because I lived there over 7 years.
  20. I grew up using spinning tackle didn't pick up my first baitcaster til my 30's. To me its more about what each can do proficiently. Modern baitcasting equipment is not hard to learn, especially if you use a twin braking system. I can cast with my pro qualifier and never touch the spool without overrunning, when the brakes are set up for it. IMO being able to use both enhances the experience.
  21. I'm in the minority, I use a Curado E5 almost exclusively, 20 ipt. I also use a crankbait rod, seems like I pull it away to often if I don't. If I'm fishing 3/8 or less then I'll go to 25 ipt.
  22. He convinced me to try yo-zuri line by giving me the guarantee that he would purchase any unused line I had. Don't know if he even remembers that but I do. Yo-zuri is the only line I use. Never met him be he has always taken the time to answer any question i've ever had.
  23. I'm not that old 43 but I still remember when the practice was to push the thumb bar and let the fish run with rubber worms. You didn't set the hook until the fish started the second run. The logic was to let the bass get the worm deep in its mouth before setting the hook, I still don't set the hook on the initial strike.
  24. I'm in the minority I use a crankbait reel that takes up 20 inches of line per turn, a 5.1:1. Mainly due to the type of spinnerbait I fish, now if I'm using a traditional bait I'll jump up to 25 ipt, never more than that it is easier to speed up than slow down for me.
