  1. Man I really hoped it wouldn't have come to this..........ok you guys win
  2. No more Wonderbread, ho-ho's, ding-dongs or twinkies. How will man kind survive??? Seriously though, how thickheaded to you have to be as an employee/union member? Compromise and keep your job or go in the unemployment line......I'm sure there is no lack of demand for the people who put the filling in the twinkies. How do you even put that on a resume??? 18000 people out of work
  3. I don't throw a frog enough to dedicate a set up for that, I do have two jig rods though, both mh xf. The reel with braid is the one I use for frogging, does fine IMO
  4. Y'all need to get your minds out if the gutter, lol. I'm thinking more like my favorite meal, a day off, a new set up for fishing. This one wasn't bad, lot of fights between the wolves and vampires, different alliances, etc.
  5. Gotta be better than last year took her to see ballet! Now I'm a country boy as simple as dirt, man was I out of place:-)
  6. I'm hoping the"pay off" will be worth it
  7. I broke down and bought tickets for the latest installment of the Twilight series. The bride is excited, and I'll get some movie popcorn out of the deal plus a few hours alone time, that's a rare thing when u have four kids, lol. Going to the 11 o'clock showing tonight.
  8. Congrats on the new equipment, buying new stuff is always fun. I've never heard of the rod and I haven't bought a spinning reel for quite some time, so I can't help ya there. Have fun on your trip
  9. Absolutely not. If you ever see me running that means something big and nasty is chasing me.
  10. Like many here I started with a spin cast, quickly graduated to spinning and didn't start baitcasting til my mid 30's. I have always casted right and reeled left, but with b/c equipment I cast right and reel right. Don't understand why. The only thing I can speculate is that with spinning gear the reeling hand is a bit lower than the rod hand. On b/c almost the same plane, I've tried to make the switch just feels odd. Even today I cast right reel left with spinning and cast and reel right with baitcasting.
  11. Zoom Ol monster watermelon/red, black/blue
  12. Dancin eel
  13. Powerchoke lol, the trouble Ford had with the second generation powerstroke is one of the reasons I shied away from ecoboost. I really hope it is the real deal though, Ford is betting their future on it. Knowing that Ford was the only American car company that didn't take the bail out money. That fact made me want to buy the Ford, but GM (government motors) have me such a deal.
  14. That's crazy awesome. Aren't moose fairly aggressive?? That was very cool.
  15. The ipt is the crucial factor, between manufacturer and series within the manufacturer reels there can be a significant variation of ipt with similar gear ratio. Abu's reels are like this a 6.3/1 brings in 30ipt on the C4, but the Revo with a 6.4/1 only brings in 26ipt. Good luck
  16. Forgot you were a mechanic thanks for the great info. . A question please. Ford describes this as a parallel turbo, that the turbos work simultaneously and equally providing the required boost. Each turbo has its own exhaust line one for each side, in other words there is a right and left side turbo. One turbo for cylinders on the right (1,3&5?) Another for the left (2,4&6? I have no idea how cylinders are numbered). Would this set up work the same as u previously described?
  17. Remove the reel seat tension nut (that little thing you twist to hold the reel in place), look into the reel seat, where the rid goes in is where you'll see the resin that looks like silicone. Both of mine had one huge glob on one side, that is what killed the sensitivity of the rod.
  18. Oil is trading at $85 bucks a barrel, gas went to 2.50 when it hit $100/barrel. We are getting reamed big time, it has nothing to do with refineries, or speculators or anything like that. I have been told my whole life that OPEC and the cost per barrel drives the cost at the pump, now the media reports its the speculators. Why? Need a scapegoat to blame, the truth is the market will allow for 4.50 a gallon and the companies are not going to drop the price at the pump.
  19. Wow taking a shot over my bow for a opinion. I'm feeling pretty onery this evening so think I will respond. Thanks I would suggest getting your hands on a few more rods then. I'm not a Shimano groupie , them's fightin words lol. Just ask Gambler don't think he issued me a card for the possee. In my boat I carry rod wise Quantum Tour PT's , KVD PT, BPS Crankin Stick, Diawa Procyon, Shimano Convergence and a Dick's Field and Stream Tech Spec.As far as the Mojo, St Croix should drop that line IMO as they do nothing positive for the brand. They are dead sticks, tip heavy, craftsmanship leaves a lot to be desired, hardly get the guides on straight or inline, the finish is sloppy, the reel seat doesn't even touch the blank until it is at the opening where you can lay your finger on it, additionally the glue used to affix it looks likes and feels likes silicone glue, which is typically offcenter. Reel wise I have more BPS PQ's than anything. I recommended the Convergence as it is in the price range, something goes wrong you take it back to the dealer no shipping it anywhere and absorbing that cost, it is much more sensitive than the Mojo and is balanced better. St Croix's are assembled in America, with parts that are mainly if not entirely made in Asia, no more American made than the Chevy Malibu or Ford Focus made in Canada and Mexico respectively. Ask Bass Pro what blanks are used for the Extreme Rods, the same as St. Croix Premier. I do agree you should buy American trouble is in today's global market its nearly impossible.
  20. I would STRONGLY advise against a Mojo, had a couple gladly no longer have them, one word junk. Save yourself 30-40 bucks get a Shimano Convergence, life time over the counter guarantee, decent rod. A huge improvement over the Mojo. Never had a Veritas can't comment
  21. I lost the biggest bass I ever hooked while fishing an old plastic crank. I guess the plastic had weakened with time and the bass actually split the crank and the rear hook pulled out. The bass had wrapped around a limb and I guess got the leverage needed, it was wierd. I kept the crank to show ppl, now if its an old plastic or wood that the paint is cracking they never see the water.
  22. The eco boost better work Ford is putting them in every product except the Mustang. I bought a new truck last year, I wanted the eco boost, but there wasn't enough on the road or sold at that time to see how reliable they are. The idea is great, the little V6 makes as much torque as a diesel at lower rpm's. Here is my concern, a naturally aspirated engine has roughly 2psi of air pressure going in the intake, a typical turbo has 4-6psi, the eco boost has 12 psi! The twin turbo engine is running at max performance at all times. For me it is to soon to be able to make an informed decision on the motor. If u know a reputable Ford mechanic ask them how many are coming in for warranty work. There are several forums dedicated to the engine, but I don't know how much stock I put in them. An unhappy customer tells everyone and a happy one seldom tell anyone. I did drive one and liked it allot, just couldn't pull the trigger. I don't want to pay 30+ thousand just to test the engine.
  23. Swamp thing
  24. They're playing WVU soon, they'll win at least one Big 12 game. My Mountaineers have completely fallen apart offensively, never did have a defense
