  1. Are you saying your charger uses 45 amps? You do know that's not possible right? A standard circuit breaker is rated at 20 amps a gfi normally 10-15 which is any outside outlet garage included, so unless you have a special circuit dedicated to charging your boat the aforementioned example is impossible. Besides that your extension cord would melt trying to conduct that many amps, standard 14ga extension cords are rated at 15 amps. Like already stated automatic chargers list the maximum output they do not operate or charge deep cycle batteries at those amps. It would literally blow your battery apart.
  2. NADA lists the manufacturers weight.
  3. These are some of the coolest river boats I've ever seen. If I still lived in WV, I'd have one for the Greenbrier and New Rivers. http://www.riverpro-boats.com
  4. Thanks, I did some looking but couldn't find them. They may have been pulled by now
  5. Where did u see the sonar images?
  6. Didn't even think of it that way, lol. To tell the truth if there was a way to roll back or see thru the water at any beach very few ppl would swim. You're never more than 50 to 100 yds away from sharks. Just the way it is. I just got back from Boston and they actually run PSA's up there telling ppl to quit letting their kids swim near the seals. I mean c'mon, its a known great white area (the psa included info on tagged sharks that were back) and ppl let their kids swim with one of the sharks favorite food! IDIOTS! Back to public fishing piers and swimming at the beach. Do yourself a favor and don't swim near them or down current from them. Couldn't tell u the number off ppl I've seen show up with a cooler full of blood and chum for shark fishing at night. I thought that stuff was common knowledge.
  7. Ask in a pm, per forum rules can't openly bash a company
  8. Sorry I don't know of any, the Santee Cooper chain is a couple of hours away. If it was me, I'd go to Little river inlet and fish for reds. The offshore charters there are fairly useless, the gulf stream is about 200 miles offshore in that area. The fishing in between is hit or miss. Although the state record tiger shark about 1700lbs was caught off of the pier just north of the strip in Cherry Grove. As with any touristy beach shark fishing can be good.
  9. As a previous Goldwing owner, not the newest style the last type before the current 1800, unless they're vastly improved in suspension, they're about as fun to ride as a couch. Complete yawn fest and I'm a cruiser guy! I've owned Harley, Honda, Kawasaki and a Yammy, all cruisers except the Goldwing and a street trail KLR.
  10. My first street bike was a Honda ACE Tourer 800 lbs and 1100cc's. Not the best choice to learn on, the motorcycle road test generally comprises of weaving thru cones, a right turn and a 20mph lock up skid. I used a buddies street and trail to pass the test on, easy on it, it wasn't so easy on my touring bike. Bikes today are no where near as powerful as in the past, I would recommend taking the course, most places supply the bike, then depending on the style of riding u want to do pick your bike. If you like the crotch rocket stay around 600cc max for your first one and buy used, you'll likely be selling it in a couple years for a bigger one. If you like cruisers stay under 1000cc and under 600lbs. Again buy used you will want to up size soon. I really enjoy riding and miss it, maybe I'll have another one someday.
  11. I respect your right to disagree with me. As I tell people all the time "you have the right to be wrong" Yes smart chargers and bank chargers are labeled as 15 amps, but that is their maximum output for the entire bank, not each battery. I've had as many as a thousand batteries in the field all charging utilizing solar panels. The largest charger utilized 4amps. We had to inspect them annually and replace any faulty battery within 24 hours. So naturally we used the technology that provided the maximum charge while maintaining the maximum life of each battery. Quick charging a deep cycle battery will shorten it's life. Just did a quick Google search, Interstate, optima and charger manufacturer Waeco all recommend long and slow on their deep cycle batteries. Smart chargers that quick charge to 80% of the battery are referring to voltage not amp hour. Some volt meters have an amp hour setting, use it to check your boat's onboard charger. I think you'll be surprised at how slow the charger is recharging amp hours.
  12. Deep cycle marine batteries should not be charged using 6amps, you'll shorten the life of the battery. Deep cycle batteries require a long slow charging cycle, I always used the 2 amp setting on the portable unit I used to use. Marine batteries hold a large amount of amps but discharge then very slowly, the same goes when charging them a longer slow charge will result in more useable power and will provide a longer life. Just out of curiosity which battery is not charging to the point that you would like? Cranking? TM?
