  2. Congrats, I also log on at least once a day. I've learned allot and have met some of the members for fishing. Great site thanks
  3. Looks like u 3 had a awesome trip, congrats
  4. I went to a pre pay net 10 phone 3 years ago, set it up on auto pay. 40 bucks a month unlimited talk text and internet its only 3g or wireless thru a router. I have a smart phone with more gadgets than I need couldn't bee happier. My daughter has her's in Boston another son in WV, and the others in SC. My wife travels with work it had worked from TX to Boston and everywhere in between. Uses Sprint's network
  5. I've used bps crankin stick for so long anything else would feel weird
  6. If Imabassninja doesn't see this shoot him a pm. He has a few and likes them.
  7. Think I saw him on a saltwater fishing show once, very cool clip
  8. I think the bleeding hearts of this country will have football outlawed before they're done
  9. The new Bionic reel is also on sale at bps for 59
  10. Going thru my jig box, I noticed I have several jigs with wide gap hooks. Hardly any shank to put the trailer on. I don't remember where I purchased these, but what benefit is there to having wide gap hooks on a jig?
  11. I smoke Savinelli churchwardens straight stem, I would just stick the stem into the pvc leaving the bowl exposed, assuming u mount the pvc vertically
  12. IMO yes it would be better, aluminum frame versus graphite, stronger. The Pro Qualifier is an outstanding reel and a great value especially when on sale for 79
  13. I fish a chatterbait like a spinnerbait, slow roll to burning and everything in between. They also excel fished as a jig with a lift and drop. I'll use a chatter when others are using Colorado bladed spinnerbaits different rhythm but still effective.they are a very versatile bait, as far as trailers I'll use everything from grubs, flukes, craws etc.
  14. I love throwing topwater there is nothing like the Shad, just awesome. Then the craws and anaconda
  15. One reason I throw double props most often. If the blade, wire and hook are lined up, and the hook runs directly under the prop,(not over on its side) then its properly tuned.
  16. The advice Scott gave about holding a inline spinner still and let the current work it is so effective it shouldn't be allowed to be posted on a public forum! Those rare hot summer days when u can see the big bass swimming inn the current, put one right in front it, hold your tip up, the current will spin the blade. That stationary spinner will drivethem nuts, I have even bumped the fish to illicit a strike. Its awesome
  17. I want u to know up front I'm not from your area and was hoping someone from up that way would chime in. I grew up fishing for smallies in the Greenbrier and New rivers. Try modifying your original post and put the river name in the title. Anyway river fishing this time of year is challenging, they warm up much slower than lakes ponds. Find slow moving water close to a flat where they will spawn, typically shelteredwater. By sheltered I mean from the current, I always had luck behind a series of islands that held still water. Since you're walking fish a fluke, fish it like u would a jerk bait. A slow moving grub is a good choice too, the females will be keyed in on crawfish, so jig or trig a rage tail craw. Good luck
  18. Fantastic so glad for you and your family
  19. OMgosh, I don't even know where to start. I call both the doc and the insurance today the doc says the insurance didn't approve, insurance says they've not heard from the doctor's office. So according to the insurance office the doctor has not even requested for approval for the surgery on the 17th and they have no record of the doctor's office even calling or submitting anything since February, the doc's office told me they re-submitted the paperwork in March. I was supposed to go to get my pre-op tests done on Monday, and considering their track record with this I called to make sure the surgery was still on, they told me that the surgery wasn't approved. That they would get in contact with my insurance and get everything worked out. So someone is lying the insurance company or the doctor, the question is who is it????
  20. Congrats, like AJ stated smallies rule.
  21. Does the current create any Eddies? Look for current breaks, Eddies, etc. I would try a fluke and let the current carry it, throw into the riffles and let the current wash it into the pool at the bottom where u are getting the walleyes. A tube or other craw imitator would be good too. This time of year I would not expect them to be there, rather staging for the spawn. In creeks and rivers they spawn in slow moving water. When the water gets warmer it sounds like a great spot. Use the current to wash your bait down stream as naturally as possible.
  22. Today was supposed to be pre-op day, it wasn't. I have no idea what's going on! Please pray that this gets resolved, I'm miserable.
  23. lol, been down South too long, lol I don't know why I confuse the two
  24. I'm really liking my Quantum Energy PT's, to early to say best yet. My Curado E was one sweet reel, though. Round reel easy Abu Garcia EXT Pro 5600
  25. Go far enough west and the James has monster brown trout, between the dam at Moomaw and Covington
