  1. Hey guys, I’ve been making Jigs for quite some time now and I’ve always been intrigued with pouring Soft Plastics and making my own Jig Trailers and recently I’ve been very curious about Creature Baits. I would like to start pouring my own Soft Plastics and if someone could, give me a rundown of Everything I need to purchase. With that said, is there a quick, simple and fast way I could maybe pour like 10 Creature Baits without purchasing all the expensive stuff first just to see if this is a hobby I want to get into? Hell, even if I had to go out and purchase a Bag of Worms to melt down and pour a Few Creature baits, I’d be up for it, just so I can see how I like it. Thanks for the help

    Beavers?

I've been making Jigs for years now and this is one thing I've been wanting to jump into. I'd love to get into making my own Beavers, just for the simple fact that I could get the Color that I want, when I want.
  3. When I fish my Live Target Frog I kind of go into this Zone that "I AM The Frog" I'll cast it out and think, Ok, I've just landed, I need to get over there without getting killed. So I start my Frog off on his little Journey and I Go Go Go Go and then I'll freeze him. Kind of like thinking. I've been seen, if I stay still he won't notice. I'll do this especially on Pads. I'll hop him from one Pad, through the water, to another Pad and then take it across the pad to the Edge of it. Then I'll pause it for a few seconds, like 5 or so, then I'll hop him off that Pad and repeat. Usually I get a fish as soon as my little guy jumps off that Pad.
  4. I agree with you there - As soon as this bait came out I thought "Just a Typical, Catch the Fisherman type Bait" You can't convince me that this bait will catch Bass when a Frog won't. You can't convince me that this bait is better than a Frog. So why would I spend money on a Bait, that I have another type of bait already, that will fish as good or better than this?
  5. I made some Jika Rigs the other night with Trokar hooks for some Creature Bait flipping and I noticed I can to the exact same thing as that Phantom rig with my home made Jika Rigs. Could be an option for you.
  6. Hey, my best friend works on Fort Rucker. I should tell him about the Tournament.
  7. The best part of this Format is the fact these Fish are being Caught, Weighed, Recorded and released right there where they caught them. They're not being tossed in a Livewell and drove around all day and released at the Dock. That has always bothered me and I'm glad to see this format change that. Now if they can just fix the part where they have to "Brag" about the Format every 3 minutes it'll be a good show.
  8. Are there any sites that teach you the basics? I am really interested in Air Brushing, What would be the route to take here on learning how to Air Brush lures and such? Thanks in Advance
  9. Thanks for the information and suggestion
  10. and I have to say, it was very interesting to read all of the different views from the many threads on this board. I recently started selling my Jigs and I have been torn exactly just how to promote them. I mean I have a web site and all and I have been reading different sites. So, Just this past weekend I contacted a Local Semi-Pro Fisherman down here where I live in Columbus Georgia about using my jigs and see if he would let me sponsor him. Did you catch that part? I wanted to see if he would LET me Sponsor HIM, then I come here to this message board and I see this term called "Field Tester" and "Pro Staffer" Then I'm like, hmm, so do I just get people to be Field Testers, sell them my jigs for 30% off and basically still make money? If I did that, then I would be willing to bet, I would probably get MAYBE one to two Field Testers, tops. Because I am an up and comer to the business, I doubt I get many people to try my Jigs at even a 30% Discount. My other option is to post/advertise that I need people to sponsor... Then I am going to be completely on the opposite side of the spectrum. I will then get every Tom, Dick and Harry that wants Free Jigs to contact me which will put me in an already seemingly large hole of debt starting something like this gets you. So, with that said, I come here today and post this with a simple question. How should I go about this, what is the best way for me to get my Jigs name out there in the Bass Fishing world?
  11. Could you tell me more about the Pot Tournament you go to? I'm interested in fishing one of these on a regular basis. Thanks
  12. Hey guys, New to the board. I've been making and selling Jigs for two years now. Always looking to learn new tricks and tips.
  13. PM me I can make you the Jigs without the skirts.
  14. Also, how do I advertise on Bassresource? Thanks again
  15. First I would like to thank all of your input. I have done exactly what Sam has suggested. I've personally went to the smaller tackle shops and have been getting my Jigs on their shelves on Consignment. I think I'm going to go the Sponsor a tournament fisherman as my next move. The key is to get the Jigs on as many shelves as possible and then to get the word out. So I think Consignment is a win win situation for getting them in the stores and sponsoring a Tournament Fisherman is a good way to get the word out. The only thing I don't like about an Online Store is the fact that it's a Marketing nightmare.
  16. Like how do I go about getting My Jigs on the shelves at Walmart or Dicks Sporting Good, places like that. Any Tips to this would be great
  17. I live in Columbus Georgia, Retired from the Army two years ago, I[ch8217]m also looking for a Bass Club to join, could you send me some information? Thanks
