  1. Going tomorrow, we went down to Marion yesterday, wow what a snag infested mess! Launched at northern most ramp, river was way high almost flood conditions.
  2. July would work for me too, want to try for the second Saturday, July 11th? That work for most?
  3. Sure I can plan, idk the lake at all just need a meeting place. I'll have my boat, I'll see if bassninja wants in, he may bring his boat between us that's room for two non boaters.
  4. The entry level Lews aren't expensive at all. I am assuming that you're referring to the Black Max from Abu, the entry level American Hero and Laser series from Lews, is far better than the Max line from Abu IMO; about the same price too. Retail on the Hero is 59 and Laser 79, they're readily available for less than retail.
  5. That's a great looking Welsh! Congrats on the titles it takes allot of work to progress that far!
  6. I used to run beagles,.music to my ears. Then I bird hunted behind gwp, gsp, pointers and setters. Nothing like a dog on point every muscle twitching with excitement.
  7. I guess I should explain my post a bit better. Women do not want a man who placates, or gives in to them all the time. It makes u look weak, when life gets ugly and the defecation starts hitting the rotary oscillator they want to know they can count on you. If you have never had a backbone then they don't know that they can count on you. It's a phenomena called "Pleasing instead of Loving", look it up. Sure there are times for compromise but when your focus is pleasing her at all costs, you're in trouble. IMO there is a shortage of men, a man protects, a man provides, a man puts family first, a man is the earthly pillar of strength for his family, has the wisdom to know when to please and when to love. You can't be a man without a backbone and wide enough shoulders to bear your loved one's burdens. The fastest way to prove you aren't a man, give in all the time, don't be honest, allow someone else to do your job, give her enough of this behavior and she'll see you as weak and not worthy of her love and respect.
  8. I want one of those seats. Nitro doesn't offer that option, I checked!
  9. On the corps site pick your lake from drop down menu, then once there pick lakes website, there u will find temp, ph level, dams output in cfm, etc Here ya go some aren't reporting yet USCOE Huntington district, (your area) general info temp included for all water in area. The lakes on this list are hyperlinked to it's specific website with allot more detailed info, the same for streams, took less than 5 minutes. Lakes like bluestone and summersville show as inactive, but click the hyperlink then click current conditions it will show depth, pH level, oxygen content ppm, temp, etc. http://www.lrh-wc.usace.army.mil/wq/lkcond.html Kanawha river from USGS http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?03193000 Depending on type of station USGS may or may not include temp. Between the two sites you can find everything u need to know before leaving the house.
  10. I want everyone's man card, except Glenn, who told them straight up accept it or not. To the rest grow a pair now before you get married, it will save allot of hassle later. Jeez explain to a gf how I spend my money? It would have never crossed my mind.
  11. I have 3 Shimano rods and really like them. My rods are a mixture 1 convergence, 1 Clarus & 1 compre. I just noticed that Shimano has discontinued their lifetime warranty, all of mine were purchased with lifetime warranties. I've never had to use a warranty before, but I still don't like it.
  12. OK, gentlemen here is the deal. I found a vendor selling the 899ci HD SI for 899, that's $100 off retail. They also have the nav version which comes with Navionics+ I think but it's retail at $999. Is the card worth the extra money, can't seem to locate a Nav version on sale. Opinions please
  13. Oh man that would suck
  14. This one factor is why my si unit is on the tm! I can rotate my tm allot of times before I can justify the 1500 dollar 360 transducer
  15. Thanks for the info, I do appreciate it.
  16. The best Abu on the planet is the original Morrum, followed closely by the new Morrum, and then the EXT Pro. All round all built like tanks and can be handed down to the next generation. My uncle would say the old spinning 300 they made for Mitchell, the black ones out of production for about 40 years, he still fishes with his.
  17. I've been cruising around eBay and I'm seeing all these reels but I have no reference for them, the descriptions aren't great. So I thought someone here may know. What is a Shimano Big Bay and Shimano XT (phantom type)? Looking for a swimbait reel and the two keep popping up. Thanks
  18. Getting another Humminbird unit leaning hard toward the 899c HD SI. Comes with HB's proprietary Contour XD maps. From the looks of it online, I don't see the need for the additional Navionics card. Am I missing something here? FWIW my first HB was the new Helix model, this thing blows Lowrance out of the water, I'm getting rid of all my Lowrance units now.
  19. Had surgery on neck again and dodged a bullet for more lumbar surgery, have good days and bad ones. I'm good. BTW scored a new to me boat, we should hit Marion sometime. It would be good to go out with someone with experience on the lake. Shoot me a pm and we'll try to set it up.
  20. Yeah, I was thinking about a Saturday, just pick a central spot on the lake where we could meet up have lunch then go fishing after. That way those who wanted to fish the morning could, those who wanted to fish evening could, those who wanted to fish all day could. Just a couple hours early afternoon where we could put faces to namesand then split up to fish that afternoon. Could even do a bragging rights tourney or something. The guys in VA do something similar on lake Anna. I think those of us in SC and GA could do the same. With the road trip gone something like this would provide an opportunity to meet new ppl and tell lies about our fishing powers lol.
