  1. Creek smallies are fun in the summer. I’ve been grinding for bigger fish this summer and it’s been rough, decided to hit a pond full of dinks the other day just to get some easy bites and I didn’t even really enjoy myself though. I guess it’s back to the lakes or maybe even the Illinois river tomorrow to once again try for a big one.
  2. You’re tired/burnt out dude. A lot of times I have to make myself engage with my hobbies and 99% of the time I’m thankful I do.
  3. See at my Walmart flukes recent went from 2.97 to 3.50 or so. Still a great barging and I understand that the price of everything is going up. Zoom is still well worth the price imo
  4. A beaver has worked for me in all water temps/clarities.
  5. Jerk to the side, I fish a jerkbait out of a float tube and love it. Sure it’s can be a tiny bit tricky sometimes but it’s my favorite technique and it is very doable.
  6. Came here to say this, I do have one with chartreuse on the belly that works great too though. But yeah if they aren’t hitting one with a white belly then I will try something else.
  7. I would use a magic crawl swirl too, it’s just green pumpkin with a beautiful shiny blue swirled in and it really makes the bait look way more alive, to my eyes anyway. It might be called something different in different brands but most companies make it.
  8. See I feel the same about someone selling me a bunch of good cranks for 2-4 bucks a piece. I’m always really grateful when people give me great deals on quality stuff they don’t use anymore, I almost feel better about it that way, they helped me out and gave me a good deal and in return they got some cash and some clutter out of the way.
  9. Man the dude was just trying to vent about his fishing buddy flaking out on him over and over again, goes to show that an Internet forum isn’t the best place to vent about your personal problems ? to the OP I understand, sometimes it’s nice to have a reliable friend to share those experiences with and not having that can be frustrating but hey atleast we have bassresource. Even though I don’t post a lot this place means a lot to me,I spend alot of my time here and I don’t regret it or feel that it’s wasted time one bit.
  10. Well that’s mostly just me repeating myself but I’m just really happy about the success I’ve been having on them, I’m sure the other sizes work well but the half ounce sinks like a rock when you stop it and it drives the bass crazy. This mini max has given me the success I always hoped the standard chatterbait would, the regular sized chatterbaits work well for me at times and at other times I can’t buy a bite with them, I hope the mini max countinues to preform this well later in the summer and into the fall.
  11. It’s just a 4 inch zoom fluke, not the super fluke with the split belly. It’s the perfect size and it’s a pretty thin bait so it allows the bait to stay down and gives the bait way more hunting action than a heavier/bulkier trailer. This combo has been absolutely amazing for me, especially the half ounce mini max fished erratically and popping the rod letting the bait sink back to bottom or close to bottom.
  12. Bluegill mini max with a baby bass “the fluke” with the tail dyed. The baby bass color is awesome because it looks good on almost every color chatterbait.
  13. Are you just using them as ned baits or what?
  14. The zoom fluke, NOT the super fluke. I’ve been fishing the baby bass color fluke on the half ounce gizzard Shad mini max and oh my goodness this is the greatest chatterbait fishing I’ve experienced by far. I literally could not be happier with this bait/setup Dude try the half ounce one with a fluke style trailer and aggressively stroke or yo yo it, like a jig or t rig but more aggressively. It’s unbelievable how effective it is ? the gizzard Shad color has been incredible to me and it literally can mimic everything depending on the color trailer you use.
  15. Zoom z craw jr or a standard size rage menace are great smaller but still “standard” sized bass craws that catch lots of fish of all sized.
  16. 2 inch grubs, rooster tails, and 3 inch easy shiners
  17. Do you ever deal with moss/algae stopping up your spinnerbaits while fishing thick pads? Any solutions?
  18. I’ve been loving the mini max green pumpkin chatterbait with a straight tail trailer lately, gets WAY more bites than a full sized chatterbait, if that doesn’t work a fluke always will.
  19. How much bulkier is the double wide? Keep meaning to grab a pack because I love the standard beavers so much.
  20. I would learn how to fish a super fluke, can nearly always catch one on a fluke and big bass love them.
  21. After you have doubled the line just pretend it’s all one piece and tie a granny knot with it. after your granny knot is tied you will have a loop and you simply put the bait through the loop. This is how I explain it to people new to fishing and it seems to help.
  22. The ones with the forked tails are great little ned baits. Creek and pond bass tear them up. Message me some info about this bait?
  23. Do you feel like this bait is better than a reaction innovations beaver or basically interchangeable?
  24. Doesn’t matter, I like the tail to be up but I think most people do tail down. Try it both ways and see what you think looks better.
  25. Both actually. I have a beautiful small lake that is full of pads, literally like 80 percent of the surface is pads. It’s always stained but right now it’s downright muddy, along with every other body of water in eastern Oklahoma. We’ve had a lot of rain, going out tomorrow and hoping to put something together. I’ve had luck with a big bright buzz bait in the muddy water and a black and blue chatterbait. I will add that I have had very little luck ever fishing the pads at this lake, my best days out there are actually just fishing the one edge without pads that has shade from the trees almost all day.
