  1. Plastic pellets?
  2. I'm definitely one to urge u to change up your retrieve. Sure working it slow produces, but there have been days that I couldn't work the buzz fast enough, that particular reel takes up 28ipt. My pb came by burning the buzz through duck weed/water meal, I was literally throwing that green soup a couple of feet in the air off of the props. I've also caught them by keeping the props under the water creating a wake. Let the bass tell u what they want.
  3. Buzzbaits are one of my favorite things to throw. Biggest on a buzz was my pb at 8lbs 14oz scale weight, smallest was a bluegill. My absolute favorite is a double prop gold blades with chartreuse and white. I've caught bass burning the bait as fast as I could get it, to slow rolling creating a huge wake, the bait stayed below the surface. I'll throw one just about any time, mix it up, go fast, slow and every thing in between. I don't use the ones with a clacker. I break mine in by either tying them outside or holding them out a window while driving. I've had best success around cover.
  4. Shoot just get a soft sided suit case, with wheels! Load that sucka up and away u go. I use an old luggage bag out of a Honda Goldwing, its just a big duffle holds too much stuff and like Sam said it can cause u to be concentrating on what u haven't tried instead of fishing.
  5. So glad this is the last one, hang in there praying for u.
  6. I'm ashamed to say I didn't do any this year As far as trick or treaters, went thru 10lbs of candy in about an hour and half. All kinds of kiddies come to this neighborhood. I really like the cannibal pumpkin, good job.
  7. I have 2 Energy PT 4, I like mine so far, haven't been used enough to genuinely recommend yet. As far as loose sideplates, more likely they weren't seated properly. I had to mount mine to a rod to get enough torque to remove it. Fit and finish are above average.
  8. Sure this has always been fun in the past. I'm in.
  9. Nope adding a split ring or clip adds a pivot point tightens up the wobble/wiggle. Don't remember how deep a Norman Fat Boy dives but they have that wide wobble.
  10. Shoot, I want a camera trained on him while walking Greenwich! His jaw will drop more than once
  11. Dude I'm from the South, just spent time up there, it's a lot like a prison sentence for a southern country boy. Once they hear that southern draw, it's over. BTW CT this time a year will freeze your southern giblets.
  12. Just remember when you go to the local watering hole after work, in the North the war is over.
  13. You got a sweet deal to "downgrade"
  14. 32" tubes? Man that's some seriously long barrels. Just out of curiosity; why so long? Sporting clays model?
  15. I would say that 95% of the time I fish by myself. Since moving here I've met a few people not many, and only one fishes.
  16. I moved to SC almost three years ago, I'm within easy driving range to lake Murray, Clarkshill and the Santee Cooper chain. I've fished less these last three years than ever. I haven't wetted a line since May. Most of this is health related, some to feeling that I need a bigger boat, at least some major upgrades, etc, etc. Right now I'm ecxited to go fishing again. Crap happens, just keep your head up. Life is what it is, no need worrying about it too much. What has me in the mood again is that I started going through my stuff, started some up grades on the boat. The excitement of fishing returned.
  17. Believe it or not the deck was pop riveted from the factory! Other areas have bucking rivets though. Then again as I think about it, the plates had to be blind riveted (pop rivet) in place, no way to access both sides.
  18. You have serious good taste in firearms. When I was hunting I preferred my barrels side by side and two triggers, I was limited to an AYA 4 boxlock, a friend of mine used Arrietas, I'd have to get a second mortgage to get a Purdey! Krieghoff makes some fine weapons though.
  19. What is that a Beretta sporting clays grade IV?
  20. In regards to the OP, if it's a private lake: depending on the state you live the creel limit/size laws governing state owned/managed waters do not apply. I know it sounds weird but in some states the state agencies have no authority over private water. Many states do not require licensing to fish privately owned water nor do they set creel/possession/size limits. A local brickyard has several private ponds that anyone can fish, just have to pay a trespass fee, the ponds are not stocked except after construction/reclamation. I've seen one person take nearly 75 crappie home after fishing one day! A housing development I lived in once had a fishing pond, I called DNR once on a guy that had a bucket full of fish, he got a ticket for trespass but nothing for not having a license or creel limit violations. It's this a private or public lake?
  21. Does anyone have any experience with this new generation of air-rifles? I've found 357 caliber up to 50, one guy did an African hunt with one. There are several videos on YouTube showing ppl taking feral hogs. I'm thinking of gettin a .177 to take care of my tree rat infestation. I'm in city limits but they're not classified as a firearm so I wouldn't be breaking any laws.
  22. The carpet on my tin boat is wore out, so I started to rip it up and discovered that the carpet actually wrapped around the aluminum deck plates. I had known they were riveted in place, what I didn't know was about half were broke or missed the framing. I also discovered one support brace is broken, right under the trolling motor. My question is when I go to put it back together should I have the plates welded in or just go with rivets and an epoxy? BTW I'm not going to wrap the new carpet around the plates. Seemed pretty stupid to do that in the first place. The deck plates are only 1/16th of an inch thick
  23. This one thing was such an epiphany for me when I learned about it several years ago. Like allot of other people my Dad taught me that the proper way to close the bail was to simply reel. SPINNING REELS ARE NOT DESIGNED TO HAVE THE BAIL CLOSED BY TURNING THE HANDLE. Although turning the handle will close the bail at first the reel is not designed to work this way. I actually called Abu Garcia about it, thought that the reel HAD to be designed to do that. Its not, read the manual folks.
