  1. A popper has worked for me this year in several similar situations. The few seconds where all the bass are blowing up at once I would aggressively pop it and usually get bit during the commotion and when they weren’t blowing up that second I would give it lighter pops.
  2. Thank you!!! I feel like an idiot asking basic questions about trolling motors and maps but this is the first time I’ve ever had ten opportunity to fish in a “boat” and I’m really just trying to learn more and get better and bassresource has always been a huge help!
  3. I’m looking for a map that shows the depth on a large lake close buy and the only ones I can find are ones you have to pay for. Is this the norm? Does anyone know where I can get a map of Skiatook lake in Oklahoma by chance?
  4. This has been really interesting to me latley. I mean if I’m just flipping and not bottom bouncing this is the exact same presentation as a jig right? How often do you throw this setup? When do you throw it over a regular t rig or jig?
  5. Exactly the advice I was looking for, I know literally nothing about batteries and motors and this helps a lot. When payday comes around I will pick one up, thanks!
  6. I will definitely look at those, I might just wait until next payday and get something in the 200 range if basspro has any quality batteries around that price. I’m really looking for something that I’m confident will get me through a day of fishing without having to use my paddle to get back. After fishing out of a float tube this year I’m very excited to have a motor that isn’t my legs ?
  7. I just purchased a go boat which is basically a heavy duty float tube with a solid platform to stand on and a slot for a trolling motor. The motor is a mini Kota Endura 30, Today I made the mistake of buying a lown and garden 12v battery for it and after some research it looks like that was a terrible choice, that’s what I get for taking the advice of the random Walmart employee I guess ? I have 80 dollars in gift cards to bass pro and I’m hoping someone can recommend me a battery in the $120 range I can pick up at bass pro.
  8. Are you mostly fishing this bait in muddy water? I have a few and the action is crazy but I haven’t fished them much. Have you thrown the movement squarebill at all?
  9. I bought 10 when they were on sale, they seem like great baits for 3 bucks a piece. I have admittedly only fished them in the swimming pool but I will put them to great use in the spring. They wiggle like any other squarebill and they don’t even very deep which is great for me actually. Anyway there is no way they don’t catch fish.
  10. So I haven’t really fished sixth sense plastics much but I have some and was about to stock up on the prawns because I love the look of the bait and the colors but after reading some of the reviews on tackle warehouse it seems like a lot of people who try their plastics end up not liking them. The main complaint is that the plastic isn’t very soft and is very brittle and can even hinder hook sets because of the toughness of the plastics. Has anyone here fished the sixth sense prawn? How does it compare to other beaver style baits? What about their other plastics?
  11. I have the 7’5 medium heavy and it is a fine rod but it’s a bit too heavy and there really is very little flex in the top making accurate casting tricky. I think I’m going to buy a 6,6 or 7 mh rod with a faster tip for more all around purposes and use the slx rod for making long casts with bigger keitechs and hollow belly swimbaits.
  12. I just bought some ochos for 1.99 a pack at academy, only bought two packs and I have no idea why I didn’t just by them all
  13. Do you primarily fish the standard 309 or the deep? I think I’m going to buy 2 each of the 300, 300 deep, and 200 and see how it works out! I believe you fish Oklahoma a bit?
  14. I’ve had good luck with the smaller keitech easy shiners especially for creek smallmouth. I usually give my girlfriend a spinning road with an easy shiner, a fat impact, or a grub and she always catches something
  15. Sort of unrelated but do you fish the 200 or the standard 300 much? How deep does the deep diver dive for you? I’m thinking about going crazy and picking up a bunch of these baits, I’ve never really fished jerkbaits and these baits seem like a good place to start
  16. Buy a spool of 12 and 15lb big game and some kid line and lure. You can afford to swap it out often if for some reason you want to go lighter or heavier one day. Big game has high memory but the kvd line and lure really helps. At first I chose big game because it was cheap but now I just use it because I know I’m not going to break off a fish if I have my drag set right and a fresh knot.
  17. Sent you a message
  18. Do a lot of people fish it? There is this pond near near a lot of people fish literally everyday and the ticket for me was getting there as the sun was rising because nobody else fishes it in the morning.
  19. Did you pour or buy these heads? I just bought ten old glamour shads with the exact same heads and I love them and would like to be able to replicate them!
  20. Have you tried the berkley half head? They are 50 cents a piece for the 1/16th ounce size and they have worked great for me!
  21. What style/brands/models of spinnerbaits are you fishing in the winter? I want a spinnerbait to work for but they have been really hit or miss for me.
  22. Why do you flip and pitch with a football jig? Just curious because I I’ve always thought that was a bad choice for flipping and pitching but if it works fine it could really help me simplify and that’s something I’ve been trying to do more of lately.
  23. Recently moved into a house with my girlfriend and she actually suggested we turn the back room into my fishing and camping room and obviously I was very pleased with that idea ? built my first pegboard to store my soft plastics and I absolutely love it. I ran out of pegs so its not complete yet and I will need to build more boards to hang everything I want to hang. Anyway I would love to see everyone else’s peg boards or other fun ways of storing and displaying your tackle! Well dang it, it turned the picture sideways and made it very blurry.
  24. That sounds about right, not as cheap as buying it from OM obviously But very convenient and probably the cheapest I’ve seen on store shelves. I will probably buy a pack of the 3/8th and 1/2 and try them out, I’m sure they work fine I mean it’s just a weight after all.
  25. My local Walmart has just started carying ozark trail tungsten and it seems to be priced pretty fairly. I don’t remember if they had inserts or not but I was wondering if anyone has tried these? I plan on picking some up but I’m worried that it might be poorly made and fray the line. On a side note the ozark trail spinnerbaits actually look really great too