  13. Dude your should be on Rippley's Believe It or Not. I have a Dancin Eeli can't throw it away, because it looks like it should work. I like the action,.but honestly you're the first person I know of who has reported catching a fish with one.
  14. Darren your family ifs in my prayers, especially your Mom and Dad. Do u have any updates on prognosis yet?
  15. Motley Crue, AC/DC, KISS, Ozzy, Kid Rock (later stuff Born Free, etc) my 10 year old really likes Twisted Sister, Country Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, CDB, Hank Williams Jr, Colt Ford, Southern Rock Lynrd Skynrd, Allman Bros, Bluegrass Allison Kraus, Soggy Bottom Boys, The Henson Girls, Ricky Skaggs, I could go on and on
  16. Is there a reason you think it should read 13.2 volts when fully charged? If it's the cranking battery I wouldn't give it a second thought, idk if I would care if it's one of the TM batteries it is only half a volt. Does your volt meter have a way of checking amps? I would be concerned if the amps were way off. Half a volt I wouldn't worry about. I bet it's the cranking battery that shows less voltage, not a problem. Besides that your cranking battery gets charged by the motor anyway. I have a 36 volt TM, my onboard charging system only charges the TM batteries, the cranking battery doesn't require re-charging after every outing
  17. Ever see three old series "Locked Up Abroad" on history? I was always amazed how many of these ppl thought their Constitutional rights followed them around the globe!
  18. All composite construction, wood will rot, even fiberglass will rot given enough time in a wet environment, wood rots faster. Trolling motor needs a thorough inspection, electrical systems can be a pita, have the owner show u the fuse or beaker box Does it have an onboard charger, does it work. Check all of the batteries, mine has four, ensuring that all of the TM batteries are the same size, make and age. Make sure it was stowed inside or at least covered (carport) and also covered with a fabric cover (both). Also check the trailer out thoroughly, electric or hydraulic brakes, are the bunks starting to rot, tires in good shape, type of bearings oiled or greased. Never buy a used boat without a test ride and compression test, MINIMALLY.
  19. My contacts are progressive type lenses, the new style contacts (compared to the old hard style) are so comfortable you don't even know you're wearing them.
  20. I just returned from Beanown, hilarious I literally lol'd Even managed to pass tea through my nose. Oh btw don't ask for regular coffee at a restaurant, regular is cream and sugar not black.
  21. The Banjo Minnow Doug Hannon's Snake Bill Dance's Dancin Eel Et al I don't care the circumstance, don't catch anything but anglers.
  22. I was under the impression that Di units do not work well in shallow water. I know u have to be moving for them to work. I have no idea how Lowrance Di units work when in 2d, but I suspect the unit is using a Di traducer and then translating that into a 2d display. If this is the case then there isn't much u can do. If, however, u have a standard transducetr then its a settings problem. BTW just because u have a display that is capable of Di that doesn't necessarily mean u have a Di transducer. Lowrance is pretty bad about selling units capable of Di and or Si but u have to purchase the transducer separately. This is one of the reasons I went Humminbird. I was looking at a Lowrance unit, the salesman informed me that although the unit was capable of structure scam and Di, that the transducers were extra, that it came with a standard transducer.
  23. This is such a sore subject with me, current crude prices are $57.63/barrel. I'm 46 all off my adult life when reporting on gas prices the media always referred to the cost/barrel as the MAIN factor affecting cost/gallon at the pump. Now to justify the high cost/gallon the media blames the futures market, refinery shutdowns etc. The fact is that consumers are getting shafted by the oil companies (Exxon, British Petroleum, Citgo, etc). Of course there are factors like the futures market, refinery problems, etc., but the main factor affecting what we pay is the price/barrel. The oil companies are continually reporting record profits, why? Because the market can support the additional costs, we as the purchasing market are just plain stupid enough to pay it. The reality is if we would demand a fair price, the cost/gallon would drop significantly. The current price/barrel should have a cost/gallon around $1.50. Gas hit $2/gallon when the cost per barrel went above $100, but now the low $2's/gallon seems great. I just wish America's populace would wake up.
  24. Will do Wayne, my back its out right now may be a few days.
  25. Amen brother!
