  1. Guess I’m in the minority here, I like the tiny little bit of extra weight a heavy wire ewg gives the fluke, I will even wrap a tiny bit of lead tape around the hook when it’s a little windy to keep the bait from rising.
  2. Soft plastics, I have a couple hundred bags and love the different colors, profiles, smells, and the endless ways to rig them. It’s also a lot easier for me to go to the store and buy a new $4 bag of plastics than it is the buy the 14$ hard bait I want that will likely get stuck on a log or a rock.
  3. So I have a giant neighborhood pond near I fish occasionally when I don’t want to hit the lakes, it has giant bass and gets fished heavily every single evening spring through fall. Waking up early and fishing at first light is the way to get bit there. My best day out there was with an American Shad pointer 78, I’m guessing they don’t see any jerkbaits so that might be something to try.
  4. I kind of like the look of it, if they are significantly cheaper than Dark sleepers I will forsure be trying them. Maybe they will be more snag resistant
  5. I’ve had great luck with g2 shellcrackers and keitech 5.8s for pond bass, the shellcracker will catch good numbers of smaller fish too but is hard to find unfortunately.
  6. I’ll often just try a popper if I’m not catching them on other baits, for me they have been a bait that will sometimes catch fish better than anything else.
  7. If you buy jigs from siebert you can pick the head colors and have different head colors for different weights
  8. Yup, a pack of 1/16th ounce jig heads and some crappie plastics will always catch small bass if they are around in my experience.
  9. A small swim bait on a jig head is great way to easily catch some fish, a 3.8 or smaller keitech/rage swimmer would be a good place to start.
  10. Looks like a bait I got in one of those bass pro bucket of baits, not as big as a 7 inch power worm. I would try a four inch power worm or a zoom u tail.
  11. How do you rig/fish these? I’ve had a pack of them for a while but haven’t thrown them yet
  12. I’ve been unable to try copoly or Fluro because big game is just so cheap, convenient, and most importantly it’s strong and reliable. I always use KVD line and lure with it though.
  13. Boss makes a flipping/punching jig that goes up to an ounce and a quarter I believe, it has a very unique shape to it too. I bought some but I still haven’t used them so I really don’t have an opinion on them yet but they look great.
  14. I just started fishing jerkbaits this year and the pointer 78 is the only one I’ve ever fished but being a total newb to jerkbaits and fishing some pressured areas I have killed it on an Lucky craft 78 so pointer in the solid white color and especially American Shad. It’s my new favorite way to fish now.
  15. You can buy a used float tube for basically nothing if you check fb marketplace frequently, float tube was a game changer for me!
  16. I wish strike king would make a Hula rage menace.
  17. Storm makes lead strips you can wrap around your hook, also dropping down in line size will let your bait fall faster. A fluke fishes way better for me on 10 or 12lb big game vs 15lb.
  18. Sounds like an awesome bait, Would love to see it if you have a picture.
  19. Could try putting a little piece of a soft plastic on the hook point, I’m sure a big swimbait rod would have no problem going through an extra tiny piece of plastic
  20. Never used that jig but I have used the siebert sniper jig in the 5/16th ounce and they are great for both grass and wood and they come with a pretty heavy wire hook actually. I just buy the jig heads from them and put my own skirts on
  21. 2 inch white curly tail grub on a 1/16th jig head
  22. I almost bought some fish sticks the other day, have you opened it up and smelled it yet?
  23. I usually don’t but I’ve discovered a 4 inch easy shiner lols great on a spinnerbait and it’s a really thin profile that doesn’t ever cause the bait to run on it’s side, plus it gives the spinnerbait a bit of scent
  24. I saw someone one Facebook thread a small piece of a crawl onto a tube with a jig head in it just like you would put a chunk on a jig. Looked awesome and I’m sure it would work great
  25. On the subject of boat ramps I always like to make a few casts with a small craw or ned rig on the edges of the boat ramp and in the warmer months I can almost always atleast get a dink or two doing this!
